      We havent tried, his setup is turbo limited at the 630mark. It's almost to much for his setup at that point. Car still has all the stock suspension under it with a lowering spring. It's a little sketchy for a 73 year/old to be ripping on the street.

    Thanks for all the info would prefer a different trans gearing or will the rear gear do the trick.

    • @ForceEngineering
      @ForceEngineering 22 дня назад

      Depends on what I'm doing. This gearing works great for the 1/2 mile. For an 1/8 setup I'd leave the trans gearing and add rear gear. Say a 4.30 or so. For 1/4 mile it needs a 3.73 out back. With that, id like to have a high ratio 1st gear to get back to the correct starting line ratio.

    • @1jzae86
      @1jzae86 22 дня назад

      @ Ok , so the transmission gear is fine but the rear gear will get you where you want to be. I was just wondering if like a 1.84 1.44 would work with like a 3:55 for the 1/4 mile.

    • @ForceEngineering
      @ForceEngineering 22 дня назад

      @1jzae86 3.73 in the back is the right gear for 1/4 mile. But yes, the 1.84/1.44 setup would be better than the 1.64 in it now

    I have watched these videos . I don't think a 347 stroker ,or 331 is a coyote engine . No point in revving a comp xr 282 hr past 7000. It peaks earlier in a stroker . If it was a solid roller stroker ....it was made for it sure . You don't have a set of afr heads or trickflows on there either. That cam peakes at 6500 in a 302 . I would think you might get 5600 out of with 190 11 r heads , decent intake ......

    • @ForceEngineering
      @ForceEngineering 22 дня назад

      Thanks for watching, and your opinion! My thoughts are this. HP is math from tq and rpm. Could it use more to get to 7-7500, definitely. And as you stated, the heads are likley a limit up there.

    190 or 205 11r heads .......I would think if it was carburated too. Maybe a airgap .....more compression . You could go with a 282 hr cam .....maybe something like a tfs stage 3 with other upgrades . You would crack 400 whp. I really don't see even if he 4:33 upgraded the heads , compression . Ran a rpm 2 intake bigger injectors 30 lbs. Why he could not crack 360 whp . Comp xr 274 hr , the tfs 2 is fine . I would think anything like a summit e303 plus or b303 plus or x303 would work fine 349 is not bad !!

    @Force Engineering You might want edit the title to reflect that this is the 2.4 LE5 Turbo Kit. Since it appears by reading the comments that most don't know or understand that the 2.4 LE5 was not turbocharged from the factory, and was only rated at 177HP and 166TQ. I found your video by searching for: "2.4 Pontiac Solstice turbo", since the question; Can I turbocharge my 2.4, is a somewhat frequent question in Facebook groups. Also, when Solstice & Sky owners ask about adding a turbo to their 2.4, I always tell them the importance of having it turned correctly, since tuning a 2.4 turbo seems to fall into the good or bad experience for 2.4 turbo kits. Now that I found your video, I can start posting it when that question is asked. 👍

      You dont understand how this works. Transmissions, rear ends, wheels, and tires all take power to move. This is known as drive train loss. In stock form it would have made less than 200 hp at the tire on an accurate dyno like ours.

    • @ForceEngineering
      @ForceEngineering Месяц назад

      Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, the cam sensor is specific to the indycar engine. There is not a traditional gear on the cam. The camshaft sensor is driven off of an auxiliary drive, which is belt driven off the crankshaft. The sensor body has a hole in the middle for a cable drive for the alternator.

    I find this to be common on v8 turbo deals as well. I had a 451 cube sbf with twin pte 7675 on 1eth r fuel. Anyways it would make like 22-24 pounds and it would make around 1300 wheel through th400. Had an injector failure and torched the piston and head. Anyways went to smaller cube 427 and it picked up 150 hp wheel on the same boost and co2 was nearly 1:1 up until 28 pounds before I had to start banging the gates with co2. So that was telling me that the turbines are the choke point. I don’t have a back pressure sensor but judging by how much co2 I am having to keep on the gates to get anymore boost I’d say turbine drive pressure is much higher than manifold pressure. The combo could use bigger turbines to keep the pressure ratio across the engine happy. I think we get lost in the compressor flow capability and don’t consider much the turbine drive pressure side of the house. I believe this is why every time the smaller engine makes more power with the same turbo vs the larger engine. I don’t think it’s as prevalent in the 4 cylinder world due to the common turbine options being more appropriate for their displacement etc. Thankfully the newer turbos are addressing this. Of course we can pin the gates but after a certain point I found on my deal it does make a little more boost but IAT and egt is bananas and unsafe. I am sure many others have experienced this. I think a lot of people switch to methanol for the iat which is fine but it may help more to adjust the turbine size of the turbo if possible. Just my thoughts. The car is 2850 lbs and traps 152 with smaller cube 427 from 146 with the 451. Same boost level. 1/8th mile. New engine has 2 points less compression as well. It’s 10:1 vs 12:1. Same everything else. The small physical size of the mid frame turbos is very desirable though like the 7675 gt42 sized units. Give and take strikes again. It’s fun though. Cool video.

    • @ForceEngineering
      @ForceEngineering Месяц назад

      I can really appreciate all of that info! Thanks for the comment. Adding to the 4cyl stuff. They also will have more rpm for the same airflow. Thus, making more power at the same airflow. With mass flow of the system being the same, they should run into a turbine limit at the same airflow as a larger displacement I6 or V8, just happens at a higher rpm and thus is doing more work in the same time frame.

      The head with just bowl work has been mid 7s in the 1/4. We do a more elaborate version of the head as well that has been 7.0x at 199. I feel the bowl work only head wouldn't have slowed it down much. The turbocharger is our primary air pump here.
