    There is a specific trim molding called a corner bead that should be used on the inside corners to create a water tight seal. It looks like you are using an end cap in the corner.

    How is it holding up? When I read the adhesive manufacturer’s install sheets it states that one of the surfaces needs to be porous. They do not consider a painted surface nor moisture/mold resistant drywall as porous. They state you need a solvent based frp adhesive.

      I either use DeWalt 10" 24 tooth (24T) or 32 tooth (32T) blade. Both are their recommended for standard use on a table saw.

    Can you explain what is the different between 21 degree and 30 degree.

    • @begincarpentry2184
      @begincarpentry2184 2 года назад

      The higher the angle number, the more sharply angled (away from straight). In terms of nail guns, practically speaking, a higher degree nailer means a more focused nail driving tip and the bottom of the nail sleeve being pulled closer to (or even behind) the handle. As I understand it, 21 degree is more common on the east coast in the US, while 30 is "California style." My choice was based on this, and among other things, seeing that 21 degree nails were more commonly available in more sizes and variations at my local hardware/box stores / lumber yards.

    How about using a laminate roller to squeeze out the air bubbles? Can you clean (wipe down ) the backside with Acetone? Or did you just blow off the dust and wipe with a damp cloth? Im looking to build a cargo trailer shower with the FRP

    • @begincarpentry2184
      @begincarpentry2184 2 года назад

      As I understand it, acetone would be used for cleanup. A pressure roller might be very effective, but I'd be careful not to transfer any discoloration (if for example the roller is made of rubber) to the FRP. I used a vacuum to both clean and blow off particles, and I wiped down the (existing) wall area with a lightly damp cloth before cutting the material, allowing time for the wall to completely dry. I wish you luck and success on your shower install, let me know how it turns out.

    What would you say the cause of the door coming out of plumb was?

    • @begincarpentry2184
      @begincarpentry2184 2 года назад

      Good question. The client complained that ever since the floor was redone, the door doesn't close right anymore. I think the jack stud rotted or the floor settled, but it's hard to say for sure because I didn't take off the door frame to check. It's also possible that the door was installed out of plumb, and that the lower hinge was installed closer to the strike side than the top hinge was.

    • @begincarpentry2184
      @begincarpentry2184 2 года назад

      I like to score my cut with a knife first, then I find that a good blade set to the correct depth, and going slow prevents any noticeable splintering. Tape works too, but was unnecessary on this cheapo door. Thanks for the comment!

    • @begincarpentry2184
      @begincarpentry2184 2 года назад

      They've definitely sacrificed strength and durability to drastically reduce the price. These doors were probably designed for basement closets but the price and appearance are so attractive that they're now used all around the house. Thanks for your comment!
