What schools did you apply to?
Awesome video! Thank you for making this 👍
Hi. Does anyone have the review PowerPoint? The AACN took it off their website ):
Bro i have a question. How possible is it for a nurse working in usa but with a foreign obtained BSN to get into crna school?
Hey there! How much was your gpa in BSN? I have 3.2 on the scale of 4. Do I have to take gre test to be competitive for CRNA school? Please do suggest.
Would love an update from you. Even if you reply to the comment.
Which programs did you applied to?
Come cross your channel. Do I need patient care experience when applying? Do I need nursing school if I have master in finance
I am hoping to apply next year. I cannot express how nervous I am about it.
Hi ive been watching your videos! Any update?
Yo man don’t think you’ll see this but how’s it going ? Followed for a while and just wondering how the program and stuff went
Same
Hi Jae!!!!!! My cum GPA is 3.76 and I finally got my GRE score of 304 and a writing score of 3.5. Do I have to retake it? to make my resume more competitive or meaningless? I hate the GRE exam. please give me a piece of your advice, please !!
Did you do an ABSN or did you get a 4 year degree before CRNA school ?
I did the 4 year traditional route, which actually took me 6 years because I was a dodo. lol
CMC was easy as hell. if you work on a cardiac unit you be okay. just use the official practice test book
I wouldn’t say it was “easy as hell.” Everything’s relative right? What’s easy to you may be difficult for someone else.
@@NurseAnesthesia1 I'm just trying to brag. I had to study too, and I hardly got a perfect score
!!!PLS MAKE MORE NEW VIDEOS!!!
2021 goal, I'm gonna make more I Promise!
By the way, thank you for this video. I now have my CCRN-CSC-CMC! I'm in my first round of applying to CRNA schools, and hopefully one will be a good match for me. Hope you're thriving in your program. Thanks again! For anyone reading this, I found the CMC to be slightly harder than both the CCRN and CSC. VERY manageable though, and the biggest challenge is the lack of resources. I found the AACN CMC course to be overkill, and I basically did not utilize the course after seeing how in depth it went (this is coming from a nurse who works in CVICU/CCU though). I used the AACN CMC question booklet and the Pass CCRN question bank for cardiac and pulmonary. Barron's for cardiac and pulmonary is a good review too, if you need a refresher.
My pleasure. I enjoy making videos like these to help others. Hope you get into your top choice! Yes, I agree, the recorded lecture of the CMC course through AACN are really overkill. It's like bordering medicine practice level instead of nursing. lol. I used exactly everything you stated.
So i have a question, I was recently accepted into an MSN program at Emory but I want to be a crna. How would i go about becoming a crna with a general msn degree?
Your GPA, GRE, and ICU experience are the only things that matter. And also your interview... You can get the MSN if you want and still apply to CRNA school, but I wouldn't waste my money or time with that.
thanks for the advice man
How did you get started in the ICU?
I honestly just applied to a bunch of listings all over. I think this applies to a lot of jobs, but if you're willing to relocate (i.e. move) you more likely to get the job you want.
I just became a CRNA earlier this year and can say that it was totally worth the blood, sweat, and tears. Nice video, good luck in anesthesia school 👍
Congratulations!!!! Did you take your boards? let me know peace
That is awesome. Can't wait to be on the other end with you.
How hard was it to get into nurse anesthetist school? How many prior years as a rn did you have?
Hi! What's your GPA after retaking classes or your GPA when you got accepted to CRNA school?
I can't tell you off the top of my head but I don't think it went up a whole lot just because of the fact that I had already taken sooo many college credit hours. I think the point I made to admissions committees by taking those courses again was that I changed my mentality with school and was serious/focused about studying/school.
Did you do one semester of Ochem or two semesters? Did you retake that at the undergraduate level?
One semester. Undergrad.
Thanks! Did you have to take a lab with that?
Hey Jae! I'm currently applying to CRNA schools on the east coast and have a similar story to yours. Would you be able to look over my resume/personal statement and give me any tips you may have? It would be greatly appreciated! lmk!
Sure, dm me on instagram if you can and i'll send you my email
Do you already know some of your duty station options in the US and over seas?
I know of places that CRNA's are stationed and deployed to but I won't get a permanent workplace or deployment until I finish school.
can you talk about your path to becoming a nurse?
Carlos Rodriguez sure, I can make a video in the future about that
I love the honesty. Thank you!
I have my CCRN with 2+ years of ICU experience. I am taking grad A&P in August with interviews in Oct. GPA of 3.3. Should I study and take the CMC before studying for the interview or just study for my interview?
