Hi! Love your videos and really appreciate your insights. I work at an agency while also running new campaigns for my family’s eBike company. We’ve had a Google Search campaign going for about a month, and we’re currently just breaking even as expected. Because these eBikes are high-ticket items, getting 30-50 conversions for optimization is pretty unrealistic before switching to max conv, so I’ve decided to bite the bullet & launch a Performance Max campaign with an optimized feed and strong creative assets. Our Search campaign is solid, but we only have four SKUs. Was using max conv for search for a while but hasn't done nothing but give high cpcs. What's your thoughts on applying feeder strategy here using Max Clicks on Search (to capture cheaper traffic) and Max Conversions on PMax. In assumption PMAX will remarket to the people from search anyway I’m also launching Meta campaigns to boost brand recognition and help with remarketing as these products have longer attribution windows so more touchpoint for customers is needed . I’m looking at a 30/70 budget split between Search and PMax. Not sure if there’s even a need for a separate Shopping campaign with so few SKUs. What do you think? Also, in a recent skincare brand campaign, I tried competitor-focused ad groups on Max Conversions but it made cost per sale to skyrocket with minimal conversions, while Max Clicks performed better for much cheaper. That experience makes me lean toward Max Clicks in certain high-ticket or competitor-targeting scenarios. Would love to hear your thoughts on this approach!
I would advise: shopping campaign for feeder and Feed Only PMax with your target ROAS. Thanks for the shoutout, glad you like my content.

@ So you wouldn’t suggest a search campaign for this instance. To be fair its quite a visual product people like to see before buying. So id do a shopping campaign as max clicks along with feed only pmax. Can i set a target roas though if it hardly has any conversion data and if its a new pmax campaign. Sure! Here’s a more casual, conversational rewrite: Can I even set a target ROAS on a brand-new PMax campaign if it barely has any conversion data yet? Also, don’t you think using the full PMax placements-like display remarketing and RUclips-could be useful? If not, what about running a small-budget PMax campaign without a feed, just for awareness and remarketing? It’s a $1,000 product, so I feel like customers might need a few touchpoints before buying. Ideally, I’d test properly, but the budget’s tight. Does this approach make sense for a high-ticket item or just focusing on standard shopping & feed only and maybe utilise meta for retargeting etc
Yes, regardless of the conversion history, for feeder strategy you should go with a target ROAS on the converter campaign. You could keep the shopping campaign on Max clicks or lower target ROAS (half of that on converter campaign). Nothing against search but if this is an ecom account, you are better off with Shopping campaign. You could use search if the account didn't have products coming from GMC.

What if the URL with thank you page is with long URL and in tha last part is the /status/success ,is this also included in the "With thank you page" scenario using the URL - OBTAIN option? or other way around?
You can track with the element in the URL, easier than the method I have shown.

You don’t have to run a separate Remarketing campaign, PMax will do it, as long as you have dynamic remarketing tag is setup properly.

Thanks for the shoutout. -The ROAS goal really depends on your profit margins. -Yes, I would usually start with $2 cap and adjust based on average CPC. - Yes, same conversion goal to shopping campaign -Haven’t tested it on high-ticket yet but it should work. I wouldn’t throw in too many products though, probably start testing with 1 or two.
How can i run pmax campaign on mobile devices
PMax already serves on mobile, more than 70% is mobile traffic.
what budget allocation you would suggest between Std shopping & PMax ?
I would start with 59:59, and reallocate based on ad serving, average CPC, and ROAS.
Although we are not using any remarketing list but still get flagged by Health in Personalized Advertising policy in our standard search campaigns. Could you please explain about why we get this alert?
Try to appeal for a manual review. That should solve the issue.

But what is data layer code 4:26? To pass purchase we need to add data layer code? I dont understand the process and the consequence of it. I use max clicks with a bid cap and let Google do its thing, no manual CPC.

I would not start with PMax until I have like 50+ conversions in the account and I have a customer list to train Google’s algorithm.
I am seeing amazing results with feeder strategy for search. Standard shopping is way harder because the relevance goes out the window and I have to add hundreds of negative keywords. I prefer low tROAS.

how we should calculate the budget for the campaign?
My general rule for the minimum is 50 x average CPC for the feeder campaign and 1/3rd of that for the converter campaign. The upper limit really depends on your go to market strategy.
Feed only PMax vs Standard shopping, which is the best? I am slightly biased to Feed only PMax due to the larger inventory (though knowing standard shopping can acquire cold users). What do you think?
With some decent conversion history, I will go for feed only Pmax as it can dynamic remarketing provide the tags are setup properly. For absolutely new accounts, I will probably test waters with shopping and the bring in feed only pmax for feeder strategy.

If we not have vareint products and we place high roas off p max and if we have multiple p max campaigns
I would advise testing with one PMax campaign first with an identical Shopping campaign. Variants were needed earlier to run both shopping and pmax on the same products but now Google allows both campaigns to run together. Though you can still use variants to open gateways of traffic from other keywords embedded in title and description of the variants.

Yes 100%. John actually shared this strategy for lead gen and I tested it for ecommerce. Just use Broad + Target CPA on the converter campaign and exact same structure with Exact + Max clicks on feeder campaign.

Same thing Sachin. Its an old metric, back in the analog world people called it Marketing efficiency ratio for all marketing spend attributed to all revenue, in the digital age its now evolved as all media spend to all revenue.

Hi my Google ads account was suspended due to unacceptable business practices policy violation, but seriously I'm not able to find it, and I have made multiple appeals, later on I checked my website and due to theme changes there was 174 demo contents pages which I removed it still it is not unsuspend now I started to check my all the campaign and found that there was some mistake but Google ads do not let us fix or delete the campaign till it will be reactivate so please tell me what to do to fix it.
