They didn't do a recall but right after you made this video they updated the extended warranty for this issue. So it will be covered by the dealership.

well known problem with the subframe for the model years between 2006 and 2014 for the glk E w212 Slk r171 r172 c klasse w204 and some other models of the period

This is a single clutch ….

Mine did the same thing also the subframe rusted holes all the way through them these things should be recalled that's nonsense just barely hit 100,000 miles

OMG, mine did the same thing 5 months ago. Both rear control arms were gone on mine. The welds were completely rotted out. And had to go in for a hydraulic active suspension system to get bled out. Now the air compressor is about trashed. So done with this POS!

I had mine done at an independent shop. Was able to take the pictures and receipts to a dealer and was reimbursed for the work that was performed.

Had to deal with this today actually lol. I’m in school, and we had a gmc Yukon come in with miss fire on cylinder 7. Dealership couldn’t figure it out and just said it needed a new engine. We did exactly what you mention. Coils, injectors, and then spark plugs. The spark plug was fouled and had carbon build up. Replaced and it had no misfires after lmao. Not the first time it’s happened either

I cleaned it throughly and replaced the injectors and it ran like a top!

Excellent video. Having it done on my E class now, and apparently there’s now a TSB on the subframes and they’ve extended the warranties on them for 20yrs. I read there was a class action about it. They said it’ll take two weeks to get the parts and replace it, but man, when braking it felt exactly as you said, it’s like the back end is swinging out. 👍

well, did you clean all the metal out?

Working on one right now and its a pain in the ass with no lift and its rusty as can be I have to cut off the camber bolt for the spring bucket as well as the lower control arm one just to get the arm out

This is a well known problem on the W204 and a few other Mercedes models. I had the rear subframe on my own W204 replaced under warranty. Being a UK car it is covered by the European 30 year corrosion warranty. As others have said, the corrosion warranty in the US has recently been extended to 20 years. My right rear ABS ring delaminated after the rear subframe replacement so I had to fix it myself.

Mercedes Benz just extended the warranty on these to 20 years. I received my notice today. They did so after a class action lawsuit. It should cost the customer nothing to have this fixed.

In MN just noticed rust starting in this spot - so thanks for this. Is this something NHTSA should be alerted to?

Thanks man. I'm swapping out the Fuel Pump on my Land Rover LR 4. I was wondering where the Fuel Pump Module was located just in case it needs to be replaced. I had to remove the Fuel Tank to swap out the Fuel Pump.

Can I please ship my M5 to you dory? I need my transmission dropped, clutch, slave cylinder, flywheel, and my gear position sensor wiring, inspected located ontop of the trans next to the solenoids your 3 hours away I can drive it to you please reach back out I am in Michigan

I’m dealing with the same exact problem in New York. My car only has 124k miles and I’m really contemplating junk the car. I cannot believe that is not a recall in United States for this problem. I’m UK, Mercedes is replacing subframes at not cost to the owner but here in America there is not protection for consumers.

Can I reuse the clutch if the guy installed the clutch with the ring and it didn't engage the clutch only rubbed the outer side of the revits above the big ring. Then after taking it apart he removed the ring before it was put back into place. Now I have another mechanic going to try and put the ring back in maybe with a vice or press and reinstall the clutch. Do you think it'll be ok?

I've got the exact vehicle with the exact problem. Do you recommend replacing the rear subframe or junking the vehicle? Im in SE Michigan...so similar climate. 150k miles, excellent condition other than the rear subframe rot!

How much do they charge for timing chain

Is there an easy way to tell if the timing change has been changed under this recall? Does Nissan use any type of marking or brand of parts that I can see without opening up the timing cover? Thank you!

This actually a common problem ,mine has 124k on it the same exact issue the tire broke off while driving. Now the front suspension is all over the place too. These things after 100k need a full over haul with new components
