Can I transfer Ink cash back rewards with a chase freedom unlimited card or must I get the sapphire?
The only one of these negative "laws" that actually causes harm to others is the listening to video without headphones. Really guys? Asking to switch seats. I spend 100-200 nights a year in a hotel flying around. I fly so much, attendants know me by name. Sure, if someone wants to swap a middle seat with a window or switch classes... like not cool. But you know what is also not cool? Being stuck between a husband and wife who chose aisle and window while they share food and talk loudly across you for 6 hours in the middle seat just trying to relax. In first class, I switch seats ALL the time with other First classers. I don't have such a superiority complex that 1A means better than 2A. As for automatically upgrading people over 6'? What about a law to force tall people to buy two seats like big people have to? If anything, the manspreading 6'+'ers are constantly hanging over into my baby little 5'10" frame. And clapping when landing? Who cares. I don't do it. I don't drink or smoke or party. However, I don't try to ruin other people's fun or things that make them feel better. The entitlement is crazy.
Great job everyone
Guys, No need to down talk other programs. Southwest is a companion pass. Other airlines have a companion ticket or companion fare!
Love companion pass! This was my first year getting it (got both cards in December of 2023) and we used it a lot for our family of four. Hawaii, Orlando, and several trips to LA (Disneyland). It’s so worth it!
So get the card now but don't spend until 2025?
You start the spend now and get close, but you don’t FINISH the spend until 2025.
Don't get too close, though. Sometimes they issue the points before you're actually there.
In 2024 I've used my companion fare for seven round trips and two one ways. The two one ways and three of the round trips were Hawaii to mainland. Four were interisland. I earned it Feb 2023 using credit cards. I used it for three trips Hawaii to Mainland in 2023. I'm sure it has saved me at least $4K. Definitely worth earning and using.
Where can I find out about the Southwest changes that are going to impact Atlanta? Because I was all set to do the companion pass strategy, especially now that I have a child that moved to Miami Beach but I’m not sure how much it’s going to be worth it for me as Atlanta being in My Home airport
Would think just checking SW website for future dates to see availability of flights
Excellent, watching now!
So glad I did! I've been getting stuck in my head about how spending on cards THIS year in 2024, and finishing in 2025 will net me the pass... Its not about the spend. Its about the award date of the points after the last bit is spent.... Was confusing me up until now (@41:40)!
Yes, more videos! This is great! Extremely helpful.
What is up with the editing...way too many cuts...this makes it extremely difficult and frustrating to watch. Sorry would love to see more fluid conversation even if it's longer.
Morgan is very informative, but not a fluid speaker (a bit choppy) So its a little tough to follow her
Wonderful episode! Thank you!
I couldn’t make out how many points it cost her for the AMEX around the world trip she took. Did anyone catch that?
115,000!
So if anyone here relocates to Australia or New Zealand will you please sponsor us-two retired people(with money, but not enough for either of those countries to relocate ourselves)? We would love to move to either of those two countries.
Woot woot, Tampa here!
This is so interesting! I have always planned events in advance and it doesn't always go as planned. I am going to try the check list methodology for my next two vacations. I am also curious about Hostels. I have a family of 4 (two teen kids) and I am kind of tempted to give it a shot. Especially when we are in another country. I might try this.
That’s awesome! I'm also from CT and wish I would have started this credit card points journey sooner. I am a “newbie” but do have only the BILT card which gives me points back. I’m sure that’s not as lucrative as the sign on bonus offers that’s why I’m looking forward to getting this started. However, I have one concern about signing up for multiple cards in a short period and how it might affect my credit score. Do you have more information on this? How do you approach it? Any dos and don'ts?
Excellent! Thanks a lot!
So we need to call Virgin for this?
Great video! Just getting in the game. As a West Coast resident with Chase trifecta and learning what’s next. I’m trying to figure out how many Airline & Hotel loyalty membership programs to sign up for and learn their websites and booking processes. I’m sure all that sounds ignorant. I’m still going through the 10x tutorial
Would love some more info on that South Africa trip! Sounds like exactly what I've been trying to find!
This is easy. If the answer isn't Hilton your kidding yourself. Although I do agree with Thompson hotels being great, the Hyatt portfolio leaves a lot to be desired and I am not transferring my hard earned UR points to Hyatt when most people still have to pay (cash/points) for airfare to their destination. Both my spouse and I have the Hilton Aspire and we make multiple trips throughout Asia every year with 2 little ones with us. This year alone we are or will have completed leisure travel to (Vietnam, Tokyo, Kyoto, Singapore) all in a Hilton hotel (2 Conrads and 2 Hiltons) on points while redeeming CC points for airfare. Hilton is king and both my experiences in the states or abroad have been phenomenal. I only stay at Mariott's for business and only if required...lol. Bonus point from me; I have stayed at the Intercontinental in Okinawa and Ishigaki and they are phenomenal resorts, so IHG abroad is recommended. Awesome video nonetheless.
RACCOON! Because I have one. They will make you dumb because they will outsmart you
Very inspiring video, miles and points is for everyone. Having lived in Europe and US, I can second the value of using hostels. It’s fun, especially Europe.
