Los Russets
Добавлен 17 ноя 2011
I post videos highlighting my experiences with excavation, machine repair, machining, welding, and much more. I also plan of posting videos this spring of our farming adventures as well as running our tile plowing business. With my channel, I want to highlight that if I can do it, anyone can do it too. This channel takes inspiration from the popular RUclipsr Andrew Camarata and his daily adventures around his shop and businesses. We are a young bunch of people, that are interested in running our own business, as well as having fun with our skills and knowledge.

This is a really basic generalized tutorial for running a lathe. I am not a professional, but I do know enough to make some parts.
Land Clearing for Farming Operation

This is another Andrew Camarata-style video that I recorded earlier this season to make some room for about half an acre of crops. In the previous years, there was a pile of trees and dirt that was pushed in from a previous tree removal job. It was also a test of our new thumb on our Bobcat 331e mini excavator, and a learning experience on the older John Deere 450b Dozer. Overall it was a great...
Machining Pins for a Mini Excavator

In this video, I show my struggles as an amateur machinist. I had so many problems, yet was able to fix them and learn. This is another Andrew Camarata-style take on machine maintenance.
Mini Excavator Cab Repair

This is yet another installment to my repair series. Once again this is an Andrew Camarata-inspired style video.
Home Excavator Line Bore Job

This is the second installment to my excavator repair videos. I might post another on actually boring out the boom.
Heavy Equipment Bushing Removal
Просмотров 26 тыс.3 года назад
This is the easiest way to remove bushings out of your mini excavator, skid steer, dozer, etc. It is superior to trying to torch them out. Out of curiosity, I searched excavator bushing removal on youtube and did not see one where people were welding them out, so I decided to make a short video. Hopefully, someone learns something from this.

Really impressed at the quality of the trails in Leota MI. A highly recommended stop for trail riders. The bike is a 2001 YZ250F
Great video! I just did this on my Takeuchi track loader and it worked like a charm. Thank you for the video help. 👍👍
Don't ever climb under a running machine that's a good way get crushed and nothing you can do to stop it! Tip of the Day youngster.....
I cant beleave your mother let you on this beautiful girl , old dozer opp from way back
Bushings was from bronze?
How do you remove the lower boom pin
its genius
A nice trick thanks for sharing
Did the same thing to remove dry cylinder sleeves on a 318 Perkins 4-cylinder Diesel. Factory had special puller to remove, very difficult and expensive. Thanks for reminding me to also use it to remove bushings 👍
You have one of the best D6'a Cat ever made
What with the Americans using bunch to describe everything
Lol this came in handy today
Glad I could help.
Yes pole saws are for reaching up high not ground level👍 Nice dozer you got there.
That's Awesome how are you getting the depth it also looks like your not using auto steer I'm interested to know because I am setting up one on a older bulldozer.
Im sure arc marks all over that previously smooth surface is proven too😂 you can make video's without accusing all of youtube being clowns. If you have to do that you should be sure you dont f up everything 😂
I have been running a torch for years. I believe the torch I best for removing bushings. When the torching done it will be in two pieces with no harm down to the bore
Run a bead around the inside of the bushing
I went to a truck parts and tools store once to buy a puller to get a stuck bearing race out of a bore. It was really stuck, tried everything and almost all the edges were a puller might grab were chipped off so i decided with pain in my wallet to buy a dedicated bearing puller for this repair. And the good ones are expensive... I explained my problem and told the old man behind the counter i needed this tool. he said to me: "i can sell it to you right now for 200,- but ill know something better; you got a welder? Then go back to your shop, weld a circle around the inside and you will tap it out with ease" went back to the store a month later for some parts and sadly the old man passed away 3 weeks after my visit so i couldnt thank him anymore.
Do you know how old he was? And how did he pass away ? Your testament gave me thoughts of this guy being a great grandad <3
@@estephanyolmos255 the man was somewhere in his 80's, apparently he got sick and within a couple of days it was over. Thats all i know. And i think he was a great granddad indeed, when he passed away his children and grandchildren(who run the parts shop now) made a table in the shop with pictures, flowers, candles and a book were people could write their colondeances.(and there were lots of writings in the book)
Will let yah know how it goes. have a 5 ton
Have to change them next weekend. Definitely going to give it a shot
These guys are bad to the bone!!!!!!!
Yeah
Wow, these guys are the best thing since sliced bread
Best things since carbonation!
@@gordonschmitz9598 carbonation causes childhood obesity

