That's so crazy. In the beginning i thought, oh wow, some artificial harmonics. But then it's the whole thing! And also with octaves in the lead! And the backing is so nice. I'm speechless. This accurracy is unbelievable. And at the same it swings like hell. I don't know any other violonist who could that.

What other solid jazz band on the planet has attempted that, blown the audience away and made every tune you've heard for decades sound like you're hearing it for the first time? Wow! In his class at Swannanoa Gath. this past summer, he introduced us to voicing different horn sections in swing jazz (on violin). It was a new concept to me and now hearing this it makes it so very clear. His class was wonderful. I just love the tone and exact ornamentation he duplicates in this.

evan you are a madman! i used to sight sing this every morning, i was curious how stan getz kept it so interesting for so many choruses. the notes on the page make it pretty obvious that his rhythmic phrasing is very independent of the bar, and he used a variety of note lengths, but i never had any more specific insights occur. anything you noticed playing this? thanks for such a great clip!
