Abloy Disklock Pro (padlock version) picked and gutted
Pick and gut of an Abloy Disklock Pro padlock. These a a bit different to the 2-way door lock versions as there is no disc controller, which gives much better access for picking tools and makes for a much easier pick. Still tricky though!

Abloy Protec2 picked and gutted. Fantastic lock and feels great to get it picked! Sorry the pick is quiet, I was concentrating very hard, and the gut is a bit slow because my hands were shaking! Oxford HD Max motorbike brake lock picked open. After watching other people's picks of Oxford DDs I was expecting a much easier time than I got here, that'll teach me to be complacent! Also quite tricky to work out a lock like this which can't be gutted without destroying it. Abloy 656 with US mil spec profile core picked and gutted

Beautiful brass Abloy 656 picked and gutted. Quite an unusual lock, with a removable cartridge core and more (& thinner) discs than a regular Abloy profile. Slightly harder and definitely more time consuming than a regular profile core, takes longer to develop the feedback and it's well enough made that the binding order can't be forced, so lots of back and forth to get this picked. #locksport ...

    I have 2 of these and they are an ideal size and weight for motorcycle. For a chain around a frame tube or direct to several types of disc brakes. Padlocks generally too small to be as useful as this. Also they are incredibly cheap. Fit three for the cost of one posh lock and frustrate the angle grinder! Now you've let us know they are not easy to pick, that makes them even better.

    would be nice to see someone tackle the abloy protect 2, i think it was, that has a ball bearing on the key that interacts with a springloaded one just inside the keyway, that releases the barrel to turn like 90 or 180 degrees so the the discs can then be turned. i aquired one of each, a padlock as well as a deadbolt, and the funny thing is the padlock i opened it just by unscrewing the first, i wanna say spacer i guess, and the rest came out, without needing to pick or unlock it...😂 i dont know if that supposed to be a feature or if its a massive design flaw in, at least to date, one of the only lines/styles of locks i have yet to be able to pick. but thats mainly due to equipment, or lack there of, as im not buying a sparrows or any other DD tools. instead i've been making attempts at machining my own diy hardware, mostly from things at hand. (so far the only thing money was spent on, was an injection mold ejector pin.) if you have any insights for tooling or on the locks/mechanisms, im all ears 😅

    So you have spend time to first pick this lock, get inside of it, print key from that info and then you try and say it's ez to 3d print a universal opener. If he makes that to work every lock bought straight from store, not picked, not open then i believe. But then again this isn't anything but a joke :D

    • @crispix
      @crispix 2 месяца назад

      Hey, of course it's true that a key can't readily be printed without knowledge of the lock. But that's not the point. Part of what makes Abloy locks secure (especially the Protec2) is that the keys are hard to copy. But this was copied from a single photo. So this is a demo of how now anyone with access to the key (even just for a few seconds) can make a working copy. So, it hardly makes these locks worthless, but neither are they as secure as many think - not a joke.

      @@crispix No I am sorry, I don't. 9mm profiles were given to countries, regions and customers. The profiles were separated geographically, politically and by user designation so as to maintain global security of the system. It's all based on the 9mm A (A=Open) and filters down from there with each root branch fitting into the one above until finally you have a single profile by itself. Most profiles the average person is exposed to today are base profiles which means they are close to being individual key profiles. If you understand profile master keying then that might help you. There is 230 9mm profiles in the matrix. Not all are in use and not all are manufactured. Some remain spare for future use (although it's out of date now). You'd have to find someone who is ex factory who is willing to give you the matrix graph. People who have it guard it jealously because it was not for public consumption. In short, every profile is related. Does that help ? I can explain the profile codes If you want. And I am a farmer by the way. 🙂

    • @crispix
      @crispix 3 месяца назад

      Thanks! I just tensioned in a regular way, but kept counter rotating the tension to pop out the sidebar and disengage the DC. The DC only seems partially effective, I got good feedback on many of the discs like this. However there were some in the middle of the lock where I was using knowledge of the key, which is why I say I am not completely happy. For me it's not a fully legitimate pick if it couldn't be applied blind. I am working on a tensioner which works exactly as you describe, will do a follow up as and when I get it to work

    • @MikkoRantalainen
      @MikkoRantalainen 3 месяца назад

      @@crispix When you counter rotate the tension to release the DBS bars, do you lose all feedback until you re-tension the lock? Or did you actually mean disc controller with "DC" which I think refers to the part that turns the disks to zero position before key is removed and guides the key during key insertion and removal.

    • @crispix
      @crispix 3 месяца назад

      @@MikkoRantalainenbasically I'm lightly loading the disc and counter rotate the tension till it moves as I would picking clockwise with many locks. Then reapply light tension to check disc state, repeat. In many cases the feedback is still there, but in some instances the DBS is effective and the feedback is just feeling the return bar on the disc

    • @MikkoRantalainen
      @MikkoRantalainen 3 месяца назад
