    Wow! I didn’t know how much I needed this! I cried and laughed right along with you. I was one of those many people that your mom touched and left an impact on. I don’t know if you guys remember spending a few Thanksgivings with us when you were little. Those are fond memories for me and my family. Belinda was so loved. She was such a gift to the rest of us and I feel as though you guys are her love letter to the world. She shines so brightly through all of you. You are so right, she was such a reflection of who Jesus was, and I’m so honored I got to experience that. You are keeping her legacy alive and bright. She would be so proud of all of you. Keep doing what you are doing! I would love to see a future episode with all the siblings. Que Dios los siga bendiciendo! ❤Kio

    Estoy tan de acuerdo con todo lo que dijeron acerca de Pastora Belinda, y creo que David lo dijo correctamente fue y sigue siendo un ejemplo a seguir, ella imitó a Jesús y nos mostró con su forma de vivir como debemos vivir. a sido un privilegio tan grande haberla conocido, haber compartido con ella, haber aprendido de ella, por 13 años. Mi mejor amiga, ay tanto que hablar de ella, Dios mío diré como dicen en la Movie de Troy: “Que digan que Vivi en el tiempo de Belinda Pérez”, “que digan que serví al lado de Belinda Pérez”. • @clau623
    @clau623 Месяц назад

    Do you find that churches now have become more about show and who has the most members? I find that some of the biggest churches have turned the worship music into more of a concert style, with lights instead of just worship. Of course this attracts people but is this a wrong way to do it?

    • @TheBetterEverydayPodcast
      @TheBetterEverydayPodcast Месяц назад

      Answer from Nate: God deserves our very best and we should give it to Him, just as the Israelites did in the old testament. The tabernacle of God was precisely designed and adorned. The temple of God was extravagantly designed and was both glamorous and beautiful. Solomon gathered the best of the best to design and fulfill the duties within the temple. However, the purpose and focus was always God. The temple was a place to be in God’s presence and everything they did had meaning that was God centered. If you go to some of the beautiful catholic churches around the world and take a tour you can see that there was also meaning behind their architecture and placement of things to specifically honor God. We now look at our church today and we ask for meaning and purpose. Are we honoring God or honoring our desire of entertainment. This is a huge question of the heart of our churches. Are we like the church of Ephesus; doing and presenting grand services but essentially without Christ in Mind? Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:26-27 How close are we to this? Or are we more invested in million dollar productions. These are questions and thoughts that I too struggle with. I was actually telling my wife this week, that we need to be better stewards the needs of God’s people. So are large productions wrong? A waste? Misguided? Unnecessary? I don’t know. But I do know that all things are permissible but not all things are beneficial. So just because we can put on a huge production, it doesn’t mean we should especially if it unbalances our priorities in loving God’s people.

    • @TheBetterEverydayPodcast
      @TheBetterEverydayPodcast Месяц назад

      Response from Grace: the biggest problem I see is consumerism Christianity. "Excellence" as preference seems to perpetuate this. We want "good" preaching, and "good" worship, and a "good" building. I think that some of the most "excellent" churches aren't making disciples, and yet maybe they are making converts. I'm wrestling with this and would love to continue to the conversation.

    • @TheBetterEverydayPodcast
      @TheBetterEverydayPodcast Месяц назад

      Response from David: I think it all has to do with the hearts of the leaders of the church. I believe there should be a lead pastor and a board that holds Him accountable and also helps with decision making. It is true that as a church grows, there is an influx of finances, and usually the first thought is, how do we steward these finances correctly? And usually that means upgrades. This is where the heart is checked because finances usually amplifies what is in a persons heart. If there is a desire for a bigger spotlight, the actions will reflect, and if there is a desire to help members and people in need, that will also reflect in the actions that are taken. There is a passage in 1 Corinthians 9: 20-23 that says: “To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.” And so, if the plan is to attract more people, I would not say that it is a bad thing. If it is just for the sake of having a lot of members then that definitely is a recipe for disaster because you will have to continue feeding the members entertainment to keep them coming. But if the point is to attract people and you have a process of growth set in place in the church where people can be discipled and walked with, then in that scenario, I see the upgrades as an investment into the kingdom because there is a purpose that is more than pride, ego, or personal growth, it is a heart for spreading the gospel and blessing people.

    What advice would you give when trust has been broken and anger is in the way. How can this start to get better if one person is so angry and no longer trusts the other person.

