Great to see Hwange National Park again after 30 years! Still rustic and natural with great diversity of animals and birds. Some massive herds of buffaloes and other animals. Wow! Information about routes and accommodation very useful for planning a trip. Beautiful video, thanks!

I'll tell you how to shoot birds in flight with the A7R4 and the 200 to 600. Use that body for what it was intended for and then get something better like the A1 or the A9. The A7R4 is a good camera, it's just that it's horrible for birds in flight. Sure, you can get some shots but your hit rate is going to be absolutely abysmal. And your keeper rate worse.

I got this lens when I picked up my Sony A7R V and loving it and I also picked up the 1.4 and the 2x converters and loving them with it for the extra recharge for here in Alaska for the wildlife photography and find that I use the is lens more then my Sony 200-600mm lens but I do love that lens also
That’s an excellent camera and lens combo you have there! Happy to hear it’s working well with the teleconverters also. I’ve just returned from a Safari in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe and was again amazed how incredibly sharp the lens was in low light in the early mornings. Got some great shots of lion cubs at sunrise. I also have the 200-600 lens which has been my go to for wildlife but I’ve really been enjoying the 70-200 more and more.

Hi, Does the addition of a teleconverter drop the image sharpness or light range of the camera?
If you add a 2x teleconverter, you end up with a 140-400 lens, at F5.6. Again, fantastic versatility! There isn’t much noticeable difference in image quality or sharpness with the TC but I did notice that the OSS image stabilisation if handholding the lens with a TC was not quite as good, so best to use a tripod in those conditions. But all round, the TC does perfectly fine with this lens.