Sorry I'm just seeing this now. I would have suggested you could have studied for the CMC but seeing how it's late October you've probably already done your interview(s). Hope they went well!
Do you receive BAH while in CRNA school? I am aware of the officer salary during the program.
If you live off base, yes. If you live on base, no.
So did your program already start, even given COVID? Do you get a degree from Baylor or Northeastern when you finish?
Yes, the program has started, and our degree is awarded by Baylor.
Nurse Anesthesia Jae ...good to hear I went to northeastern who is the satellite degree granting institution for that program as well. I’m awaiting my direct commission package as well speak as I was finally able to get in after trying since 2003. Until now couldn’t get a medical waiver for kidney donation. Best of luck man....I’m a professor and I think you will do well. See you around
How old were you (are you now) when you got accepted into CRNA school?
This might be a stupid question but I really dont know. I haven’t finished nursing school yet but I know I want to work in critical care and I’m trying to be proactive. To become ccrn and cmc certified do you have to do any extra schooling before sitting for the test? Or is it just the 2 year of experience in critical care?
you need a certain number of working hours (employed) in critical care (about a year full time 760-something hours) to be eligible to take the exam
Departed Reflections thank you forgot I even asked this!
@@elijahwalker4506 np
Not 760 hours , atleast 1750 hours
Stephanie K thanks. Btw is that stephanie K from degrassi or is your name really stephanie k ?
Hey how have you been!!? I hope you doing good!
I've been good!
Where did you take your undergrad courses?? I had the same GPA out of nursing school...will try to follow your steps!
I did them at my local community college
Hope you're doing well after leaving BOLC.
Great tips! I’m an ADN nurse starting her BSN in the fall! I work in a rural icu but after my bsn plan to move to a city so I can go to a bigger icu. :) love the videos
Nice 👏🏻 Keep up the good work 💪
Yes! Go for more than 1 year of ICU experience. It makes the difference!
Am waiting for bolc video. I go to dcc next month
Does the college of where the undergraduate BSN was obtained play a factor for crna Universities?
Guillermo Al I do not think so. As long as it’s accredited you should be fine
@@NurseAnesthesia1 Spot on, this is correct.
Thanks for the video! Was your GPA a 3.09 after Taking/Re-taking all of Those classes?
I can't remember to be honest haha. But I commented to someone else that after retaking my courses it didn't go up much due to the fact that I already had sooo many credit hours from previous classes.
Haha that’s ok! I actually got accepted to a CRNA program that’ll being in June. Super excited to get started and to also watch your journey!
I was trying to figure out what country the flag represented, then I realized it was Texas lol
Lol
hahaha
Many Texans would argue that we are a country 😂
Ro Ashley 🤣
Retaking those hard science courses is impressive! How did you balance them with work?
It was definitely challenging. I just made sure to schedule my work hours on separate days from class days!
Defining a GPA as low depends on various things like the collage program , the educational system in your country .. etc Here in Egypt a 3.0 GPA score is considered " very good " So you see what I'm talking about.. CRNA programs need to find other fair ways to evaluate the applicants .
First I want to congratulate you on your success. I also have 3 years of experience in MICU, low gpa 3.09 like you and I took organic chem got B and also retook my science A and P and general chem which I got A on both. I have CCRN now I am planing to take my GRE next month. I have a question three questions, I have a CCRN, would it be smart to take the CMC certificate? The second question I have for you is can you pls share how you constructed your personal statement? I would love to send you mine and maybe you can help me to present my nursing education, certificates and experience to be a better applicant. And lastly, which schools did you apply? Thank you so much for posting this video
Hi, What school did you take your organic chemistry and statistics course
Great video. Thank you!
Great advice!!!
THIS IS NOT A LOW GPA!!!!! We should change this narrative :)
it is for grad schools lol
@@indianchika123 I went to grad school with people that had lower.
Dang! I had no idea you even commented on my video! lol! When applying and researching crna program I had the mindset that my GPA was low. I actually still do consider it low compared to the average, but obviously I overcame that with other areas of my application! That's what I think I'm trying to show/prove in this video :)
@@indianchika123 does he mean 3.9, .1 from a 4.0 or 3.09, .2 from a 3.2?
Such an inspiration, Jae! I have a previous bachelors degree in biology which I got with the bare minimum. I know I’m going to have to work hard to achieve my goal of CRNA school. Except, I just bombed to NCLEX. Look forward to more content! Thanks.
