Man Builds Inground Pool By Himself

This is mostly a slideshow of the pool project I completed a couple years ago. I installed this pool kit with only help of an electrician and my son for a day. The results speak for themselves. Leave a comment and give it a thumbs up if you enjoy this video. Thanks for watching.

      Because I used a pool mix (heavy sand with concrete) rebar is not required, according to the instruction I received and all the videos for this type of pool installation. Mostly, the floor is well below the frost line, so it doesn't have a lot of movement due to freezing. It shouldn't crack, and the weight of the water helps to keep it from moving as well.

    • @crushertoby2008
      @crushertoby2008 9 месяцев назад

      I got a set of plans with the kit and there was a lot of measuring and re-measuring. The panels for the kit need about 3 feet extra all the way around to allow for the footer. I just followed the plans pretty closely.

    Contemplating this, how were the stairs by yourself? They look heavy in the vidoes I've watched. Were they easy to assemble and put into place? Thanks for documenting the process.

    • @crushertoby2008
      @crushertoby2008 Год назад

      The stairs are fiberglass, so not too heavy. You just have to use some leverage to move them around. They are a bit awkward dur to the size and shape. The hardest thing with them is once placed, packing the sand in under the steps so they won't flex when walking on them.

    Man that’s a great looking pool done by yourself. But that’s sad how some folks will leave you without no resonate at all abd had you literally chasing him down to get an answer! WTF!🤦🏽‍♀️ Anywho👀👀 I’m glad you learned that quick lesson to just move on from him…not everyone is gonna support you or help. I don’t like when that happens but it’s called life and we must learn to PIVOT, ADJUST & MOVE!😳🤔🤷🏽‍♀️ Great pool DIY!🥰

    As a professional backhoe operator I and any other operator can tell you its almost always going to work out to be the same money to just hire a professional vs renting. Renting one with no experience means your spending the majority of time/money learning vs actual doing. A skilled operator can do 10 times the work while someone with no experience is still learning the controls. Love your pool I think you did very good.👍🏼👍🏼 I have the dirt work covered, its the rest of the pool I am trying to figure out. Not sure if I want to try a DIY project.

    • @crushertoby2008

      Yes, there was definitely some learning time involved. I did have some previous experience with a variety of equipment, but definitely still an amateur. There are a lot of videos out there to help figure it out. Good luck to you. Thanks for watching.

Most people would have stop that project when they started. Congratulations on job well done. I think I will just work overtime and leave that to the professionals.

The deck cost 3 times more than the pool but its exactly what we wanted. Its nine years old now and still going strong. Thanks for your story.
