NUX B-8 Wireless Guitar System - Demo & Review (My Thoughts)
I’m buying a guitar to learn this and alot of alice in chains. Now I know for certain I am buying one! Awesome job dude!
Idk man 113 I got my rc-3 for 80 bucks all just because the back label was messed up
That pedal is discontinued so I don’t count it
This video is excellent. Thanks, Andrew!
Nothing wrong with laying down the pedals first. Gives you a feel for cords and needed spacing. Besides that’s what Velcro is for right? Nice job! I’ve just started mine and with too many pedals, my ocd being so bad I feel the need to spell it cdo 🤷♂️, I expect I’ll be moving pedals around for the next 3 months before I’m satisfied. 😂
Understandable
Mine always stays On. With a short Regen (slapback-like) for most songs, except Pink Floyd type of music where Regen at about 11:00 does the trick. And instead of using the modulation button, I get a better tone pairing it with a Boss CH-1 Chorus pedal in front of it. Everyone compliments my live tone. It's mostly coming from my fingers, but the Carbon Copy is a big, big part of it.
"...and needs some TLC" 🤣🤣🤣
Can you go between two and three cause then it would be number two with a boost?
I really appreciate your videos man. Very clear and great demonstrations. Keep doing what you do, you have helped me immensely 😊
I love your pedal board setup!
@@BboyEklypse thanks a lot
Can i run a keyboard into it?
If it uses a 1/4” jack, then I don’t see why not.
Can somebody tell me the trial conditions/limitations of midi guitar 2? I can't find info on their website or forum..
It bypasses every 1-2 minutes like I mentioned in the video. That’s pretty much it.
@@andrewsiemon Sorry must have missed it. Thanks
I bought one. I reckon it sounded pretty good. You play guitar really well too.
Thanks a lot
Really cool video!
Thanks man
2:27 $276! What if the open string and the harmonic are ok, but fretting at the 12th fret is slightly out?
Seems very responsive. Definitely gonna check that out. I wonder if the inconsistency of the bend tracking was due to the instrument you are sending the midi to not responding to the pitch bend messages, I seem to recall some piano plugins don't. Either way, glad youtube surfaced your channel to me - I've subbed.
thanks a lot.
The cut in the top of the shoe really made this 🙏 nah but I have been kinda thinking about buying one of these for a long time, basically because I wanted to more faithfully play Becoming, but I couldn't justify buying it for that reason alone. Knowing more about the like de/drop tuning effect though, that's pretty fire. I like to play floating trem bridges for the most part and changing tunings is evil and annoying. Thanks man
Update: just ordered a whammy DT cause it was on sale for close to the price of a Gen 5 new and seems to pretty much be the same thing with an expanded tuning change feature 🥳
You can do this for free in Reaper with ReaTune by the way! Still a cool plugin
I had no idea. That’s pretty cool. Maybe it’s time for a DAW upgrade.
This was really helpful for what goes where. Just got the JHS and trying to work it into my FX loop along with my looper.
In the era of NAM and Tonex it is really lacking pro amp tone.
Did you learn that melody that you always played in streams?🥳😁
I did yeah: www.tiktok.com/@andrewsiemonone/video/7399623666415308038
Gotta be honest, your tone here is not good. It sounds like an amp sim without an IR. String separation is non existent, lacking low end while also being boxy. You'll get better, dude keep trying!
Bro went off tho 😮
I use a Morning Glory v4. It actually stacks really well with the Boss DS-1. The MG in its blue mode has a pretty flat EQ curve, if not a bit bright. But it adds a little bit of compression and gain, which really makes a DS-1 sound tremendous. That combination is my clean and dirty tone, going into a Fender Deluxe Reverb. I can't really explain what it is, but it sort of makes everything sound a little bit higher fidelity.
I'll have to give that a try.
0:48 how to get that sound
The Cure one ...yeah that one, for sure.
You say put it before everything but you have the compressor before it in the first images you show of it on your board.
It’s a guideline.
Anyone that thinks this is attenuating their amp is sadly mistaken. It's going in before the output tubes. I don't really see the point of it other than to in effect replace a master volume that tapers in an annoying way.
The point is to give you a bit more control over your volume.
Can you layer loops on this pedal?
I run my Cerberus into Amp Academy… my makeshift home made Trident … very happy! Now I have a mod section pre and post dirt and analog Drive/ Distortion… IYKYK🤣👌🏾
It seems like it’s quashing the attack of the notes too much.
I really never could get past the fact that in bypass it sucked my tone. Sounded good on, but off was bad, and i didnt have any kind of pedal switching unit, so i sold the dyna comp for a wampler ego. The mxr does have its place in a studio, but for my live rig, it didnt make the cut I personally would suggest the first gate goes before the comp, have you tried it that way? Edit: nevermind i see you’re doing 4cm, thats even better than what i suggested. Disregard my concern I have a sentry gating my comp, OD, and entire preamp section in its loop
How? It's true bypass. Shouldn't affect tone when bypassed at all. Did you get a broken pedal?
@ no, mine was 100% not true bypass.
I’ve had the Wampler Ego in my cart for around a year now, but I can’t bring myself to pull the trigger.
@@andrewsiemon i had the V1 honestly id rather have the wong compressor. Its an ego with bonus features
@@Ottophil Looks sick. $427CA on Amazon though.
Will it handle my Boss GX100 multi fx pedal well in your opinion.
sounds terrible
Go back to sleep
I prefer seymour duncan passive humbuckers. Sh-6 or 8.
I have this pedal in bias fx2, but I can't figure out how to get it in a drop D tuning... do you know how this work?
Thank you for the video Boss, this is great info, yeah i saw a lot of people saying stay away from this pedal but i see that you found the proper way of using it, personally i need a noise gate pedal for taming some noise generated while i do loops with my boss rc 30, i mostly play cleans and i only use a ibanez ts9 in some songs while building the loop for indie, shoegaze type of style also i got a delay and reverb pedal, so it might be a good usable pedal for me, since its the only cheap option around 40$ i found in my city a NS2 is around 100$
I got this a few months ago. it works amazingly on riffs but not complex chords I use in shoe gaze. the higher strings would sound out of tune.
81/85 FTW
Audioly! Love that!
So you basically use it like it should be use it and how everyone uses it.
Appreciate the video!
After buying like 50 pedals I find myself just plugging straight into the amp now LOL maybe it’s just a phase 😅
I do the same thing. It's like a palette cleanser or something. Sometimes you OD on pedals and you need to start with the basics again 😂
So I could essentially record all guitars on my amps and board and take the loops straight to my DAW demos? Definitely getting this RC5.
Electronic noise? I prefer music! 😊
What?
@@andrewsiemon I think he's shitting on you
So this one goes to 11 😂
I love my EMGs more today than yesterday.
Glad you enjoy them, my G
I have that same guitar man its awesome esp make some sweet guitars great take on the solo too maybe ill be able to play it one day.😊
Yeah it’s a decent guitar. I could use a similar one but more versatile and less metal-focused. Btw, you’ll be able to play 10s soon enough.
The teleport looper with wifi is the best ever.
how much does it cost and can you get it on amazon?
Here is what I DONT see on any of the demos is using effects to change your loop. Most basic: clean and distortion one over the other, also, flanger or wah on second loop. Octaver pedal? Add a bass line. Univibe swells Does your pedal emulate different instruments? Have a drum machine? Awesome. You can even plug a Mic (it might need some preamp) to add harmony lines to your vocals. Using the same tone for everything, even when each dub is tasty, makes the mix sound too busy and cluttered.
