When not in use, can it withstand sub freezing temps? IE: A Maine cabin that's not used all the time......We'll be there full time eventually but not right away...
Good question! The short answer is yes. However, you should be aware that if the room the appliance is in is below freezing, the food inside will eventually freeze as well. If you're not going to be at the location for extended periods, to be safe it's better to remove the contents and disconnect the power. If it's installed and in use year-round, and the room occasionally drops below freezing, the unit will still function but again, if your room is below freezing for days in a row the food in the refrigerator compartment will freeze.
Glad you said c pap the main reason my girlfriend wanted one
"I've never talked so much about poop." LOL. 60-100 flushes for a 20gal propane tank - that's the first time someone has said this. Cool. Does the Travel model need to be roof-vented, or can it be vented to the side in a camper van via flexible pipe?
What is max number of flushes before one can start the burn cycle?
You would 'flush' each time, meaning the cycle would start immediately. You can interrupt the cycle at any time, and it will resume when the next user is finished.
@@TheCabinDepotLtd thank you for such a quick response. Is this also 60 to 100 flushes per 20lb propane tank?
@@mikefranks4528 You're welcome :) And the answer is yes. It will fluctuate depending on the composition and size of the deposit
My Sunstar DC freezer bought in 2017 was made in China. It experienced a surge when the Lifepo4 battery went open circuit due to overcharging and the freezer is dead. What component is most likely to need replacement?
All SunStar appliances are manufactured in the USA now. Early models had the compartments made in China before the new USA factory came on board. If you experienced a power surge, that would normally pop the fuse at the battery or power source if installed, or if not, the internal fuse just before the control board. You can check that first, and if it's not blown, chances are it's the control board. If needed, reach out to us at info@thecabindepot.com and we'd be happy to have someone reach out from the factory on your behalf!
@@TheCabinDepotLtd Thank you.
@@dbcrn859 You're very welcome!
You probably blow a fuse.... My sun dash frig used a resistor as a fuse... So look for a burnt out resistor...
I can use the first model for number one and two and feminine products? Right? How long does it take again for electric model and propane model to fully incinerate each flush?
You can use any of our incineration toilet models (Freedom, Comfort, or Travel) for all waste including feminine hygiene products. The duration of the incineration cycle depends on the size of the deposit. For example, urine doesn't take very long to evaporate, but a #2 would take longer. Generally speaking, between 40 and 50 minutes. It's important to note that other users can interrupt that cycle if they need to go to the restroom, and it will resume again when they are finished.
How loud are the compressors? How much power does the upper section (fridge only) draw when operating on dc power (Leaving the lower compartment off)?
The compressor noise would be the same as any conventional refrigerator. Under normal circumstances you won't hear it at all. Or if the home is totally quiet, you may hear a small hum only when the compressor is operating.
What happens if the kids forget to use that paper liner bag, can I just clean it out with a spray bottle of detergent and water… flush and burn???
That's correct!
I’m surprised that the urinal portion doesn’t have a bidet seat attachment.
That's a good idea, but the intent of this design is to provide a waterless solution for areas that have limited access to water
Wish it had an automatic clean button for everything, vents and so on, with no brushes needed. Like that everything turns to ash, easy dump.
“But here we are!”
Love it! To pricey for me.
Thank you for the comment and we're glad you love our Cinderella! :) As the only UL and NSF certified incineration toilet available in North America, Cinderella is meant as an alternative to traditional septic whereever it's not practical or available. With that in mind, this is a technologically advanced machine and quite revolutionary as it requires no water to operate. So while it may appear expensive when compared to a porcelain toilet (that has to connect to a septic or sewer system), or compared to other types of off-grid toilets such as composting which requires regular maintenance and generates odors, the Cinderella performs the entire function of a septic system by collecting and incinerating all waste with just sterile ash remaining.
Nice way to keep the rivers clean and to fertilize the lands
A question about period products - a lot of them contain plastics, would you need to have a talk with guests etc about plastic content of their products 😅, as to what can incinerate? Like, are there some that just can't be incinerated?