I liked the part where they jumped it
@@Chazman3786 I skipped to it because this video is just way to long.
What is the model number of that needle scaler.
You're moving pretty fast
We move along pretty good. ~1.5 mph. That tractor make loads of power, just lacks in weight.
dont cut yourself short, your doing a great job
Thanks, I appreciate the support!
If you're good with a torch it's not very hard to do without touching the bore. And you don't have weld splatter everywhere.
Can you tell me where you got the handles? I have a Bobcat 331 that could use a new set. What Komatsu did they go on?
Of course! I got them from a friend who works at a local dealer. They replace them with more complex ones with auxiliary switches/buttons when they add more functions. So he got them before they were inevitably thrown out. I will talk to him about the particular model, but I believe Komatsu has a universal joystick.
@@losrussets8945 Cool, any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I would be happy to toss your buddy some cash and get him a shipping label if he has another set. Thanks!
@@weekendhack.whatsnext Ok. I called him up, turns out he has no more of them. But he says they are standard on all mid size Komatsu excavators. Here is the link to the whole kit. All you really need is the handles. Not sure where to find just them. www.ebay.com/itm/353730276251?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=353730276251&targetid=1263094003826&device=c&mktype=&googleloc=9017210&poi=&campaignid=14859008593&mkgroupid=130497710760&rlsatarget=pla-1263094003826&abcId=9300678&merchantid=421400140&gclid=CjwKCAjwsMGYBhAEEiwAGUXJadKMG4VUigGKNGqbPow6Lp2s1CFoqqASyxCLW-M06eJR9HH1u9NCoRoCSkUQAvD_BwE
First machine I ever ran was a Southbend 12" you got a nice one, taper attachments great to have. Fing an Aloris style tool holder you will love it. I started in 1971 retired in 2012 now I make parts in a 10" heavy.
Despite being the only lathe I have ever really run, I really do like it. I really like the "clutch" to engage the power feed rather than the on and off levers that you find most often. I personally have not cut tapers with the taper attachment yet. This particular machine came off of a navy ship and has definitely been used over the years. We are currently looking into replacing the headstock bearing as it is starting to chatter and making it hard to get a good finish. We have talked about an Aloris-style tool holder but the degradation of that headstock is keeping us from putting too much into it. Especially with the lack of work to do locally. I really appreciate the comment and the view.
Thanks needed to see this technique.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Thank you so much...
I sure hope you don't change these for a living. You have no idea what you are doing.
Will this work on bigger diameter bushings.
Torching the bushings works fine, the bore dose not get hurt if you do it right. I cut the bushings on both sides in a couple minutes, no damage to the bore
My hero
Great method thanks, fyi in the field I use a die grinder to carefully cut most of the way through and drift it out.. for what it’s worth it!
Thanks. Might I ask, what do you use to cut those bushings? I know they are generally pretty hard, and I would imagine that they could tear a carbide burr up pretty quick. To be honest, I don't have much time running a burr, I am just making an assumption.
Hey! hoping for some channel updates keep the great work up!
Honestly, I didn't think anyone was looking for more content. I have some footage from late last summer on some farm projects that I did. The problem is, the videos felt a little incomplete. I think I'm just gonna edit them and post them up anyways. Thanks for watching and holding me to some more content.
justin dont pay mind to these people running their mouth alot of people do only one thing and think they are god at it i have a channel and sometimes here the same crap difference is i do a lot of different things and you cant be god at everything i for one liked what you did and i have to replace some in my excavator so thankyou for showing this
I appreciate your comment. People will always find any excuse to put someone down on the internet. But, they are not the ones putting themselves and their skills out there. You earned a subscriber from me, I love the odds and ends you do on your channel. I am glad that my video helped you out, and I hope to post more content soon. Thanks.
@@losrussets8945 i have to replace bushings and pins on my 120 komatsu i think your vid will help so thanks
Right on!
Thanks for the tip it works great
I’m waiting on updates on the excavator
I will post one sooner than later. I have more work to come on it when the season is over. We are also looking into buying a bigger one. Maybe some more coming down the pipeline!
Awesome
Nice tip ... when you install new bushings do you freeze bushing and heat bore? Curious if you have any special techniques. Thanks for posting
In my experience freeze bush but don’t heat the eye, heating can tighten the hole and more importantly it defrosts the bush too fast (u might not jack a tight one in quick enough).
Been doing that for years. Glad you Clowns finally learned something new.
Lol, thanks for watching!
I've been driving a car on compressed air for years, you clowns will catch on eventually.
I'm doing the same thing. Bought a komatsu pc30mr1. My problem is finding parts.even had to build some.good luck
Good luck to you as well. Having a machine shop at my disposal makes these jobs affordable. I actually could buy lots of parts from bobcat, but I made them with scraps.
we have the same last name and good job on the repair
I see a lot of clowns on you tube calling a mini excavator .....heavy equipment.....
Glad you cleared the air on that one. Wouldn't want people mistaking an excavator for heavy equipment. I love a good keyboard warrior like yourself. God forbid someone says something that doesn't perfectly align with your opinion. In fact, where do I join the church of Matt Bergeseid? Maybe then I can perform to your heavenly standards as a being higher than myself...
@@losrussets8945 gee. seems like someone who calls people clowns is sensitive to being called a clown, your method doesn't work well on bigger thicker bushings, and if you get good with a torch splitting bushings is acceptable...big stuff can't always be transported to your little shed buttercup...
@@mattbergseid9196 Ok boss.
ok, i have disassembled my entire 580b backhoe, the main top pin and bushing were about 10 more minutes from eating into the metal past the bushing, the top pin has about 20% of the metal gone, deep gouge groove. tomorrow I attempt to get the main bushings out, they are 51.02mm ID x 63.5mm OD x 31.8mm L and 51.02mm ID x 63.5mm OD x 38.1mm L. I was going to try the weld all inside them to shrink using my mig. instead, i am going to try this method, and see how it goes. i have already tapped on them, and pressed a little bit with a home made rig, they are in there. will report back on how it goes.
I hope it works for you. Putting a couple beads wouldn't hurt anything if they don't come. I had one that basically fell out after I put 2 strings of weld.
@@losrussets8945 so far so good have taken a bunch of them out
