Project Thor - New Battery Mount
We get the Alpha Customs battery mount installed into Thor. It was surprisingly quick and I would hands down recommend the Alpha Customs kit.

Project Thor HMMWV - Turbo and Brakes
Good job involving your kiddos, hey, looks like we bought the same Humvee, with the same issues, all of them😆 breaks, leaky turbo, trans stuck on second and a rat nest of wiring in the battery compartment. 🤪 BTW. I love your background music . Kuddos!
thanks man! good luck. these 1114s are tough, but rewarding
Where did you get the information revolving steps for different error codes ? Is it just included with the vehicle having the same issue here and I see the diagram you have is helpful but I’m using only schematics and don’t have that flow chart
I have the 4l80 troubleshooting guide
drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Im_0c8ZNuadpd0pLc7uYtQaKzo4Ay20t
My 99 1097 humvee was working fine now is tripping the red breaker by the passenger side. Ao frustrating don't have any codes but i cant figure out the problem
Check your ground
@@terrafusiontx which one?
Take that back. The breaker could be bad. No codes is a a good indicator of that.
@@terrafusiontx ill try another breaker and see.
Did that work out?
Guess only question i have is why? Whats the benefit or need to relocate the batteries. On my M1165 they are in the factory location and the effort to move all the electrical would far outway any benefit.
My main reason is to make the front seat adjustable. Second is too move all the relays and breakers where my kiddos might kick and damage them or worse get seriously hurt.
The transmission control module says right on it not to disconnect with the battery connected. Did you do your J1 checks with the battery disconnected or what?
It's been a hot minute since I did this but I followed the TM for troubleshooting the transmission. I do remember disconnecting everything.
@@terrafusiontx Thanks. For anyone else doing this I disconnected the battery, disconnected the J1 connector, then reconnected the battery (with the J1 still disconnected) to start the truck for further tests as directed by the technical manual. The manual never really explains that procedure.
LOL!!!! SO MUCH WORK ON A $3500 WHORE, GET A CLASSIC CAR!!!!!!
technically this thing is a classic. sooo...
I look forward to seeing this. Im about to do the same thing!
man... me too. it's been sitting for too long in my garage
Dude, WHAT are you building??
Rebuilding. Look at my first few videos. :)
Something you can do with the extra length of line instead of cutting it just push the extra over the hard line so if you do get a hole you have extra line to cut
Good idea. A side note, I'm now planning on relocating the fuel filter so I can better access it without needing to move around the 400a generator.
FYI, when you attached the main fuel hose, you turned the start switch to "ON" while waiting for WAIT light to go out. You checked for leaks and were excited when you saw none. Just turning switch to ON doesn't activate the fuel pump! That only operates when engine is running/turning. So, you can't check for leaks without it running
Yeah. I realized that. Lol
on the diagram for the pins the upper half has upper case and the lower half has lower case the diagram shows as an example pin D and pin f just pay attention to that
Seriously. Pay attention to this. I got twisted arounda few times on it.
Man, I'm tellin' ya. They left the trucks in Afghanistan in better condition than what they auction off to the public here in the United States. Smh
Hah! Seriously
Super cool 💪
Thanks!
M1114’s have gotten a lot cheaper. You can get 51/65’s for that price. I’m probably going to buy a 67 non runner for around $8k or so.
I thought about the non runner path but logistically would have been hard
Hello. Can you link the amazon part you bought to bypass the heater. Thanks

Its a wild ride. Im on my second HMMWV.🍻🇺🇸
I'm hoping to keep it going into the future, but i'm certain my wife won't let me have more than one in my driveway. lol
Good luck with the BIG projekt !
Thanks!
Did you get any fault codes flashing for you in the trans bulb?
Just 1 - 2 over and over. It was weird.
@@terrafusiontx Any trouble with the TPS or did you measure it?
@@thannaas I got a failed test on the TPS itself when i did the test. The whole side the TPS was on was sticking to. So i ended up ordering new IP and TPS. The other failed test was the engine RPM sensor.