    • @TheBetterEverydayPodcast
      @TheBetterEverydayPodcast Месяц назад

      We believe it is not a question of anger but a question of desire and will. Is there a desire or a will for the relationship to work? If so, then healing between the two would be step one but that in itself requires trust. If the person originally hurt cannot allow himself/herself to forgive and move forward then the will for the relationship to work is not there. There must be repentance and forgiveness. Now repentance does not promise you it may never happen again and that is where the heart must be weighed. Maybe they really were trying and it was a slip up… it’s hard to say but that is also why seeking counseling helps a lot. If both parties agree to it, that is definitely a step forward and evidence that both parties want to make an effort for the relationship to work. Thank you very much for the question and hope this helps. We welcome any follow up questions or clarification if it’s needed!

    Wow! The second time I heard this advice. 🥹❤️ Back in 2017, I was starting a caregiving agency, and as always, I wanted to do multiple things at once, so I decided to run two other businesses (online clothing and sell Honduran food on weekends) During bible studies, one of the brothers asked me, "What do I do for work?" And I proudly answered "oh I do many things, I have 3 small businesses that I am praying to grow." he said, "Oh nice, I see." Can I give you some advice? I said sure. "He said dedicate at one business and give it your all-time, money dedication, and it will grow. " " You have 3 businesses that you give partial time imagine giving your all to this one business. That night I stayed thinking, and did that, closed down the food business, placed on hold the online clothing boutique and dedicated to the homecare business and from 2017 to now I can see a big growth. What changed? My time, my focus, I was consistent, I got really good in what I did and was able to train others to work with same work etiquette as me. I started with my sisters (caregivers) a year later I needed to hire outside my siblings as we were busy and couldn't cover everything ourselves. Now I want to grow this business and add other branches to it like (social media) Thank you for this advice on how to handle social media 🙏❤️ (I have tried a couple of times and I tend to give up fast when I dont see results 🥹) I will stay consistent 💯 Thank you both so much! You guys are a great Blessing 🙌 Each week, one topic that hits right at heart ❤️

    I have two questions David , Do you still have some kind of resentment towards your dad for not been the dad you wanted or wish for him to be ? What would you say to young adults who haven’t been able to forgive their dad and don’t want anything to do with him ?

    • @TheBetterEverydayPodcast
      @TheBetterEverydayPodcast 2 месяца назад

      Hi Yadira! Thank you for your questions! 1. No I do not have resentment towards my dad. With time and maturity I saw that my dad did try the best he could and I could never take that away from him. I have also realized that us as humans tend to not appreciate what we have and always want and complain about what we don’t have. I recognize that my story was written by God and I had to go through what I went through to be who I am now and it is all thanks to God. 2. I would say it is important to forgive. If you don’t forgive you’ll be carrying and dragging around unnecessary weight that won’t allow you to become who you are called to become. “Unforgiveness chains us to the past, poisons the present, and keeps us from what the Lord has for our future.” We must forgive because we ourselves have been forgiven. To be able to forgive your father will also cause grace to come over your life because one day you will be a parent and you won’t be perfect, you will slip up and make mistakes, and you’ll know it is okay to ask for forgiveness from your child, it’ll be okay to forgive yourself, and you will be breaking cycles from your past to set up your future generations for better tomorrows.

    I agree with Grace about waiting won’t make a difference. I was the one who told my husband to wait until I graduated college(4years dating) to get married. And now that I am older (wiser) I wish I would have married him with in the year we started dating. I knew he was supposed to be my husband a few months after asking him to be my boyfriend ❤.

    Wow ❤️ I had paused from hosting small groups at my house at the beginning of this year in order to reboot my life. I went a year of big changes (Divorce, moving out, financial struggles etc), and my emotions were not in the right place. I felt guilty for not serving in this area because of the people in the group my family and friends, but I needed to heal some areas first and be in a good state of mind and heart. I thought I was the only one asking myself the why of my service.. Is it to be seen and look up to or to help others. I always check myself to make sure my heart is in the right place and that the intention starts and ends with Jesus being glorified. I saw the title of this podcast and didn't think it would touch some areas in my life 🙏❤️

      Wow!!! Thank you for sharing that and sharing your heart. We know the hard times can take a toll on us and there will be seasons where we need to run to the Father, have moments with just you and Him to gain strength, wisdom, identity, and it is really encouraging to read what you wrote and know that it is okay to take time off of serving in a ministry at church because we need time to recover, regroup, and be poured into by our Father as well. Checking our hearts is very very important. If it isn’t genuine, we should not be doing it. Plain and simple. Thank you very much for sharing that!
