Great info… but many must ask what about the extension to Doseley? Money is an issue one understands, but this certainly been in the making for a long time without an end in sight. im sure many others are of the same opinion you need this asap to attract more interest?

I think there are drop in alarms. I know there are drop in fire suppression systems, based on fine mist sprinklers, which might head off a worst case scenario of a major fire.

My blood is boiling at this awful event and heartbreaking. It's bad enough seeing freight wagons graffitied running on the mainline but this goes beyond that as everything is done voluntary. Perhaps the railway should start a gofundme page as it certainly deserve as much money to restore the signal box.

I used to be a signalman at Madeley Junction and I'm surprised to hear it's still there, I assumed it would have been demolished when all the others in the area were.

Oh, sad with the ongoing vandalism… You may have this already, but I was thinking of _really simple & cheap_ security (home) webcams and PIR floodlights? I know, these simple cameras aren’t safe when it comes to user data being stolen, but something may be better than nothing. The lights with a PIR sensor are dirt cheap and not ‘smart’, literally LED work lights. Plop up some signs about the cameras, and the lights turning on - maybe an insignificant deterrent, but… Best wishes from 🇳🇴…!
