Thanks man. I live in Northern VA and we also get ice and snow, just not as bad as the northern states. I absolutely never take my beautiful 2007 Town Car in any type of weather except sun and dry, therefore she has absolutely zero rust. Thanks for the video….
awesome! Thank you for sharing brother. question where your stands are placed. i want to change my motor oil but don't want to just tilt the car up from the front i want it level? Thanks. new to all this
@@BruteForce. The only two ways I can imagine this is either having a lift, or 4 jack stands at each corner of the vehicle. That would take a lot of lifting lol. Thank you lots my dude!
@@CarolinaCrown98 hey buddy so is it ok to drain out all the oil even if i use a floor jack and two stands for the front? i normally take the car in and they raise it so the oils drips down. using stands is ok to change the oil then? thanks.
@@BruteForce. Yeah absolutely! That’s how I do mine every time I change it.
And for the tool in the video, I found "TPMS19", is that it?
@@GobroncoCZE that’s it!
Hi, can you make a video about how the transmission should operate in OK state? I feel a "jolt" when stationary and shifting from P to R/D. Or from R to D and vice versa. Unfortunately I dont have anybody around with cvpi to compare how it should feel..
@@GobroncoCZE If you feel a jolt, you should first try to change the fluid and filter to see if it will fix the problem firstly. If that doesn’t work, the unfortunate reality is that it may need to be rebuilt. It could progress to getting worse. The lack of maintenance in the vehicle’s past probably played a role in it. I’m definitely going to make a video on how to change transmission fluid as soon as mine is due for it.
@@CarolinaCrown98 I will change it soon, I just ordered less trans fluid for some reason..
I try to take some short clip of whats happening when shifting, but when driving I dont hear or feel the trans shifting at all...
@@GobroncoCZE Sometimes it may just have a delay in catching. Could just be the way your transmission engages with the old age today.

That crown vic sound good!
I don't think it needs to be idling with AC on the whole time but that's just me...
@@clmco36 not my car! 😂👍🏻
A an extra overdrive gear or two would allow you to have your cake and eat it too. Can only do so much with 4 gears.
I got my first panther car, a 2010 p7b about a month ago, i realized it doesn’t have performance improved heads though they’re the non pi heads, i could tell by the intake but i thought after 2001 they all had PI heads. Nonetheless the car is still a beast and im glad i got it. Its got x5 axle, 165,000 miles and around 6,000 idle hours. Its became my favorite car after being a dream for a long time
The 2011 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor definitely was a vehicle built to withstand the test of time, because of these vehicles are just bulletproof like that. I mean they could seriously be abused and keep going, and that's kind of an expectation for a police car. And that's just me speaking as a civilian that's interested in law enforcement...
Nice one! Cheers from Germany. A question about FlexFuel. While Ford started the badging in 2009, what was the first model year, that really could run on E85 without damaging the engine. I have a 2007 P71 and was wondering the whole time.
@@mkoschmall 2008 is when they switched to flex fuel.
A few months ago got an 08 ex Nevada highway patrol detective car for $4k at 170k miles and 2100 idle hours. Surplus vehicle so it was only used for detective/admin use. The guy I got it from was an actor who took great care of it. Once I got it I ceramic coated it and gave it new front struts that’s all it needed. Also came with LED spotlights ready to install. The Frenchmen and British pilots at the airport offered $7500 for it and a couple others gave me their numbers in case I ever sell. Sucks that a few years ago pops wouldn’t let me get one with less mileage when they were going for $1-2k before I turned 18. After buying one myself. I can no longer find good ones below 6k A couple good condition ones care going for 11-18k and one just sold for $14k in my city at 110k miles. Problem is people are actually paying that much so that’s justifying the price hike
@@bighomie245 Absolutely! It’ll never come back down again for these vehicles.
Be prepared to spit your drink out. I spent $17.5k on my South Carolina CVPI SAP. See your Part 1 video for details.
lol I bought a 01 Grand Marquis that a guy got from his grandpa passing that was garaged it's entire life for $2750 a week ago. 165k miles with zero rust and new tires in 2019 right before it was parked. Had to buy a battery but I drove it home and parked it. Still need to change the trans fluid and the oil but it should last me another 10 years easy. I just started stocking up on oil and parts and it was my third panther.
@@jasonbarrish9841 That’s really awesome! Main point in this one was P71/P7B.
Hi, would this be almost the same for a 2007 Lincoln TC?
@@BruteForce. Yes. Since it’s the same platform, it should be identical. Let me know how it goes for you!
man you aint lying!
There’s a guy that lives in upstate New York that collects them.

A new subscriber from the UK 🇬🇧 here. I love these Ford Crown Victoria Police cars. Just my opinion but the front end of a white or black car with a push is menacing (probably just a movie thing but lol) The Ford Explorer Police Utility SUV is a cool car too. Its nice to hear a cops opinion of these cars, love the channel- keep up the great work bro ..
@@theredbaron6936 Thank you so much for your comment!
