bonjour je voudrais savoir si sur votre site vous montré plus presisement les morceau car je ne connais pas vraiment bien les note sur une partitions j'apprend plus au visuel ?
If I understand you, the best video I can offer you is the practice tempo version at the beginning of this video. I might suggest that you use the sheet music and the video together, which could help improve your reading as well.
That's so crazy. In the beginning i thought, oh wow, some artificial harmonics. But then it's the whole thing! And also with octaves in the lead! And the backing is so nice. I'm speechless. This accurracy is unbelievable. And at the same it swings like hell. I don't know any other violonist who could that.
Thanks for your kind appreciation!
Intro was mind blowing !
How delightful!!!
This says "transcribed" but I suspect these are your solos, not Stephane. Am I wrong? In any case - Tres Tres Bien. Love your octaves.....and everything else.
It's a transcription of Django's solo. Stephane doesn't play at all on that record if I'm not mistaken. (Also the chordwork intro is Django's too.)
@swampfox7820 is correct. Here is a link to the original recording: ruclips.net/video/hNRHHRjep3E/видео.html Thank you for the compliments!
Lovely
Ohhh Yeee / ça swing grave 😉
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Awesome!! nailed it.
Wait.. how big is that viola?
The real question is: "How small is that thing??" I think it's around 15.5".
Wow, I always thought this recording was Grappelli on violin.
An easy mistake, given that he's paired with Django. But South had a much more classical sound from his firmer contact with the string. His playing also sounded more whimsical and free during this era.
@@zeppoeving I often try to pick out who's playing on the Bach concerto for 2 violins recording. I'll think that one of them is Grappelli and then the other one comes in and it's obvious that I had them backwards.
yesssssssss
Love these transcriptions for Viola. Just joined the patreon!
Welcome aboard!
That was worth listening to! Thanks!
Very nice, thanks for that great feel
Wife and I heard you with Hot Club of San Francisco playing a Sand City CA venue last year. You played Melodie Au Crépuscule which nearly brought us to tears. We were both so taken by your performance it's fair to say that you introduced us to the voiolin; and a bit embarrased to say, we're boomers. After the show we talked to you with the determined intention of encouraging you to continue with the violin. Only to get home and find that you're a world famous violinist. Silly us. Thanks Evan! will keep enjoying your sound and delicate touch via RUclips.
Thanks for the warmth and encouragement, Richard! Be well.
That really swings man…very cool
Блестящее исполнение!👍
Vorab bei n selbst Gipsy süß Deutschland und Geiger Da sage ich nur noch bravo. Und merci for the music
Made my day, great!
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing all these solo's What did you do to have a Baryton violon, are the strings just lower?
Thanks! Yes; octave strings are available from Thomastik and D'Addario.
Thank you. This is so enjoyable and impressive.
We were lucky to see them play their Beatles show at Kuumbwa in Santa Cruz. It was absolutely amazing! What other solid jazz band on the planet has attempted that, blown the audience away and made every tune you've heard for decades sound like you're hearing it for the first time? Only The Hot Club of San Francisco! Django would have dug it. Thanks.
From "Secret Story" an amazing piece of music from start to finish, not only "Antonia" but the entire album. Beautifully played, gentlemen!
I saw these guys playing this live in Hong Kong, brilliant
Omg!!! Thank you so much
Great-very useful introduction to Svend’s style!🎶🎻
I kind of like it slowed down.
Just a great musician Thanks !!
Wow! In his class at Swannanoa Gath. this past summer, he introduced us to voicing different horn sections in swing jazz (on violin). It was a new concept to me and now hearing this it makes it so very clear. His class was wonderful. I just love the tone and exact ornamentation he duplicates in this.
Damn, such a cool tune. I thought (in my dreams) that I would be the first to figure this tune out but… way cool version!! Thanks!
I imagine that it's difficult with this bow technique to play closer to the tip or frog?
Insane
Lovely playing 😊
Beautiful!
Well done on lifting all those lush harmonies! Sounds great consordini.
Wonderful playing! With respect, I hear a slight leaning towards Stephan Grapelli (sp) in your playing, and it's perfect.
Thanks! We can never really get free of our influences, can we?
The horns part on fiddle were especially cool!
5:00 Grapelli's solo
ruclips.net/video/hqlJVVBdgSQ/видео.html "This is the real melody"
Incredible!
Damn! You can really hear not just each instrument, but each player. This felt like watching Bill Hader switch in and out of celebrity impressions at a moments notice. Expertly done
evan you are a madman! i used to sight sing this every morning, i was curious how stan getz kept it so interesting for so many choruses. the notes on the page make it pretty obvious that his rhythmic phrasing is very independent of the bar, and he used a variety of note lengths, but i never had any more specific insights occur. anything you noticed playing this? thanks for such a great clip!
Thanks. Those are all good thoughts for analysis. I notice that Getz tended to drop into a few different gears mid-solo. Sometimes he's playing bebop patterns like ii-V-I's, sometimes scale patterns, sometimes blues, sometimes cross-rhythmic repetitions, sometimes riffs. And one can clearly hear the echoes of both Charlie Parker and Lester Young.
drinking game: Take a shot every time there's a ii-V-I.
