Using a hydraulic press to install a rubber hub bushing into a stainless steel boat prop. The insertion tool used in this video is called a hub insertion funnel. There really is not a lot of info about them on the web. Most prop shops just custom-make their own. Any good machinist can make them. Isn' t warming the stailess steel make it "softer" and making the stainless prop less durable and i think you lose 1knot when fixed...isnt that right?

noticed the splines are on the opposite side of the hub nut. Is this the proper direction to install the hub bushing. If so mine was installed incorrectly. 87 Johnson 150 GT
This was the correct way.
Hello. I called at America Nautics and they told me that there is no rubber for my propeller. This is the propeller series: Quicksilver 48 13702 A41 21P for Yamaha 150 hp Please help me find the rubber ! Tks

Im new to boating. We spun our prop and it happens to be this old school rubber hub assembly. Is it easy to change to a plastic hub? Can I just plug and play or do I have to change some things in the outdrive as well? Thanks in advance

Can the prop be used right after the press?
Yes but you must go at idle speed forward for 5 minutes then the same backwards. Then your good.

Do you use the sleeve as a guide? And how much press do I need. There isn't anyone local to do it. But have access to presses at work

Its more of a funnel that compresses the rubber into the prop. Its not recommended to try yourself. A lot can go wrong or damage to the prop or hub. If you only have one to do it would probably be best and cheaper to mail your prop to a prop shop for repair.
Vibration all day
No Sir! I have never had that issue.
How did you check it to make sure it’s the right pitch? You didn’t add the cup back. I bet that thing vibrates
A pitchometer was used to insure accuracy. The cup was added back just didn’t show how it was done. Look out for a full cupping video soon. No vibrations and a perfect balance on this prop. A professionally repaired propeller does not vibrate no matter how bad the prop was before.
Did not show pitch repair or thrust hub /spline installation.
You are right, using the pitchometer was not shown in this video. Maybe in a future video. The hub this prop uses is just a drop in hub kit like the XHS or Flo Torq 2 system.
This is an easy fix but what if there's a piece of the stainless steel that's missing like a half inch by 2 in long piece that got chopped off that's what happens when you have a boat how do you fix that and repair that that's my question this video is for Mickey Mouse repair job!