Those Virginia Vics are so nice, I got one former Henrico County police car with 51k miles and 2600 hours, no rust and clean interior, did an oil change, drove it from Chicago to Indy and back to Chicago, now with around 6000 more miles in total, not a single problem other than a minor tire leak repair, it has the 3.55 axle which does kill the fuel economy tbh.
It’s not easy to get one for a reasonable price. But I got lucky and picked up an 05 Detective version for a great price last week and out of the 7 I’ve owned it is the nicest. Another at the same auction that was a little newer and nicer went for 3k more.
@@JZ_Cars Not a thing wrong with 05. I prefer the 06 and up just because it’s nice knowing the idle time regardless of people’s opinion of what that matters, but it’s nice knowing the use.
@@CarolinaCrown98 Yeah I found out more about the 05 being less desirable after I’d already won the auction. Rookie move I guess but this one is in great shape for the age.
@@JZ_Cars It looks it as well. I think you got a winner.
The 910s size filter got me on my 2011 Vic. I have several 820s size filters already for my '02 F150 and an '03 Vic, never new the later model used the smaller filter. Got the filter off the '11 and thought it weird they used a smaller filter, till I went to install the larger filter and I could not get it to thread on (after fighting to get it in place). Had to make a run to the parts store to finish the oil change. It is annoying that the filter dumps onto the power steering rack. Makes such a mess.
@@blupupher Yeah they changed it in 2009. It’s annoying having the oil go everywhere, but there’s not much you can avoid on it. Thankfully it’s still covered with the pan.
Got to get that rust out before it spreads
March 2024 - purchased a 2011 Grand Marquis for 4500 with 160K miles from Georgia with no rust in Michigan. Just gotta keep looking for good deals.
Look where exactly? Certainly not dealers right?
@hakeemsd70m no such thing as a good dealer (used or new) in my personal experience. Have owned 10+ cars and that's my view. I use Marketplace and look for cars with for sale signs by the road.
I’ve seen his car on other videos
@@aaronhudgins5810 he had aired on Love What You Drive. This is the fourth car he has had on RUclips.
@@CarolinaCrown98 yes sir exactly he’s taking great care of of that beautiful car
Seems finding a "good" fresh from auction CVPI is getting harder and harder these days. $3,000 for the car and having to replace the transmission being seen as a good deal shows how things are getting. I have bought 2 CVPI's this year, both in May, both Texas cars and rust free. Can't imagine ever getting a northern car. The '03 I got for $2,250 with 112,000 miles on it. It has full carpet and wheel covers, cloth buckets and vinyl rear seat. Never had a light bar, only 1 antenna in roof, had a cage but removed before purchase, but rear doors and windows work just fine (except a flakey lock actuator and bad window motor on pass side). Was a Sheriff detective car per the maintenance guy that I talked to when I picked it up, and was a "spare" vehicle for general county use for the previous 4 years before being sold with minimal use, it sat for over a year not being driven before I got it. Rear calipers were sticking bad, so had to replace those. Bad battery. Has the bad white paint with a few small and medium sections missing, a bit of surface rust, but nothing bad. Rest of the body is fine except for a dent above the rear drivers tire. Also needed 5 tires, the ones on there were 8 years old, with 2 being in bad shape. Have spent ~$1,800 getting everything sorted and up to par. Still need to get an aftermarket alarm to get keyless entry)and need to find another similar year Panther to grab the stuff to add cruise, but car is a good to go daily now. The other one is a black '11 CVPI SAP with 170,000 miles, but only 650 idle hours. Was $3,350. Has cruise, power front seat with built in arm rests, cloth rear seat, CD player. Was a Texas DPS car (again, no lights installed, so some type of supervisor/admin vehicle?) before it was given to the Texas Department of Emergency Management. Spent another $1,500 on it getting up all sorted (tires, battery, all fluids, serpentine belt and radiator hoses, headlight housing, window motor, about the same stuff as the '03). Roof is a little rough, but no paint coming off, no rust anywhere on it. 2 antenna holes on roof, no lightbar ever installed. It is also now fully sorted and my kid is driving it.
@@blupupher Very nice purchases. Sadly you’re right that prices will never come back down, and getting one for $3,000 is not going to be problem free. Those days are behind us.
Really would love a Crown Vic if they had ever been offered with RHD or if LHD if sold anywhere in Europe. In the UK every Police Force have only used as Traffic cars BMW 330diesels since 06-07.until Dec 23 as BMW now refuse to sell them to British police & its down to the idle hours . Since the 1st 330 diesels started been used by the Police back in 06ish not 1 civilian.car has had a problem , constantly Police cars with the Straight Six diesel are having problems with the gear boxes etc & its by all accounts down to idle hours. Over here they were loved doing over 40mpg 0-60 in under 5.5seconds & restricted to 155mph with oldest 3.0L diesels having 255bhp and current 294bhp all been autos & 95% wagons rest sadan. Majority marked but plenty unmarked. Usually they let go to the public at 150,000 miles or maximum 4 years . I had a 2012 ex unmarked silver 330diesel . As far as i know BMW had a facility-production line for Police cars . Uk bought from BMW 330d 530d & X5 3.0d. BMW are selling petrol models but not many Forces are buying them as they cost much more to run.
they have wawa and shoprites in the south carolina? lol nice vid bro
@@Wildwiggy69 no haha 😂 I don’t know where the closest one is.