Great episode with a perspective not often discussed in the space. As a budget travel myself, one thing I often struggle with is justifying business vs economy flight . For example an economy for 40k points or a business for 100,00k points. I’m curious how a how that decision is made? In my head it’s hard to justify 1 flight vs 2.5 flights when my goal is getting to the location
I feel this! I used to fly everywhere in economy bc I wanted to save my points and stretch them far. Now, my rule is if I want to sleep (like a good night's sleep, not just a nap) on the plane, then I fly business/first class in order to have a lay down bed. I really don't sleep well in the seats and when I don't sleep I am super cranky and it can mess up my first few days of travel. So I go for the bed. If I am not able to swing it with points, then I make sure to book a hotel (not a hostel) for just my first night when I arrive so I am guaranteed a big, comfy bed, hot shower, etc. to get me back on track.
Fyi, in the podcast on spotify and here I believe the answer to the first question was weirdly cut short which was very confusing to me! Had to come here to hear the full version but it didn’t include any of the guest answer
Hola! We had so much to talk about when recording so not all of the answers made it to the Final Cut. :) My answer to the first question of what were my 2 favorite ride or dies were: Chase UR and AA points. Reason being... chase points are just so easy to obtain and I often transfer them to partners such as United (88k business to South Africa!) and AA points are so easy to use (7k positioning flight to Miami for my next trip to Vietnam!). Also, both Chase and AA require low minimum spends which is important to me bc I don't spend a lot of money :)
Those points are insane! What an amazing trip! Congratulations!
Favorite episode yet!!❤
<3
she also has me wanting to stop what I'm doing to book hostels
Do it!!!
Fantastic episode! Michelle is literally living the life of my dreams. Im with you, Bryce and Emily; I’m seriously thinking of trying out hostels! I’m new to points and miles, and I absolutely love learning from 10X Travel and the fb group. Thanks so much for all you do!
Yay! Please try out a hostel and think of me!
@@michelletraub5081 I sure will!❤️
She is so adorable. I love the footloose and fancy-free lifestyle.
Thanks! I loved being able to share and hopefully encourage others to take a mid-life break and see the world :)
Her perspective on hostiles is awesome and I love it for her.. I just want nothing to do with it myself 😂
hehehe fair!
If you don't have a job how are you paying your credit card and getting all those mile points
She used to be a teacher and saved up to travel... if she has a youtube channel she might get paid that way as well...
That is a great question!!! I worked as a teacher for 13 years and in that time used my credit card to pay rent and normal life expenses. I saved up a lot of points to use. Here is what I've used so far: 40k United (BDL-MEX), 14k Chase (MEX-Guadalajara), 88k UR transferred to United Business class (JFK-Capetown), 88k UR transferred to United Business class (Johannasburg-Newark), 95 Avios UR transferred to BA to Qatar QSuites (Miami-Doha-Vietnam), 111k UR transferred to Singapore Air Business class (Bali-Signapore-JFK), 14k AA points (BDL-Miami) for 2 for positioning flights. Right now, I am not making any money so I just recently opened the AA Barclay card for 70k points bc it is only a $1 spend :)
Sweet Caroline
Great content. The guy in the bottom right has such terrible vocal fry, probably half your audience over age 35 dropped off the video.
Thank you for this!!!
I’m having a hard time getting signed on from Facebook. When I click “forgot password” it says it emailed me but I haven’t gotten any email. I tried numerous times. Sorry for the hassle but I really want to do the 10 X.
Great explanation…. Learned quite a bit in that short video. Thanks
I think you missed that the best/unique feature of Hilton is that the FNC (Free Night Certificates) can be at any Hilton brand, now including SLH, with no cap. So unlike Marriot with maximum points, or Hyatt 1-4 or 1-7 (but their best hotels are category 8).
IHG Da Nang is one of the special ones in the Intercontinental brand.
Nice, thank you
Thank you for the walk through. Very helpful. Just starting and feeling overwhelmed. How do you go about transfering the points from Chase, AMEX or Cap1 to one of those airline to book the flight? Please do another video to show that.
Very interesting episode. You might want to consider a couple different "Wow" categories - one for resorts, which seemed to be the focus in the discussion, and one for central city locations particularly overseas. We've enjoyed wonderful Kimptons in the center of Amsterdam, London, and Edinburgh (and Chicago and SLC) and beautiful Intercontinentals in the center of Singapore and Porto. We could help Bryce out with IHG next time!
I love this tutorial, very clear and easy to follow
This is a great example. Love the step by step. Where did you get the PDF showing all the alliances partners?
Thanks for the vid. I need to get better at this as ive save up 600k chase points and have no clue where to start.
I like my IHG! I got over 200K staying a week in Bora Bora. I like this podcast but I need to listen when I'm not at work so that I can absorb all of the information. 🙂
40:50 he is totally confused on IHG. I'm not sure why he is representing the brand (and didn't bother even looking at the basics before recording this video). Yes, the Chase card gets you Platinum Elite status. The step above that is not Ambassador, but Diamond Elite. That takes 70 nights to earn or you can spend $40k on your credit card. Ambassador for $200 is NOT at "participating locations" rather it is at ALL Intercontinentals, which is fantastic. In addition, there is Royal Ambassador which is invitation only for those Ambassadors who stay the most and spend the most at IHG luxury properties. Just google Flyer Talk to learn more about that.
Very helpful content. Thank you.
You really do learn something new everyday. Today, for me, it is the ability to earn Avios via British Airways Airbnb portal. Thanks for doing what you do!!
