Was there ever a part two to this video? I could not find one unfortunately

That sucks. So what method are you gonna use to burn down the whole farm now?

Pro tip. Hive beetles love pollen pattties and hives situated in shade .
@@garrybrischke53 oh I’m very careful with the pollen patties
Thanks for sharing your mistakes, it would have been really unpleasant to witness but you're right in that it helps the rest of us. I love this set up, the deep litter walk in aviary method is not uncommon in Australia and it seems a lot more natural for the quail! So nice to see rather than cages.

top bar hives are great, I have 4 of them. Use your smoker to smoke the bees down so you can close them up. If you have strong colonies you won't have a wax moth problems. Great video and thanks for sharing
@@cheryleesbees thank you! yeah I had two swarms this year and they were full of honey, but after the swarm kinda had a hard recovery

@@AngelaScene18 agreed
Been there, those cute small birds can be vicious to each other. I had previously bought chicks at a local feed store, and I'm just beginning to hatch quail. I think I'll try what some quail breeders talk about - to breed only from quail that don't peck the other's eyes. Of course, I'm using standard size cages, otherwise the raccoons dig or tear open the cages and kill all of the birds.
@@musicteacher5757 never had that happen I have traps laid out all around the cage cause I lost a lot of cats

Nice, never used oats in a mead before. Why not use a whole pomegranate may I ask? You wouldn't risk preservatives as much with the fruit itself. Interesting recipe though, might try it myself eventually.
Thank you! Yeah you just have to be careful about the ingredients you just have to know what chemicals to avoid
I like to use hot peppers and crushed red pepper (in moderation). They can’t taste the spice and the capisaicin in the pepper is great for gut health

@@cheryleesbees How to Treat Honeybees for Mites the Natural Way with Essential Oils! ruclips.net/video/DVaiz5YNvMk/видео.html This video is my super in-depth on on the oils and the ingredients are the description
@@HurtHomestead nah thanks but im not convinced and your video was far from in-depth and offers no scientific efficacy data to back up your claim. I am all for natural treatments and essential oils but have some doubt around the use of vegetable oil as a carrier and the health impact on the bees.
Speculation of jobs. People only care about the stuff that is directly linked to their job. The more they know about there field, the more money they make, wich is the most important goal in our capitalist society. It's very sad, that it works this way. A lot of animals suffer because of that.

Economics my guy. People can’t afford sht and they go for what’s cheapest, which obviously comes at a cost
@@RobustBanzai if you are doing everything right you should break even, with what’s in the store and if the economy goes in the hole everyone is gonna wish they had food and build the skills that’s how I see it, yeah the cost is what holds me back from doing more
@HurtHomestead "if you are doing everything right you should break even" That's just not true. In some areas people work multiple jobs and still have to live in their cars. Even if they can afford something else, it may leave them with almost nothing left. In general, most people live paycheck to paycheck. Cost of living goes up much faster than wages and that trend has been going on for decades. Then there's also things like food deserts for example. People may not have access to good quality food for a multitude of reasons.
@@lelboi3557 that is true, this video isn’t targeting those people