That is a very good question. The Cinderella line of incineration toilets are the only UL and NSF certified solution available in North America today. They are specifically designed to incinerate human waste including all paper or wood-based products including such as toilet paper, tissues, pads and tampons. Of course there are some applicators still made of plastic, but if they are put into the Cinderella they will also be incinerated with only ash remaining. While not recommended (you are of course burning a small volume of plastic but releasing chemicals by doing so) it won't harm the system unless done regularly as it can prematurely clog the catalytic converter.
Very good video on the OGO compost toilet. Just recieved OGO by delivery. I watch several videos, just to verify the battery connection part, but no clarity until i saw this video. Thanks so much for the visual on the entire process.
A 48 volt option would be helpful to match standard full time off grid systems. Not cost effective to build an entire solar array, charge controller and battery bank just for a freezer. A tip for the video editing: lower the background noise or don’t add it all while someone is talking.
Thank you for the feedback! Manufacturers offered a 48v DC version in the past but the vast majority of customers were seasonal use cabins or smaller homesteads using 12v or 24v battery storage. So manufacturers tend to focus on those models that are in the greatest demand, which have controllers that can accommodate either 12v or 24v DC input. This also coincides with the mobile / RV and marine markets that utilize 12v or 24v DC primarily. DC appliances not usually the primary reason for the off-grid solar setup, they are an addition to an already existing system. Larger off-grid systems these days are 48v + inverters meaning they already have AC power run though the structure that remains energized 24/7, so there is an optional adapter that can be used (link attached). There is a slight conversion loss using the adapter, but customers still benefit from the lower energy consumption and superior build quality offered by SunStar vs traditional AC appliances. A stand-alone solar system to power these appliances will of course depend on geographic location & solar resources, but generally speaking, customers in the Lower 48 that want to build a dedicated solar power system just for the appliance would require 1 or 2 larger solar panels facing south and unobstructed, and 2 x deep cycle batteries. Costs depend on the local market prices for solar & batteries, but for about $1000 you'd have a system that will operate the appliance independently year-round. I'm happy to say that a 48v version is being planned, we don't however have an ETA at this time. And we'll be sure to pass along your feedback about the background noise as well to the creator of this video :) www.thecabindepot.com/products/kedron-24v-10a-110v-adaptor-power-converter?_pos=2&_sid=af6c8bdf4&_ss=r
Not off grid (misnomer) uses to much energy
Actually, the Freedom model operates using a small amount of 12vDC and propane. It is UL and NSF certified and designed specifically for off-grid situations such as cabins or off-grid homesteads. The Cinderella Travel is another off-grid model and the first and only UL certified incineration toilet designed specifically for RV's and mobile applications. The Cinderella Comfort is an electric model, and we have many off-grid customers that have larger solar power systems using this model today. The Cinderella line of incineration toilets are designed to be a waste management solution for customers that cannot connect to traditional septic because it's either not possible or practical for their situation. Customers looking for a full composting, light composting, urine diverting, or portable 'basic' toilets solution can also find those on our website.
HOLY COW. 150 USES BEFORE EMPTYING.
It varies depending on, shall we say, the type and volume of the deposits ;) but since the units are UL and NSF certified they will completely incinerate the waste leaving only sterile ash in the bin which would be emptied as needed.
That a interesting subject on #2 😮 4500 ouch 😳 something to think about like he said septic tank can be very expensive i like to know on 1 yr reviews to 2 & 3 all products has a cons what are the cons
Cinderella incineration toilets have been around now for more than 3 decades with installations in countries all over the world. Designed and manufactured in Norway to the highest standards, they are the only fully UL and NSF certified incineration toilets available in North America today. A 3 year standard residential use warranty applies. Cinderella is a septic solution for when a connection to municipal sewers, or the installation of an independent septic systems just isn't possible or practical. Cinderella is an excellent solution and likely the closest experience to a 'regular' flush toilet that you will experience when compared to other products such as composting, urine diverting, etc. And we aren't biased - we use and offer all forms of off-grid toilets to our customers! :) However, I would like to point there is nothing as convenient as a flush toilet. If you have connection to a municipal sewer system, or are able to install a septic tank & septic field in an off-grid property, although that will cost more money, it will allow for the best 'experience'. If you have more questions, feel free to give us a call anytime at 1-844-603-4743 and we'd be happy to answer!