Fun to learn the details, thanks.
Since Ford was dumb enough to cancel these why won’t they let some other smarter company buy all of the tooling and open a factory in a “business friendly” state? These cars won’t last forever and there is still a demand for them if they were still being made. SC might even be a good state to open the factory. Florence? Sumter? Orangeburg? Just a few places that could benefit from it economically. The only robust alternative to these now is a Toyota Camry. The Avalon is now gone and that was also a big mistake on Toyota’s part. The Camry is way too expensive but nothing else will be as reliable. A panther was close though.
Just picked up a 2000 grand marquis ls with 40k for $3800
Got my 1998 Crown Vic LX for $1000 back in 2020 at 125k miles, nearly at 150K miles soon and she has been going very strong. Had to replace intake manifold, alternator, brakes/rotors, and some steering components throughout those 4 years, well worth it
Yea your right your most definitely paying that much for a perfect to good condition panther car but nobody should be paying over 4,000 for a fair to poor shape panther car these cars are plentyful
@@bigcountryboy171 I mean I haven’t seen a poor shape one sell for over $4,000. All of the ones that would be a decent driver would be $5,000 - $6,000.
@@CarolinaCrown98 they are worth buying and fixing them up parts are plentiful I've seen decent ones go for 3500
@@bigcountryboy171 Yeah…. I just want more than decent haha. The ones I paid that much for don’t even hardly have paint imperfections (of course a few). That’s what costs so much. Check out the 60K one from SC on Chicago Motor Company.
@@bigcountryboy171 I will also say that the parts are not as plentiful as they were. Especially when it comes to OEM.
@@CarolinaCrown98 they done sold it
My Dad bought a 2005 Grand Marquis GS from his cousin for $1900 in 2018. Then I bought his 68 F-100 from him for the same price.
As usual, whenever I get into what was once considered garbage, it skyrockets in value. As soon as I got into military surplus rifles, they took started going bananas and now I get to see all your fudd "I got mine when you could buy a whole crate of them for $99" posts
@@NYG5 I don’t know how to respond to this haha. Modern patrol cars are junk for sure. That’s from the assembly line obviously.
@@CarolinaCrown98 what I mean is that quite a few years ago I thought about getting a police surplus CVPI but then balled because internet said "muh leaky oil". In 2014 I got into buying vintage firearms, which were no longer $200 for mint condition Mausers and Garands but still reasonable, then by 2015 they started accelerating and by the time Battlefield 1 came out prices became insane, so in the 20 years milsurps were dirt cheap and nobody cared I got to enjoy the very last seconds of it. Now that I'm trying to get into Crown Vics l, that were dirt cheap for years, now all of a sudden they are spiking in price.
@@NYG5 Yeah! It’s pretty much over now. You can still get a fairly decent one for about $4,000-$5,000.
The transmission can be helped by turning off overdrive unless you are driving on the interstate.
@@12yearssober I mean I guess so, but if you maintain it there won’t be a problem. Thankfully most of these fail because of no maintenance.
@@CarolinaCrown98 True.
Bought my police for $3500 police with no issues wanna say 4 or 5 years ago still have it had one issue but it was surprisely cheap to fix I basically wouldn’t call it an issue It had 150000 miles and 3500hours and tbh that actually was a good deal for where I live most police cars are 100000 with 50000 hours and the crank is so burnt out they knock or have no power I will say currently in Texas I’m seeing a mix of pricing I can find a $4500 Vic with ok miles and hours but I didn’t even realize how lucky I got
I bought my 04 in 2022 i paid 4,k she had 57,000 miles
Your fuel economy will not be accurate in any police car because it goes down while you idle. If you idle for 6 hours a day you’ll average low mpg.
@@BigBlockCheese This statement is very true. However, from idling and operating both patrol vehicles in my career, the improvement of efficiency is not there. I get no more in my shift out of the Explorer than I did my CVPI.
@@CarolinaCrown98 fair point.
I’ve owned my ‘08 Norsea Blue since 2013. Bought it with 96k and 300 idle hrs. It now has 126k and 416 idle hrs. It sadly has sat a lot, and needs some TLC . I’m getting started on that. My three biggest projects are replacing the driver side fender. It’s retired from New Haven IN.. so it has some cancer. Hard to find a Norsea fender! The AC is hot. Compressor comes on for two seconds and shuts off.. and .. power steering is out. Not sure if it’s the pump or the variable assist sensor. Needless to say I have some work to do. Paid $6000 for it on 2013.
Dude you are really overhyping a taxi/beat up cop car. This is coming from a car dealer, crown vics are good cars sure but nothing crazy in terms of price. 5K is the minimum for a good car nowadays, cant remember the last time I sold a car under 5k.
@@kdoesauto20 to each is own - keep scrolling. The demand is there for these. They are a dying breed. No there is nothing else on the market like a Vic. There’s a lot of things that make it unique.
