    Sorry dude you really need to give it a rest about that aluminum that's going across there. If it's shining you close your powered shade. Not a clip-in shade, not a car that doesn't have a shade, you close your powered shade when the sun is bearing down. That's what you do in any car sorry but you don't cover up beautiful aluminum trim just have to say that.

    Okay I test drove the SEL with convenience package. You get more than 1 person in the car, it seems very loose and wobbly. The engine sounds trashy especially the turbo. I test drove the limited, too. I was going to trade my Mazda 3 for it. It’s the coolest SUV I’ve seen. The features are nice and the software and room; all nice. Handling and quality or premium or even luxury isn’t there even on the limited (even though they tried). The need to better quality suspension and not be so cheap on the FWD models. That key, lmao, I saw it in person. Big and ugly and what’s funny, is that it’s too lite.

    About that tiny frunk. Here's the deal. That frunk is as small as it is because the AWD models have a motor up front which takes up quite a bit of space. In non-NA (US/Canada) markets the RWD models have a much larger frunk. However, for the NA market, since the larger frunk could be big enough for a small child to crawl into, it would require an escape handle. Because of the way that most hood latches are designed, this would require a much more complicated hood latch so Hyundai just puts the tiny frunk in all of their Ioniq 5s in NA.

    • @ricric9521
      @ricric9521 2 месяца назад

      It is poorly designed. The Tesla dual motor has the same motor up front but has tons of space comparatively. The are many videos about how well the Tesla is designed from the megacast unibody to updatable software/hardware. Build is different but getting much better

    The Lyriq's interior is exactly what a Cadillac should be. The cheap plastics are mostly gone. The knobs are chrome. Plating is chrome. switches are chrome. The rest is very tasteful materials.

  • @PassportBrosBusinessClass
    @PassportBrosBusinessClass 3 месяца назад

    The next big issue I have with my Lyriq is that the HVAC doesn't blow as cold as you'd expect nor as hot as you'd expect. Tesla has a damn powerful AC. The Lyriq's is LOUD, but you have to set it for LO to get the coldest air and MAX to get the hottest air. Then you have to turn the blower fan way up. Otherwise it takes way longer to get hot or cold.

  • @PassportBrosBusinessClass
    @PassportBrosBusinessClass 3 месяца назад

    The biggest problem I have with my Lyriq from a software perspective is that the USBc flash reader doesn't properly index files. I have thousands of songs on my USB C drive. They are organized into Folders. The Lyriq has the first infotainment I've seen in all my years that doesn't recognize folders. Even my 2006 Chrysler 300's Nav Radio could recognize folders on a mp3CD - as could the later models' MYGIG system. I have no idea how they screwed that up.

  • @PassportBrosBusinessClass
    @PassportBrosBusinessClass 3 месяца назад

    I have a 2024 Lyriq Luxury 3. Fully loaded. 19kW charger, power moonroof, 22's. The Lyriq may be the best modern Cadillac ever built. Being electric with a battery floor, it rides smoothly, it rides quietly and it feels supremely solid. Thing weighs almost 6000 pounds. Interior feels like a Mercedes product - perhaps nearing S-class quality. It's big, it's spacious and a great successor to the XT5. But therein lies the problem. The XT5 and XT6 were too good. They use Regular Unleaded gasoline, get decent gas mileage and aren't very expensive to insure or maintain. They also aren't hostage to public charging. Cadillac is probably having second thoughts trying to force its buyers into the Lyriq as they overwhelmingly prefer gas - since they enjoy long road trips up and down the coast. The Lyriq replaces XT5. The Vistiq replaces the XT6. The Optic Replaces the XT4. The Escaladeiq is supposed to replace the Escalade. But the public infrastructure is the Lyriq's greatest weakness. If you only charge at home, the car is perfect. You pay $200 a month in fuel or so and just charge every time you get low. But many people lack a house or a private charging spot. EVgo is "developing" but nowhere near as ubiquitous as Tesla chargers - which themselves - need more expansion. We need about 4 times as many public chargers as we currently have - THEN THE COUNTRY CAN GO FULL EV! I'll be happier when Tesla allows GM vehicles to use the supercharger network and I'll get the adapter for my car.

    Any product launch is always at its highest selling price throughout its life cycle. Early adopters represent 5% of consumers and will rarely complain about price reductions once their product is mass produced and facing growing competition. I bought a Tesla model Y performance back in 2020 at 84K$ CAD before 15% sales tax. Can get the same vehicle for 67K$ CAD before tax now. So I will lose at least an additional 20K$ CAD tax in before depreciation when selling or exchanging my 2020 MYP. Do you realize I could have sold my Vehicle 100k$ CAD back in early 2022 during Covid!

    I want to keep this as kind as possible.. the best advice you gave was do your research up front. Had you done this in the first place you would not be in the predicament you are in. You purchased the entry level model of a car made by a legacy automaker that is just not a good car. There are so many other things that should have been researched. The poor battery, the poor charging capabilities , the myriad of bad software issues, the lack of true over the air software updates , the lack of a ubiquitous and highly reliable charging network, and pricing comparisons with well known competitors (that are FAR more advanced) was clearly not done. Couple this with the fact that you purchased a model that did not possess all the features you ultimately ended up learning were important to you, you have a perfect storm of unhappiness with the vehicle, negative equity and now being in a market where inventories are high and interest rates are ridiculous. I recently decided to sell one of my 2020 Tesla model 3s and trade the other 2020 model 3 in and downsize to a single Tesla Model Y. Though I didn’t get as much as I would have liked, I was not upside down. Since buying new in 2020 so much had changed with manufacturing techniques and other cost cutting measures since 2020, I paid less for the new Model than I did in 2020 for a car that was objectively better in every way so the depreciation was pretty much a wash. Also, buying direct from the manufacturer (no dealers, no dealer mark-ups, no BS “market adjustments”, etc is a plus over buying from legacy autos/dealers is another point of research that should be considered. Also, take into account the maintenance costs. Tesla vehicles only require washer fluid, windshield wipers, and tires. We had nearly zero maintenance issues over 4 years and the tiny items we did have were solved quickly, efficiently and at no cost by the service department. And finally, all three cars were made in the US by US workers and with the highest percentage of American made parts of any car brand and by a company dedicated to passing cost savings to the consumer. We were extremely happy with our cars which is why we purchased another when we decided to upgrade. So in conclusion, yes.. as you say, research research research… It will solve most of the headaches you mentioned. Good luck with your channel and moving to a car you will be happier with.
