Started his big league career as a reliever, became a closer, moved to a 7th-inning man, then became a starter and ended his career in that role.
Looks like ol Hunter Biden in the thumbnail
He wasnt funny
What is the point of running the bases. It just slows the game down.
Den a nen a nen a Nena batman!!!
They may be in L A but they will always be the Brooklyn Dodgers
Cock and stride, Mike!
Died way too young. Sorely missed. RIP
And to this day people still think the GM acquiring ancient, washed players who obviously perform poorly under bloated contracts is somehow the manager's fault
Forgot about Ed Coleman and his "ah, uh, ah". Hard to believe someone who can't speak a sentence without these goofy pauses made a career as an on air reporter.
Mammoth shot? It landed in the fifth row right over the wall.
Home run would have been fine
Apologies. Just trying to use a descriptive word for the title and felt that fit a straw homer.
I love that the Phillies started him against the Yankees in 2009
Great player and the light of redemption shines upon him after many battles with illness and addiction.
What a ball player!
These imagen are from the video 1986 A year to remember.
I just learned about Roger Clemens and Mindy McCreadys relationship and suicide. If you didn’t already hate Clemens, look it up.
This was more on the coaching
This was the year they really fell apart (and yes I know game 4 of the 1988 NLCS is where it all went downhill)
I’m a Cubs fan, but I grew up in Westchester and Fairfield counties. I loved listening to Bob Murphy’s broadcasts.
Mammoth? It barely got out.
I appear on screen at 0:09
It felt like my grandpa had died 😢
Gary was my favorite player growing up. When I was 10, I wrote him a letter and he wrote me back. It’s an indescribable feeling for a kid when your hero does something like that. Several years later I saw him inducted into Cooperstown. He passed away not too long after that. Rest in peace Gary Carter. You left the world a better place.
Man, NY was never kind to Jeremy. He started in NY, was traded his second year, had great numbers in Milwaukee, came back to NY, I was exited.. couldn’t even hit 20 HR, traded away again, then his stats went up again. Could be a combination of many things not going wright. This game can be hard to figure out. To think Mo Vaughn was also in NY on 02’ and’03 with nearly same result and never played afterwards.
They was listening and Mike gave that thumbs up to dog like “bro you ready to flame these guys?” The good ol days 🤣
1984 through 1990 were the halcyon days for Mets fans. Never to return. They had some really REALLY good teams including this 87 club. In 84 they lost a close race to the Cubs. In 85 an even closer race to the Cards. In 87 again a really close lose to the Cards. They win 100 games 88 and are probably in the World Series if not for Johnson’s decision to not have Myers start the 9th in Game 4. They lost a close division race to the Cubs in 89 and a close one to the Pirates in 90.
I still believe the Pendleton game 9th inning homer off Roger was among the worst losses in Mets history...To this day! If they win that game, the likely SWEEP the Cards without Jack Clark and reclaim 1st. As for game 4 NLCS in '88, true about Myers but when DOC walked Shelby to make Scioscia the tying run, he should have pulled doc. The '24 Mets- Dodgers NLCS brought make many memories of the '88 NLCS. Scioscia didn't hit many home runs but he did have regular season HR's against DOC. Did Davey not know this or they didn't have the stats? I liked Davey at the time, but as decades have gone by I think anyone could have won with that '86 team
"No, I'm not answering any questions about Mr. Madoff."
Jeromy Armpits
Never work with "Steinbrenner" ? I guess Darryl had to eat those words.. Steinbrenner treated Darryl like family. Brought two championships, 1996 and 1998. Was Darryl in the line up in 1999? But all in all Darryl is a great man!
Not sure what is so mammoth about it. Looks like about 425ft.
The Astrodome was the toughest park to homer in, because the ball did not carry well there.
Remember, this was one of the seasons with a "live ball". People who normally don't hit homers were banging them out of the park. '84-'85
sterling is a legend. one of the greatest of all time.
I didn't like Bobby Valentine too much. Mike and Dog were too in love with him. I woulda canned his ass too.
My Fave of all time. The Kid. ❤
NL managers had more challenges back in the days before the DH. Now Piazza would just DH.
Love these random good days!
Cliff just couldn’t stay on the field enough. When he did he was a beast
Never liked Bobby V and I could see why players didn’t either. A Leyland or Kelly would’ve been best.
Man these two morons in the booth 🙄🙄🙄
Darryl had one of the sweetest swings in baseball history. Some people are just born with a gift.
No way anyone involved in this wouldve believed that in 32 years a Japanese Man would be the Golden Prince of MLB and the highest paid athlete on the planet.
The greatest sports show in the history of the world! They made sports talk what it is! Every sports talk person owes them!!! I miss this show so much!
I met Darryl Strawberry in Binghamton last year
Bobby A-Broo
Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden are right up there with Tom Seaver as the most talented players the Mets ever had. What a shame they threw away the best years of their careers.
Um no. Not even close
Kooz?
I was there and 16 years old! Love you Gary!❤
Keith Hernandez 11 time golden glove first baseman and a true genuine leader.
My goodness! I missed this type of radio. Excellent, excellent, interview with Pedro.
The kid was my idol as a child.
mike was exactly right, he was a success in the first year
