3D Scan to Front Bumper - Jeep XJ Hybrid Bumper
This is my first attempt at making a vehicle bumper let alone using a 3D scanner, and what better vehicle than a Jeep XJ. I call this a Hybrid Bumper since it incorporates so many things, tube, plate, winch, shackle/flat tow, sway bar, fairlead, lights, and front end support . It was a long process that could have taken a lot less time. Hopefully next project will move quicker after everything I learned doing this one!

Did my Potato Hopper Get Out of Hand? 304SS
Просмотров 708 месяцев назад
This potato hopper has been in the works for about a year, as the real build time was quite quick, the project needed some final touches. The main goal was to feed potatoes at a slow smooth rate that can vary depended on needs. I designed the hopper in Solidworks and did multiple FEA analyses on the structure. The hopper will run specialty potato varieties as in fingerlings, reds and yellows. A...

BNTP32 Aliexpress Hydraulic Crimper
Просмотров 64610 месяцев назад
I decided to gamble and order a big hydraulic crimper from AliExpress since our operation needs new hoses all the time. This crimper has very well payed for itself as the fittings and hose are a fraction of the cost of getting one made locally. The biggest benefit is when no one is open, like the middle of the night or on a Sunday, I can get a piece of equipment back up and running.

Can you just buy a different rim? I’ve been trying to avoid this.
@@nebraskafights7547 I looked into that, I think it is possible, but they might be expensive
thats pretty high end work there, looks great. did you try the light pods on the inside of the frame rail and decide to move them out?
@@northbound5493 Thank you! For the clevis pins to fit, either the outside or inside needed to be clear. I liked the look on the outside so therefore the void is on the inside. Technically I could sheet metal the front and install pins from top.
That turned out very 👍🏽 nice!
Thanks for watching!
Great work!! do you have a link for the brake kit ?
@@elalex1487 this was the one I used! a.co/d/bSsfviI
Set the dial to zero before using die handle.
Are you realy so stupid man? Just cut both sides and use hamer and flat slicer it is done in minute 😅😅😅
😂😂😂😂
Where you buy the fittings and hoses
Mostly amazon/ebay
That is quite the hay operation you have. Very good video.
Thanks for watching!
I bought one of these on Ali Express and it was a terrible experience. The person who did the customs paperwork was awful and caused me extra cost through delays. The wiring diagram is useless. Cheap though. I now need to order a heap of hose and fittings. The quick change tool is a must.
I had a good customs agent that made it pretty smooth. Have had no problem with the machine, has made 100's of lines!
NJW fab I’ve heard alot of good things about.
shop could use some lights
Yes its was very badly lit. Since then I haven installed 6, 100 watt LED floodlights, huge difference. You can see one of them here: ruclips.net/video/V2ewqLOrhO4/видео.htmlsi=YC00JzBcpTd3y5qL&t=871
I was hoping you had some emergency repair Without using an expensive crimper machine . A super hose clamp type part for filed repairs !
i wonder why isn't the measurement gauge calibrated
I do not know, there might be a way to adjust the zero
There is a process for calculating it just crimp a tube with proper die and measure it with calipers. There is a tiny set screw on the dial just loosen it and turn it with dial lock locked turn to the measurement of the tube that you crimped and tighten set screw. (DONE)
im think of buying the exact thing from bnt
i want to buy same crimper
how much did it cost.? and how much did you pay in taxes
If I remember right, it was around $2300, and $700 dollars of imports fees. So close to 3k when it showed up.
Lookin good! You need yankum ropes to sponsor you.
I know right 😂 that would be awesome!
Bryce says I talk too much
Naw I think it's alright. Gotta let the camera know what you're doing.
Sexy truck… the Chevy Colorado that is 😍
I drive only the sexiest vehicles
Nice 😊
Good job dude! That’s a lot of work for sure. You should look into doing frame stiffeners. At least just the center section. You would be amazed at how much it stiffens up the car. Night and day!
Thanks! I was trying to avoid doing stiffeners but I am not against it. Might just have to do it one of these days!
@@gripplife it’s not too bad. Worst part is just cleaning and prepping. Definitely worth it
@@mnvjim7900 I don't know if you saw the video of my blue xj. I did them on that, all tig welded. It was probably one of the worst welding/prep experiences I have done. Haha
Lol
Hate to see an xj get destroyed.
Me too. It's make me sad and angry 😣
Hell yeaah brother!!
Why not install straight rods?
If you are talking about the steering, I already had it and it seems to work fine so I kept it. If you are talking about the 3 link arms, They are bent for clearance to get the most up travel and highest mounting point under the jeep.
@@gripplife I think the straight levers on the steering wheel will be stronger, but it seems that the stabilizer mount is in the way.
@@Djoni_DL Exactly, it sticks out quite far!
Lol the rat rod ripper 😂
I knew you would like it! 😂
What's up with the Audio? I can't understand you.
I have a mic but it isn't adequate for what I am doing. I will get a wireless mic to make sure the next videos have good audio!
@@gripplife thank you. I was very interested in what you had to say. Thank you. I'll check back. Good luck.
Trick of the trade, wind is the noise, use any sponge wind muffler.
Great job 👏
You are making hard work of that. Yes cut on the flats to get deeper. Also a smaller diameter wheel helps. I make sure to cut as deep as possible without cutting the bit you want to keep. A nick on the hexagon doesn't matter. I never cut around. When you have both sides cut, Place it flat on an anvil, or some heavy steel. Take a small cold chisel place as near to the route end as possible and hit hard. They split quite easily, then turn over and repeat. Thanks for posting.
I'm building an MJ trail truck, but you've got a lot cooler parts than I do bud. Keep it up! If you build up to more frequent videos It will bring a significant audience. If you're anything like me, you're not after an online income, but If you get there It would help. subbed and watching for more updates and build videos.
I will have to go check out your build! I am always working on something so I thought why not share. Thanks for the sub!
@@gripplife 👍🏻 keep on sharing. People love watching good parts put on jeeps.

Well at least I know one person is interested! Thanks for the sub!
Looks like that thing does pretty good in the snow. That’s my one worry about getting a bus to go snowmobiling with. I don’t want to get stuck on rabbit ears pass
Do I need a license to drive a bus like you did? Is the length of the setup itself even legal?
Where did you get your exaust?
Looks like a steam locomotive with that smoke shooting up, heh
Amazing video, my friend, well done
Thanks for watching!!
Fire going while ur driving down the road lol
It is very cozy!
Before Keith left we decided you need an air raid siren on the bus
I would recommend going with the motogadget m-unit blue for your electrical.
That is sick, I haven't seen something like that before! Perfect for what I'm doing.
Will u make a video and show us the huge excavator Keith talks about?
Definitely want me some merch!
