The knot isn't that big a problem. If it's in the way, untie it and rethread the shock cord so the knot is on the outside of the field journal, between two of the grommets. No knot inside a notebook. Lochby gear is cool. My new EDC front pocket wallet is one of their Sidekicks.

Hehe! I’m glad you like the pens! I sent them because you don’t like them…..but….that Sharpie is a metal barrel and doesn’t flex like the plastic pens that you typically run across. You should try one of the Lamy rollerballs, they are probably my favorite standard type pens. When i work, i carry an all pocket setup, a pocket notebook and a Kaweco 2 pen case with an EF and a Medium. That’s all I need.

Loving the pillarbox red cover ( named for our post boxes that are bright red here in England ). Really interested to know what you'll be reading in 2025...I'm currently reading a book called " Are the nurses alright ? " which is a sort of fictionalised story of a nurse doing her mental health training in the UK in the eighties.As I too did my mental health nurse training in the early eighties it's triggering lots of memories & laugh out loud moments. We're expecting a storm here on Friday & Saturday with high winds predicted.The met office ( our weather service ) have given it a Welsh name which I can neither remember or pronounce. Every winter, I watch the Lord of the Rings movies. My son has the Editor's Cut versions which are SO much better! I have it on my list to start watching in a few days. I just finished reading Jane Eyre again. The classics are classics for a REASON! ☺

I’ve kinda done the same thing in a std size TN. I bought a 2025 planner that has 2/3’s of the book as a notebook. It’s chonky, but i really only use it for work. I keep another std for a journal and a passport I use as a catch all. Don’t be complaining about the weather……it was 2 degrees when I woke up here in WV.

My fave is a Uni Jetstream multipen, but I'm afraid it won't fit in your magnet thing.

I have a Parker 25 fountain pen on me now but I also have a Zebra G750 (refitted with the Japanese .5mm gel refil, Sharpie metal gel pen refitted with a Uni .7mm gel refill and a Pentel mechanical pencil. I also have a Uni 4+1 muti pen/pencil hanging out in my bag.

I'm glad I don't have to share my pens at work. 😂 My daily driver at work is usually a Pilot Prera, fine nib, Pilot's standard black ink.

9:14 I bought a pack of metal fold over crimp connectors on Etsy. They keep the elastic nice and flat. 👍🏼

It's funny... you don't like blue. And I avoid black pens like the plague! We don't like what we don't like! 🤣 And I agree with you... writing with cheap, cheap ballpoints with gloppy ink is just painful.

What I want to say is that I spent less than $ 100 from the fake LV I bought from kislux . The quality is very good. I spent four years on the plane, the bus, and anywhere. As a rag. I specially smelled the bag and compared the stitching color. This is the most authentic I have ever seen. To this day, this bag is still very strong. Although it has been abused, the material is still great.

I have a September Leather TN and I actually untied the elastic for inserts, and put the knot on the outside of the notebook cover. It works much better and I can load it up with inserts.

Hello my friend! Do not use this one or Travellers Notebook, watching your videos only because like your attitude. I have my system which works best for me, called Everbook and I’m not going to change it, but I do enjoy how you tell more and more about different popular, original notebooks and copies (like you did with pocket sized Lochby). However, your Fountain pen issue which you describe here is, probably, not an issue at all I think. This is mentioned to be a “field journal”, and waxed canvas and so on is mentioned to be used in rough conditions, in the fields, mountains and so on. I don’t think you will want to bring there your precious fountain pen, rather cheap ballpoint, or Parker Jotter at the most, what do you think? This is why the pen loop is made that way I guess. Same about the handle on the back of the notebook. It is ment not to make it more accessible in terms of getting your notebook from the bag, but to thread your hand through it if you have to take notes when you are up in the mountains where is windy and so on. To make it more comfortable to jot down notes while standing with one hand. So I thing they did pretty good job for those who are using it the way it ment to be used😅 I see this cover as a rough soldier who’s ready to be used in tranche to record coordinates of enemies or something like that. Covered in mud, usable even in heavy gloves (that’s why they have that closure thing I guess) and prepared for anything that you can throw at him

Ha! Great video. Yeah. I tried the field notes. Nope! Yet another thing in my pocket. Pass! Taking quick notes on my phone is just fine. But there you go. I don't like carrying things in my pockets of I can avoid it. Now that I have to carry reading glasses, I tuck a Parker Jotter ballpoint in there as well. Rings. I have a William Hannah fancy ring notebook and I kinda love it. But, I most often pull a page or two out. Write. Then put them back. That's the joy of the rings. And I only keep X number of pages in there at a time. But yeah, I hate spiral-bound notebooks for the reason you specified. :) It things i don't like? Complexity. No washi tape and elaborate "spreads" for me. I'm not a scrapbooker. Heh.

What's wrong with things that don't move? What I can't stand is anyone who doesn’t know the difference between standing still and pens & paper. Those who can't spell have no business with words.

I think the name of the ring binder you were talking about is the MeePlus. I haven't tried a ring binder yet, but the MeePlus comes in a lot less expensive than the Plotter. I never really liked my hand hitting the rings when I used ring binders in the past, but maybe the smaller 11mm or 16mm rings might make a difference. I like the concept of the ring binder because you can add pages if you need more space, but I still haven't pulled the trigger on one. Thanks for the information. You always give a lot to think about that hadn't occurred to me.
