Coming back to this, Carvalho's immediate tactic of using an ad hominem fallacy to try and disqualify his opponent, framing a purely theoretical discussion as some sort of David vs Goliath duel of egos where he is the underdog, gives a good idea of his [lack of] quality as a thinker (I can't bring myself to call him an intellectual), and betrays him as a sophist, not a philosopher.
