How to forage and cook wild garlic (ramsons)
A complete Wild Garlic identification and foraging guide, with recipes and examples of how to use your foraged food! This guide will teach you where to find Wild Garlic, how to identify the leaves and flowers, and lots of other tips and advice. I also share some of my favourite recipes and how to cook with it. Wild Garlic (AKA Ramsons) is one of things I look forward to foraging every year and it’s one of the things I recommend beginners learn to forage first.

Solo wild camping through Storm Isha in the Brecon Beacons
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.6 месяцев назад
My first solo expedition in years and it was a wild one! Hiking the Dragons Back Ridge in the Brecon Beacons and wild camping through the 70mph gusts of Storm Isha. I considered not going because the winds were so high, but the peak of the storm got pushed later and later until the next day. I camped late and left early after not much sleep; it felt like a proper adventure epic. This route woul...

Great hiking and a short scramble to the summit of Sgùrr a’ Mhadaidh in the Cuillin Hills! A bucket list ridgeline for me. One of the rocky Munros on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Being barefoot is the most natural thing. Obviously one needs to work up to being able to do something like this, but it's so normal for the human body to be barefoot. Well done. I would say, pushing oneself barefoot is great, but only until one isn't safe anymore or one has pain. Put shoes on when you need them. It doesn't impact the legitimacy of what you've done. The community of people that love to be barefoot and wear barefoot shoes are often a community with injuries, not because they spend time barefoot a lot, but because it so often becomes and all or nothing proposition. Be barefoot when it feel great, wear shoes when that's better.

    🔴 A pretty girl with pretty feet, who goes barefoot, is a gift from Nature. It's beauty at its most. It's poetry. A girl who walks barefoot outside, in the street, in public places, shows she's a free spirit, she's natural, she's delicate and feminine... but, at the very same time, determined and tough... she wants to be barefoot and is able to walk like that no matter how rough or hot the ground is. Her dirty soles are well inured, leathery, as nature intended, ready to take her wherever she wants. The dirt highlights the curves of her well shaped feet, by leaving only her arches clean and pristine. Tough soles are the price, and they are beautiful by themselves. A pretty girl with tough soles shows that she's pure, delicate, but strong too... and even sexy ! 🦶🏻☺🦶🏻

    Why do some people like to walk barefoot ? - Motivations range from a desire to reconnect with nature and to seek a spiritual connection to needing to ease physical pain. Among the people we spoke to for this piece, a few choose to be barefoot at all times, while others wear shoes during winters or when stepping into establishments that mandate footwear. - Pleasureful: The point of walking barefoot is to experience the pleasure of feeling the surface beneath your feet. The sensations are marvelous: cool, warm, textured, plush, smooth, rough. In anything in life, if you can experience the sensations of whatever you're doing, this is a beautiful thing. ~ In fact, walking barefoot is natural, so normal. Humans have evolved barefoot and the feet are well-equipped to handle any problems they might encounter on the ground. Aside from accidentally stepping onto something that might be painful (e.g. a Lego) you’ll be fine. In fact, it’s much healthier to go barefoot, than to let your foot sweat inside your shoe, creating a dark, damp and warm environment, perfect for the growth of bacteria and fungi. Aside from that, your average modern shoe is too narrow for the human foot, meaning it will compress and eventually deform your foot causing all kinds of issues !

    Heavy items should put in the top section such the weight rest on your upper back, take some of the weight off your shoulders.

    • @geometerfpv2804
      @geometerfpv2804 2 месяца назад

      The point is to put the weight on the hip belt. How would putting weight up high "take weight off of your shoulders"? It's gonna cause the pack to tip away from your back, and that causes weight on the shoulder straps. This is why packs have "load lifters": to keep the cg as close to you as possible. Keeping weight low helps this. I don't know where so many people got the idea that "weight up high" makes sense.
