The Mexican dwarf crayfish are some of my favorites too. I find myself just watching them all the time. And you have some interesting fish! Puffers have always interested me but I haven't had the chance to keep any of the varieties yet.

It was sold to me as a Goyder River but it sure does look similar to the herbertaxelrodi. Thanks for pointing that out I’ll see if I can get a sure answer. Like you said though, it looks great either way!

I’ve heard they definitely slow down eating algae as they get larger. Mine just mainly eats fish food now. He still picks at any dying plant matter but unfortunately (or fortunately lol) I don’t have much hair algae to see if it picks at that

Since my substrate doesn’t come with any nutrients in it I use flourish tabs and the flourish liquid fertilizer. Thank you for the question!
