I'm astounded by how good Jory is in Shakespeare! Love his costume too, especially the crown that changes in every scene. And Mickey Rooney is perfect as Puck. Rest of clip and film itself magical too. Shakespeare & Mendelssohn done right by, Dieterle and the rest at WB. OY, my comments are so inadequate!!

Oberon, Titania or Bottom gains your vote as best?

After so many decades it only now occurs me that Titania sings her lines throughout the film...the score certainly encourages her...and Oberon's entrance here still makes me sit up straight.

Anita Louise was a magnificent Titania, a great combination of delicacy and strength. Also, Nijinsky's sister did the choreography!
