…I love Johnny Winters and his style too, though I must confess I’ve only recently been getting into more of his material. I’ve known about him for years of course, but am only recently this past year or so discovering more about him and his stamp on the blues genre! He was an amazing talented blues man!

I’m really liking the stuff I’ve been hearing of Johnny Winters… I know another guitarist that was friends with him that plays all over and has shared the stage with some big names and is friends with Billy Gibbons and Joe Bonamassa and many others. He’s all over RUclips as well. His name is Lance Lopez! Tremendous guitarist/vocalist in the blues/rock genre… 😎👍

I lost my dad when he was 75, my mom is still with us but she’s been through a lot lately with heart issues and such. She’s to be 76 in January. It’s a 2016 Firebird V that I bought second hand from a local guy to my area. At the time I was looking for a new one, but they were so hard to get around here. This one is great but has been modified some. Kent Armstrong Vintage Humbuckers were put in at MatneyUSABenders so it looks like it came this way, they did great. I love how they sound, so I’m happy. It’s a great guitar! I’m a lifelong Skynyrd fan, so I’ve wanted one for years! Sorry, didn’t mean to ramble on so much. 😎🐦‍🔥🎸

@ Out of all the Skynyrd guitarists there ever was, Allen was my personal favorite out of them all. They were all musically talented, and I can admit Steve Gaines might’ve been the best guitarist they ever had, but Allen is what makes Skynyrd Skynyrd. Him and Gary and the rest of them 🤘🕊️

Hey brother… I sure appreciate you listening and taking an interest. When the track gets to D there at the 1:10 mark, I’m just sliding up the fretboard with an F#/D, G/E, G#/F, A/F#, B/G, C#/A, D/B, D#/C, E/C# run, something like that… if that makes sense.

Wow!!! I can’t tell you how much that comment means to me… 🙏 I definitely love my Skynyrd and do my best to do them justice, that’s what I was raised on as a budding guitarist. I spent countless hours learning as many of their as I could and at one point I could play nearly every song from Pronounced up to and including the Street Survivors album. That was how I spent my teen years, I’m 60 now and still love to play those ol’ songs! I’m certainly happy you approve guitar brother! Thanks so much for the comment and for listening in…. That is a precious memory for you I’m sure… Losing your son, especially unexpectedly is a loss I can’t imagine but I’m SO glad you’re holding on to those memories! The closest I can think of to that is I lost a close cousin (double first, actually) in a tragic vehicle accident. We grew up next door to each other and he learned to play bass guitar and got really good at it, so naturally we played music a lot together… especially Skynyrd and southern rock. He was young like that as well when he died, his younger brother is a drummer and we still talk about him to this day and all the possibilities of what could be if he were still here. I’m sorry for your unexpected loss brother, thanks for sharing your story and memories. 🙏 Our loved ones are still alive as long as we talk about them and share our memories and experiences about them! Keep on rockin’ in your neck of the woods and again thank you for listening…. I’m sure we’d get along great in the music world! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

The guitar on the screen looked like my blueberry, so I thought I’d get it out and use it…. It’s a 2019 LP Standard my dear wife bought me on Valentines Day in that same year…. 😎👍

@@rockinnoelguitar64 My wife bought me my dream guitar, the one that's my avatar, a 1950's spec Gibson Les Paul Standard. It was born on my birthday, the year I retired ... destined to be mine. It's like someone built a time machine, and reached back to late 1958 or early 1959 and handed me a guitar. 58 neck, 59 top, hand wired... so nice....

That’s a great story and I’m certain is a prized possession to last a lifetime!! 😎👍

Thanks again my faithful guitar brother! I’ve tried this one a few times before, but wasn’t really satisfied yet…. So I gave it another go! Still not where I’d like it to be, but the guitar was sounding good to my ears, so I dug in for another go at it… This is the Strat my cousin built for my dad a few years ago before he passed…. Now I have it and really like its classic “Strat tones”. I like it on this tune, but forgive my terrible singing, lol!!! 🤪🎸

I’m really uncomfortable singing and playing at the same time, lol… Every band I’ve been in had a lead singer and I was happy to sit back and play my guitar and maybe throw in some harmony vocals, but that’s it, lol… Self taught here as well, with a few pointers from fellow pickers along the way…. My dear ol’ daddy (RIP) got me started as a youngster and I’ve been hooked ever since! 🙏🎸
