Immediately after Christ's death, Miriam and Tirzah are healed by a miracle (Christ's blood from the Crucifixion washes into the cave where the women are hiding and touches them), as are Judah's heart and soul. He returns to his home and tells Esther that as he heard Jesus talk of forgiveness while on the cross, "I felt His voice take the sword out of my hand." The film, which began with the Magi visiting the infant Jesus, ends with the empty crosses of Calvary in the background and a shepherd and his flock (a prominent Judeo-Christian symbol) in the foreground.

One of, if not the greatest Movies ever made.without a doubt.especially the ending which always puts a tear in my eyes.
Palestine "Palestina" on the map. 🇵🇸 Surprise, surprise, no Israel in sight. Even Ben-Hur's entire production crew recognizes Palestine. Still the greatest film ever made.

The chariot race scene in this movie was great. However, this is the icing on the cake on what our savior Jesus Christ is known for. Helping people in need such as those with leprosy. The blood of Christ cleanses and washes us of our sins and makes us better! Jesus Christ our God has forgiveness, love, and mercy for all! Truly Christ has risen on Easter Sunday! Thank you very much! Amen!🙂😅😇

This scene brings me to tears every time.
The movie is great overall, and this scene in particular. No other movie has captured the Nativity like Ben Hur has. The music is especially outstanding.
One of the greatest films ever made,without a doubt,with eleven academy awards ,speaks for its self ,al the way though it breaks your heart and makes you cry , and then gives you hope and love for the future when juda is returned to mother and sister ,a very moving moment.

I was raised Roman Catholic and was never a fan of the rituals of church. I am, however, moved by some of the readings of the Bible, the lyrics and music of certain hymns, and the symbolism of items such as the shepherd leading the flock shown at the end of the movie or the painting like The Creation of Adam.

I was 14 when I went with friends to see this spectacle. Upon leaving the theater and feeling the warmth of the August sunshine, I remarked softly, "Wow, that was better than church" and it was. Now, 65 years later, I still marvel at the fact that a man of war (Civil War general Lew Wallace) could write a novel that could inspire a piece of cinematic beauty. In recent years, I uncovered the names of the actors who portrayed Jesus and the centurion at the oasis. Less than a year later, I was back in a theater to relish every moment of The Magnificent Seven.

It's a beautiful movie, but do yourself justice and read the book, and read about Lew Wallace and the writing of the book. Some of what is in the movie makes more sense if you have read it.
This story was written by a Civil War General who wasn't real religious. He wrote a great story! A fantastic job! The book was turned into an Epic movie. God always works thru the people that aren't always the head of a religion. More common people. Moses, Noah, Peter and Paul.
God always keeps his promises, always. He said that a Messiah would come. Praise God 🙏
They should show this as a classic from the past in today's movie theaters particularly to this younger generation. I was born in 1964 and will turn 60 years old this year 2024 and watched this classic every year when it came on during Easter and I'll never forget the effect it had on me then as it still does now!!🙏❤️

Watch this film every Good Friday. The ending is perfect. Best movie score ever. Not everyone knows that at the crucifixion, Wyler wanted Ben Hur to be emotionless, impassive as he was at the Massala death scene. But Heston was genuinely moved to tears and Wyler decided to keep that reaction in the final cut. This film comes as close to perfection as any.
