Letter from Victor Banjo to J.T.U. Aguiyi-Ironsi
Banjo didn’t know he was dealing with Sharks he thought he was dealing with gentlemen
May Lt. Col Victor Banjo continue to be at one with his Maker 🙏🏾
Without a doubt Col Victor Banjo was a brilliant, forthright, cerebral and fearless officer and gentleman. He was well mannered and deeply charismatic. A lot of his colleagues were jealous of him and hence his troubles within the Nigerian Army. Though his life was cut short very early. He will always be a hero for those who know the truth and have decided to say it as it is. For the lily livered liars who twisted the truth, shame on them. Just as those who decided to keep quiet in the face of injustice.
😢😢 continue to rest Lt. Col V. Banjo. You were an innocent man.
All the stories i have heard about col.Banjo have been sad one,GOD did revenged for him as the Biafrian government did succeed.though he should have returned to the south west after he was released from detention in the south easth
He was a Saboteur and cost Biafra the WAR
To those mumu Yorubas who always think you can trust people just because you want good for them, not thinking or having second thoughts on the people you are trying to help
That is why you can't trust igbos with little power be careful dealing with igbos when it comes to power or politics
1966 Coup was not stage on Sunday. If what you are reading was actually from Victor Banjo, then it must have date and signature. You lied!

Banjo had prominent brothers and sisters.. FORMER VICE CHANCELLOR OF THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN PROFESSOR AYO BANJO.DR BAYO BANJO, PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL POSTGRADUATE MEDICAL COLLEGE OF NIGERIA WERE HIS BROTHERS.HIS FAMOUS SISTER WAS PROFESSOR ADETOUN OGUNSEYE NEE BANJO.The first woman professor in the whole of Nigeria.
Your father's loyalty killed him... Your father deserves better... I am lost for words... Your dad deserves better
Yep! One of the finest ever.
I would want to know, seeing long outlived 1967 till his demise in the 2000s,was there any effort made to contact ikemba on his role in the sad demise of your dad. Eternal rest o lord grant the soul of victor banjo, may the blood of the innocent shed find appeasement.
He trusted them, they betrayed him. They jailed him unjustly. They later have him killed unjustly. They are betrayals indeed
What a gallant soldier. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Looking at how slim and the perfect man he was, makes me wonder if the country can ever again produce such a gentle, intelligent and brave soldier.
A true Nigerian hero
Ironsi and Ojukwu did him dirty. it's sad we allowed the innocent to suffer for no reason. May his soul rest in peace.
Gen Ironsi who was part of the Coup saw Col Victor Banjo as a Threat
Ojukwu did not kill your father, go and ask well
Ojukwu didn't kill him, all this are lies
On whose order was he killed then?
@@greatestgbasgbos9696 yes he is dead. Good riddance to bad rubbish
It is well. I can’t even imagine what you must all have gone through. May God have mercy on his soul in Jesus name.
Your father major victor banjo is an HERO
Am a young panafrican activist who got interested in Nigerian studies starting from Biafran genocide to the unbearable living conditions of the people in northern Nigeria and the current state of affairs of Nigeria, however, I ll admit this is one of the most heartbreaking stories I happened to come across. My sincere condolences to the family of this great son of Africa who every young African with a liberated mind would wish to at least call uncle if not daddy. Your name shall forever live sir.
Let someone ask this woman about victor fatai adebanjo mother....she never go see this woman
Victor Banjo's story is so touching and heart rending,he was a victim of envy by some of his colleagues who couldn't stand his brilliance being a first class Graduate of mechanical engineering so many of the khaki boys couldn't stomach his guts hence he was jailed without being a partaker in the Nzeogwu coup, providence took him to Biafra where he became a scape goat and was executed on trumped up charges of coup plot because he failed to Storm Lagos from Benin, whatever name he might be called he wasn't a traitor but a victim of circumstances may the Lord comfort his family and rest his soul
Wow. I have read quite a lot about Colonel Victor Banjo. To see a letter he personally wrote being read by his daughter is really moving. May his soul continue to rest in peace.
Sorry to hear of your father's loss. But the greed of men back then including your father was horrible. Sorry to say this but quite frankly all those men in the army from that period are the reasons the country is what it is today. I hope you understand the pain we the ordinary men suffer today is as a result of the greed and carelessness by the military men from that era for our Great nation.
And including your father too. Your father's and your greed is so horrible!
Wow what a sad story....🙄🙄🙄
The story of Lt Col Victor Banjo resonates with the injustice that was embedded in the infant nation Nigeria was then.
They did this to an innocent man because of their fear and envy of him. Why did n"t they give him a compulsory retirement? Victor Banjo, those who arrested and killed you will never rest peacefully in their own graves.
Though I hate military games and sabotage that was why I dropped at a time.....remember that they were 4 officers that were executed the same time bc of sabotage .their sabotage lead to the defeat of Biafra by Britain/Nigeria after Enugu was captured.Their act lead to the capture of Enugu ,then capital of Biafra.......Hope you understand now why Ojukwu and his men executed 4 of them the same time. After their phone calls were wire tapped on how Enugu should be captured (3 Easterners and then Banjo from West) Had it been the succeeded. ...4 of them would have been super heroes today.....game of chase.
I can get you a copy bro. Achebe exhibited it in his latest book There was a country
