Great hands-on learning bro. That shroud had me urking for a bit, but eventually you got it (on and off) That line is way too much for that 91. They should run NO BIGGER than .105" line; too big and you risk overloading the engine. .095" is actually ideal for them for load and line feeding.

Thanks Bald Guy. I replaced the carb on my 90r yesterday and fumbled with it ALL DAY LONG. I had to walk away a couple of times from frustration. Finally, after the last walk away I think I got it running right. Not an expert, but I didn't fumble anymore than you did so I don't feel so bad about it. 😂I will try and start her up again today and see if it's still running ok. Wish me luck.

Hey non ethanol fuel and leave the fuel in there. It keeps everything nice and oiled up.

Do you know where the wires connect for the copper coil piece? Mine broke off and I can't see where they were connected. Or what that part even does

Thanks and almost all batteries should be loaded down a little when testing. So the best way to test a battery with a VOM is to connect a ~10Ω ~20watt resistor, right across the battery. Those numbers are only rough ballpark. In other words, the super-high resistance of the great digital meters is a disadvantage in this case. In more other words, folks not using the load resister may see a false reading - the battery may measure apparently good with no resistor load on it. The loaded voltage reading may be good at first, a bad battery here will show the voltage dropping quite quickly.

Must have some really poor quality fuel up there for that to happen. I would suggest maybe running a tank of Alkalyte fuel through the tank before storage (Stihl motomix or Aspen 2).

I have the exact same blower. And the same problem. Blower will fire up after about 5 pulls, but then dies right out, EXACTLY like at 5:37-5:47. What size fuel lines are those? Thinking about doing what you did but I don't know what size fuel lines I need. One thing that is different, on mine the red throttle lever goes all the way up to about the vertical position, whereas yours only goes up about to the rabbit. And my throttle travel is really sloppy, with no real 'stops' between the throttle being all the way down and and almost straight up (although it's always been this way since i got it a few years ago and has worked fine until the first startup of this season). Not sure what that means for my unit?

Just picked one up at the local 2nd hand store for the price if a sandwich and it works perfect. Came with the fast charger and metal case too, thanks for showing the insides in case i gotta dig in there. Also you had the second battery inserted backwards hence it didn't work, after lifting the contacts you installed it the right way hence it worked.

These are good trimming saws and get the job done cheaper than a high dallor saw, if it’s once a year thing after use just drain fuel and put a full bottle of oil in tank and pump it thru carb, keep bottle and drain when needed 😊

Those inverters are very handy to have in the car. Our van has one built-in, and when we were out of power last year, I started the van and charged up battery-operated items for a while. They are definitely worth the investment.

I work on the cheap poulan pro 4218 all the time and most are just given to me, the hasq are the ones I fix the most frequently and they don’t mind putting money in them I personally use the poulan pro for my self and they hold up pretty well to a good day of work if I keep switching them out every other tank

If you think it might be carbon, fill it up with B12 and keep it full for a week and check it 😊

Red armor is great oil I think and it’s what I use myself and in customer equipment also The ultra is questionable I think

Soak the piston in B12 several days and check it then, do the same with the jug Looks like wrong oil or regular motor oil with Teflon

I use the FS91R Stihls. I have 8 of them and I have never had to replace a carb. I never drain the fuel prior to winter. Put fuel stabilizer in it and run it for about a minute. Change your filters and plug and you should be fine. The reason you’re getting a hundred dollar bill is the carb is around 35.00 plus markup and labor. Thats actually pretty cheap.

That pick-up fuel line slipped into the gas tank way too easily to seal properly (you should do better than just "living with this one") and was also too small to get that filter on it properly. Surprised it started and ran so well.

First thing I do is remove muffler and look at piston or plug and put camera in it 😊

When I put the AAA's in, the clock came on but with a fully charged Ryobi 18v, nothing else works.

Jist opened mine, brand new, outta the box & it doesn't work at all 🙄 Bought 2, one for a gift to my ol' Man but figured I'd try mine first to see if he'd like it.. Good thing i didn't give it to him.

You need to get a maintenance manual. It will come apart much easier and go gack together quicker too.