What about toilet paper? I’m assuming that shouldn’t be a problem…
That’s correct !
How do you manage the bathroom. Awesome video. Amazing spot. Love to learn. Thank you
The property actually had a working septic tank already installed when they bought it. They told me it was a really nice surprise to find that.
We do also sell all types of septic-free off-grid bathroom solutions as well. You can find our website in the video description above.
I have a beautiful off grid property and house in NS on a nice lake, very secluded , would love to have two off grid cabins but the areas I want to put them the eagles and osprey have nesting sites there along the shore lines, the cabins would definitely be booked solid but nature comes first...I love the Cabin Depot. I also lived in NB and fished many places along the Miramichi from its headwater to Fredericton...Thanks for the video.
This is excellent, congrats! Can't seem to find the rest of the video on the website. And congrats on the new location in Nfld. ( From Nova Scotia..)
Thanks for your support. The full video should be linked on our Canadian homepage now. It can also be found on our RUclips channel. :)
Looking at efficiency it would be better if you could use it multiple times before firing the incinerator to save propane that would be best in my opinion using a significant amount of energy for one number 2 over time for off gridders could really add up
That is a good point and one that was considered, but the design today is specific to single use at a time due to 2 reasons: hygiene and certifications. To achieve the only fully UL and NSF certified toilets available in North America, you can't "collect" human waste unprocessed in a primary open container as such prior to incineration. To somewhat address the point you've asked about, the Cinderella Urinal is designed as an option to accommodate the #1 (being the most frequent requirement) so that it reduces the need for the Cinderella Comfort or Freedom incineration process to save energy (electricity or propane respectively) and wear. For those off-grid without a large solar system to accommodate the Comfort model, the Freedom consumes only 180g of propane per incineration cycle. There are other videos that touch on the installation, use, and requirements such as this one done by Jordan Jonas: ruclips.net/video/UHWpgodBAUc/видео.html
I'm comparing this to the Unique brand, trying to avoid the propane. This might be the winner!
✋✌👌👍!
I’m not sold. So I spend 5,000 dollars on a toilet and not only have to buy toilet paper for life, but now poop bags? I’m not a dog. And that’s a lot of money.
I have 6 dogs so the poop bag bill is gonna be high
An interesting comment lol. But as the video suggests, the Cinderella is UL and NSF certified and designed specifically to turn human waste into sterile ash. It's a solution for areas that cannot connect to traditional septic systems. An example of where a Cinderella would be beneficial would be someone with a homestead of cabin trying to meet building codes, and cannot practically install a traditional septic system. Or in the case of an RV, it would replace the messy black water tanks. Of course there are other products out there ranging from composting to urine diverting toilets (and we offer them all so we aren't biased!). We even have a basic bucket with a plastic toilet seat for customers looking for the most basic solution :) Just be careful where you dump it!
is ventilation can just face behind or under bacause I want use In RV don’t know is working properly
The Cinderella Comfort (electric) and Freedom (LPG) are stationary models and not designed for use in RV's. The Cinderella Travel was released this year and designed specifically for use in mobile applications. Please visit our website to learn more about this model, or give us a call anytime at 1-844-603-4743 and our team would be happy to answer any questions you may have or give product recommendations for your specific application :)
Wow had no idea incinerator toilets came in propane. So intriguing
That's right :) The Cinderella line of incineration toilets come in both electric or propane options and are the only UL and NSF certified models available in North America today. The new Cinderella Travel operates on propane also, and is UL certified and designed specifically for RV's and mobile applications to replace the old black water tank systems.
I have a travel trailer and I plan on having it hooked up full time and only moving it when necessary. But I'd like to look into getting one of these. Can the propane model incinerate as fast as electric? Just curious for deciding which model should I get one of these. I just don't want to deal with a black water tank for the potential nasty problems it can have. Ew 😅. I'd start the incineration cycle once a day just before going to bed. Just so it has a chance to do its thing while I sleep. I'd need to have my current toilet removed but keep it so when I go to sell the trailer one day to upgrade to another I can put the original toilet back and keep the incinerator toilet to put in the next one. Don't want to give it up as these toilets are expensive. I know nothing about installing these things either so I'd need professional help to make sure it's done right.