@@terrafusiontx How did you test the TPS? Measuring the volts? Does the RPM sensor from the engine work with the transmission? I thought it was just for the STE/ICE troubleshooting system?
I followed the 4L80E troubleshooting guide. The TPS requires a specific adapter to effectively test it. Black Dog Customs makes an aftermarket adapter. However, i managed to at least confirm a resistance test through the sensor. The engine rpm sensor is used for the transmission and has steps to test it in the guide. Here's a link to the guide. drive.google.com/file/d/1AGKR6E0vreqOW-2GwPsFf6vGc0GJX6VQ/view?usp=share_link
Thanks for posting a link to the tool.
You betcha!
I think the lights look ugly they should of keep the old setup
Agreed. I keep trying to figure out if I can swap the hood with the non turbo off I don't do the AC radiator.
Brother. Listen. I had my trans "stuck" in second for a year. It was the TPS. I don't know if the TPS is bad or not, but I did something one day that made a world of difference. I just unplugged the TPS sensor and took the truck for a drive. It fucking started shifting!!! I was so happy. Anyway now I know the issue lies with the TPS, the only issue is I'm not sure if the sensor just needs to be calibrated or replaced. But for now, I'm just driving it with the sensor unplugged. Please let me know if this works for you. Good luck!
That's good advice. I have two problems though. My injection pump sticks while accelerating AND is stuck in limp mode. So right now I'm pulling the pump. Actually did some work this morning on it. Video coming soon. :)
How does the the transmission know how to shift when the TPS is disconnected? Is it only for the kickdown shifting?
Whoops! Never mind about where’d you get the line! I just saw the link! 🍻
Good luck brotha! Let me know what you find out.
Very helpful. Thank you. I have a leak in the same vicinity and I think it’s gonna be one of these return lines, or the pump to filter line. Funny thing is I JUST got done changing the fuel pump this wknd- I wonder if the new pump was more powerful and sprung the leak? Where did you order the German fuel tubing? Thanks again
Good luck!
I have a leak too.
Great... Thank you for posting... Looking forward to future videos.
Thanks man!
Before you do anything else, you need to stop and clean that vehicle good. Pressure and degrease it. Anything you take apart and replace you're risking getting dirt and crud all in it, plus, why get filthy if you dont have to? Theres a guy that has videos on here his name is Dakota Woods I believe, he has very in depth and step by step videos of what you need to service and check on these when you get them before you take off driving or running them really. Id check his stuff out before you get too far along, it may save you some time and money in the long run.
100% agree!!! So I'm struggling with ordering of it all. I need to fix the fuel leaks BEFORE I clean it. I'm thinking the big leak is a fuel injector, but the two fuel injectors in question are under the generator. I might be able to reach them from the dog house. I've got to get the brakes working again so I can move it into the driveway to start washing the inside. I love Dakota! He's a big reason I decided to do this little adventure. :)
I also need to fix the exhaust leak on the turbo. I might be able to hold off on that till later though.
Thanks for posting. Greeting from Katy.
Eventually I'm going to be able to join the group during meet ups here in Houston. LOL
Nice vid.
thanks!
Aye, I saw this at the auction on govplanet, didn't expect to see a video of it
I was eye balling any 1114 over the past year. Seemed to be underrated compared to the 1123s. I got it for a good price.
You can see the exhaust leak coming from the doghouse in this video.
Yep
Awesome project! I love those M1114’s!
dude... as i was eye-balling auctions for the past 9 months, i was really surprised how cheap they were going compared to the 1152s or even 1123s. aside from some serious blow by it's close to advertised.
Looks like egr but your not staying on the picture long enough
egr?
My 1151 had loose bolts on the down pipe. Just tightened up and good to go. It was a non runner. Found the leak when I first started it.🍻🇺🇸
@@terrafusiontx EGR/ is the CDR valve on the right side valve cover. They remove it for de-mill. It's part of the fording kit witch you said you don't have. Your winch control is mounted where the valve would be.
