Hi I'm trying to build my career in forestry. I'm in my 5th year studying forestry and wood Technology here in Nigeria Moved to building my LinkedIn in forestry but I don't know how. I'm currently stuck on what to do. I want to land a remote job in forestry before I leave cause I'm currently in my final year
I'm interested in forestry.
You need to rename your field from 'Forestry' to 'Logging'. Until then, you're being intentionally deceitful. This molestation of the earth at the hands of such ignorant people has gone on far too long. You could harvest FAR more timber if done sustainably and with better methods but you literally haven't innovated your field one bit since they began logging. All the motors and tools were inventions of other fields, just re-implemented. An before you ask, planting more trees for you to cut down again is not "sustainable," no.

Forestry is one the best studying field, but in some countries like mine there is no career opportunities for us. Anyway I love my degree.

There is community with mushrooms trees and plants, not just animals ... You are helping kill this planet and our future generations

Do you need a college degree to work on this industry?
Depends on what you mean by "this industry". For example, there are people who cut the tree and the logs and others who transport the wood or other technical jobs, they don't need studies just the expertise. But in order to make Forestry managing, soil managing, conservation planning and such yeah, you need to study. If you have any questions you can ask me, I'm a "Forestry engineering" student

In order for some trees to grow, some may need to be taken down as they're in the way of the growth of healthy trees. Plus, usually trees being planted and taken down(either bc theyre sick, or for the woof, etc) is an equal number.