The new Cinderella Travel is UL certified and designed specifically for RV's and mobile applications to replace the mess & fuss of black water tanks, so the Travel sounds like a good solution for you. The installation isn't difficult for DIY'ers but we always recommend using a qualified installer for warranty purposes. And they are designed to incinerate after each use. If you can send us an e-mail to info@thecabindepot.com or call 1-844-603-4743 someone would be happy to discuss your project and see if there are installers close to you :)
Can you modify the toliet seat on the unit?
Sorry, but unfortunately no. Due to the safety mechanisms attached to the seat, it would be quote difficult to modify / customize.
@@TheCabinDepotLtd Thanks for the reply you guys are awesome!
@@pandabear194 You're welcome - and thank you :)
I am a little worried about failure ..What is the warrenty on such a unit as this ...As with any gas fired appliance especially propane what is the service cycle ?
Good question. The Cinderella line of incineration toilets come with an industry leading 3-year warranty. This model is UL and NSF certified, which is again the only incineration toilet with these certifications today. Like any appliance, for warranty to apply they need to be installed correctly and maintained. Emptying the ash bin regularly, and performing the cleaning as outlined in the owners manual will result in optimal performance and reduce premature wear & maintenance. You can find the owner manuals using the links above which outlines the cleaning schedule in more detail.
I take it uses to much energy for a solar set up in a conversion van?
There have been customers purchase and use the electric Comfort for that purpose, but they are designed to be a stationary model and warranty void if installed in a van as it can’t satisfy the specific venting requirement. The Cinderella Travel is designed specifically for RV’s, vans, and other mobile applications. It uses LPG and 12v to operate the control board. It’s also more compact and venting designed for this purpose, and the only UL certified model available in North America. Feel free to reach out anytime if you have any other questions via our email, chat, or call 1-844-603-4743 :)
@@TheCabinDepotLtd I just found and watched a video showing how it can be done in a van. It was a Cinderella toilet. Thank you.
We are aware of videos that show the Comfort model being used in vans. Just know that warranty is void and the performance may not be the same since the ventilation requirements can’t be properly met. We do not endorse using Comfort for any other purpose except stationary applications.
Demo would be more complete if you had demonstrated cleaning the unit.
Can they be used in a wet bath? As in, are they water proof/resistant?
There's a RUclips video that has one of these in a wet bath.
What size fuse should I use for the fan?
The fan motor is 12v and rated at just 1.6W, so a 3A fuse is all that's required.
Thanks so much, I took my best uneducated guess and went with 3A. So that’s great! :)
I want to add a bidet (water pick for my butt) to a camper toilet - possibly on a F150 hybrid with 7500 watt power. :) Do people use these in campers? Can you pause the cycle for when you are running down the road? How are the air vents affected by 65 mph wind?
We've never been asked about adding a bidet... so you may need to reach out by phone and ask for our technical expert regarding that matter. However, I can say that the new Cinderella Travel is more suitable for mobile applications such as campers as it's designed for that purpose. And yes, you can pause the cycle by lifting the lid, do your business, and the incineration cycle will resume. And as a closed air combustion system, wind does not affect combustion provided the installation is done correctly.
How much are the liners?
At present, a 500 pack of liners is $69.99 which translates to 13.4 cents per liner.
what about when bizznezz is BAD!
Well... good or bad. Big or small loads... it doesn't matter. The Cinderella will incinerate them all :) Just like any toilet, if you make a mess during the process then you're still cleaning it up!
Is there a weight limit for people sitting on it?
The Cinderella Freedom and Comfort are rated for up to a 440lb capacity.
I'm convinced and look forward to making my first incineration toilet purchase but do you have any thoughts on the propane models? Can I assume that a 220 electric would be less expensive to run than a 110? Also, I have some reservations about size and price. I don't spend a lot of time sitting on toilets but I want to be comfortable when I do. Seat size would affect comfort. Are the seats standard size or smaller? And finally, my research shows that a propane toilet sells for around $5k where the incinolet electric is only around $2600. This price difference makes me question the quality of the electric. It is true that you get what you pay for.
