I don't, the pond could easily support them but most species get big enough that I wouldn't want to risk them hassling my koi fish. we have a clay pond out back that's stocked with channel cats though XD

I would never call any fish a "garbage fish" because as a biologist with a specialty in limnology that phrase gives me the ich... lol however I do understand that in many places the pike family get a bad rap because in bodies of water where they have been introduced, they have been known to reduce overall biodiversity. but here in my waterways these chain and redfin are native and are not even apex predators, more like secondary or even tertiary predators so they are actually kind of rare and as such are a treat to catch because they are balanced with the ecosystem. that said there is no such thing as a garbage fish, only garbage people. People introduced those fish into waterways that they became hyper dominant in because they were ignorant. don't blame the fish because its good at survival.

@@jiggincs1583 somebody decided they would illegally plant them in North Idaho about 40 years ago and now the fishing is terrible and all you catch for the most part Are those nasty No good eating Pike. So I know exactly what I'm talking about. Fool

I suspected that you lived somewhere they were invasive, I get it. its probably super frustrating when they are super disruptive but that's not the case everywhere, and in this case its not even the same species. You have the northern pike there that get a LOT bigger. someone introduced Flathead catfish in the rivers near hear about ten years ago and now they are dropping sport fish numbers like crazy that's why I predominantly eat flathead.

The thumbnail is slightly saturated. It was lightly dyed at the time to control algae because my pool gets full sun all day. The dye was a short-term solution to prevent a huge algal bloom and the subsequent nitrogen spike that would follow until the water matured and developed natural tannins/ aquatic plants. It's now a much more natural dark green color. If I shade it, it would get a lot clearer

I think the tank might be a little undersized for an alligator gar well and everything else tbh lol however I think there is an extremely high probability that peacocks will make it into that tank at some point ;) probably as a grow out for when an even bigger tank is made.... 🤔🤪