All great questions! Cinderella today offer 3 different models in North America: Cinderella Freedom (LPG) and Cinderella Comfort (220v) which are for stationary applications and the only fully UL & NSF certified models available, and the Cinderella Travel which is designed for mobile applications and again the only UL certified model of it's kind. The amount of energy required to properly incinerate waste is the same regardless of the energy source used. For example, comparing apples to apples, it would take 2x as long using a 110v source for each incineration cycle vs 220v. Using a lower voltage reduces the maximum heating capacity at any given time. Think of an electric clothes dryer for example, all standard size residential dryers are 220v. It's important to mention that Cinderella Comfort connects only to 220v for the same reason. The Cinderella Comfort also has closed combustion system, meaning it draws in fresh air from the outside and important to note when comparing to other manufacturers. That model is always recommended if you have access to grid power and it has a lower up-front cost. Some exceptions of course can be made for customers who have larger off-grid solar power systems with 220v inverters and ample battery capacity available. For off-grid cabins and homesteads, the Cinderella Freedom (LPG) is used. That model is identical in size to the Comfort, but uses LPG as the primary energy source for incineration, and a standard 20lb BBQ style tank can provide 75 'flushes' on average (although most customers will use a dual tank setup, or 100lb tanks for convenience). The Freedom then uses a small amount of 12vDC power to operate the control panel and exhaust fan during operation, usually supplied by a standard 12v deep cycle battery or adapter. The Comfort and Freedom toilet size itself is slightly larger than a conventional flush toilet, and the seat itself is about the same size as a normal toilet would have, but with a slightly different shape. Compared to other incineration toilet products available today, I can say quite comfortably there is no comparison when it comes to build quality, performance, certifications, or warranty. The distributor does a good job of outlining the differences if you visit this link offgriddistribution.com/collections/cinderella-incinerating-toilets-accessories Lastly - for customers who do not have access to municipal septic or the installation of a septic system isn't practical or possible, the Cinderella line of incineration toilet solutions would in our opinion be the best option. But I'd like to point out that no type of alternative toilet (composting, urine diverting, or incinerating) is as convenient as a flush toilet. All require some level of care and maintenance. I you have any other questions, please give us a call anytime at 1-844-603-4743 and someone would be happy to help :)
Need one for in house 110V or 220v. Like to have some idea what they cost. I currently am using a Incinolet.

Good question - the answer is... you don't have to wait :) If someone uses the toilet, and someone else comes in afterwards and the unit is still incinerating, they only need to lift the lid and the incineration process will pause. The new person can use the toilet, and when they close the lid the process will resume. The advanced safety features and superior build quality means that even when the process is interrupted, there is no excess heat or smell to worry about for any users that follow.
I didn't even know this was a thing, Im converting a trailer into a toy hauler and with this I wouldn't have to plum a black tank, I already got propane. Great video!
Thank you for the compliment! The new Cinderella Travel is now available in the USA and coming this summer to Canada. That model is designed specifically for RV's, sprinter vans, and other mobile applications. www.thecabindepot.com/products/cinderella-travel-incineration-toilet
@@TheCabinDepotLtd Wait...what??? So is the "Travel" a better application for my van? Or are there benefits to having the "Comfort" in a van build?
@@mikefranks4528 The Travel is the only UL certified incineration toilet available in North America designed specifically for RV's and other mobile applications. The Comfort and Freedom models are designed for stationary applications. We have heard of customers installing the Comfort in a van build as they prefer to use the direct vent & electric version, but they are voiding warranty by doing so.
The propane model cannot be used with natural gas right?
Hello - good question! And you are correct. The reason is that Natural Gas is normally available to urban areas that are also connected to the electrical grid. The Cinderella Comfort is the electric model and designed for that purpose. For off-grid applications, the propane (LPG) model is available for stationary applications such as cabins or off-grid homesteads, or the Travel model which is made for mobile applications such as RV's, sprinter vans, boats, etc. Since natural gas isn't "portable" and requires connection to a natural gas line, propane is used and the Freedom and Travel models are configured exclusively to use propane only. I hope that helps!
Can it take a 3 prong plug?
Absolutely
