RG Farms & Repair
США
Добавлен 1 янв 2022
I am a 5th generation farmer and have 20 plus years as a diesel technician. I have worked off farm jobs in the past but for the last couple years I am just working out of my own shop and spending the majority of my time on my farm operation. I want to share my every day life and my story of farming on my own for the last 20yrs which is pretty rare in the farm world to make that happen but it's the only way I was willing to do it. So come along and see how my operation works. You can reach me at rgfarms41@gmail.com

Enjoy the Videos and like what you are doing. Does ripper pull harder then chisel? We chisel plow, wondering if ripper is better. Good luck getting state to trim trees! I can guarantee state would notice if you removed trees. I work at School District doing Hvac, don't think there is anyone like Mrs G. You make me want a box car magnum..
Thanks for the comment 👍 the dmi ripper pulls about the same as my chisel plow because it has 5 shanks vs 9 on the chisel. It leaves the ground rougher but rips deeper and goes thru corn stalks without trash issues
Wife: how much $$$ do you think is in there Husband: ouhhhh about… $1800, mostly yard sale stuff honey ….. 😂 Nah in all seriousness brilliant set up nice tools man 🤙
Awsome seeing kit working
Awesome video! Good to see the restored equipment do some work. Just like we are back in ‘92
Thank you for watching and commenting
That’s our old chisel I’m pretty sure
Well... judging by ur screen name I would say ur correct. I bought it a year ago near rock falls illinois.
@ yes sir
Great video guys.
Thanks
Well done, Thanks 👍
Cool video. Brings back those 60's,70's and80's memories. Thanks for taking me along. Hello from Shelby N.C.
Thanks for watching
Had no idea that not only is Mrs G a dab hand in the restoration department but a tractor operator to boot. Again,,,, great work both of ye.
Great video. Would love to see the company that makes the karat 9 send you a demo unit to compare with your setup.
Great video 👍👍
I’m sorry, but who in the world would dare criticize a husband and wife team who turn out such phenomenal work, it’s pretty much art work in my opinion.
Holy dynamat! I would love to hear a before and after while engine is running. I bet it’s night and day!
I’d vote for Jack for president. Nice video ,wish I was out there.
The first 1:45 does not sound fun, nor cheap.
New Chrome Allis Chalmers door emblems and warning light overlays available, along with cab kits
Yep I already have the paint, decals and cab interior
@rgfarmsrepair503 we will have full 7000 and 8000 series repaint decals, not just the hood, also
Those hubs are bad as the IH wedge locks.
So Wyatt and Jack are y'alls' boys?
Yep Wyatt is 15 jack is 18
Is that an Allis Chalmers engine?
Yes it is
Your vintage tractors will serve you for a longtime!
Great addition RG!
That tractor is just playing with that implement!
Absolutely stunning restoration and upgrade!
Thank you for watching!
Love seeing the kit working after the repairs and work
Thanks for watching
Having no truck payment is a true blessing. With selling both of your old fords hopefully your payment free as well.
Yes luckily I have no vehicle payments and 2 nice vehicles for me and Mrs G.
@@rgfarmsrepair503 Oh man, that’s great news for sure.
Great video 👍
Great video. Those older Steiger's are my favorite tractors.
Loved it my friend. Really enjoyed the video. Hope we get to see more. Old farm boy from the 60's and 70's. Brings back memories. Please keep them coming. Thanks for letting me ride along.
Thank you very much ! I hope you enjoyed watching and I respect people like you
Excellent video working first class machinery. Big time International/Case Ih family here.
Thanks for watching and commenting
Older restored equipment for the win, every single time.
Lots of slicing, dicing and mixing going on back there looks like a great piece of equipment! Enjoyed it!
Thank you
Like the old iron tillage videos
Great tractor info
RG Farm & Repair. .Are you south or north of 80 ,east of the river and west of Windy City (Chicago) some run old equipment & some new . I am clueless to know why it was a soft-spoken video with good information. Keep up good Work.
I am north of 80 along the rt39 corridor. Thanks for watching
Great video 👍 In soybeans you had one field that you no tilled . You were going to compare results with the tilled. Can't remember if you put that out? Thanks again for your time 👍👍
Yeah it was 12bu/ac better on avg across the scale. Yikes $120/ac difference
I like the fact that you keep the old iron running and you are right about the price of new equipment, how can the little guy afford to run it.
It's refreshing to see the older equipment refreshed and sent back out to do the job the new ones do. Without the emissions crap! Keep them going 👍👍
Bingo. Even the bigger guys should probably be refurbishing and running older equipment longer.
Thanks for the comment.
Nice video. I like you go over the specs of the machines you are running and that you have drone footage as well. If you can, consider mixing in cab footage with drone footage in smaller intervals, rather than just two distinct blocks.
Believe it or not none of it was a drone. When my helper showed up to switch with me I just rode my utv next to it to do outside video. Thanks for watching
Be awesome to get your allis out
I would love too but it's torn apart and not field ready. This winter will be the restoration series on it.
$11,699 for the ICON big brother and $6,100 for the Series 3, a difference of $5,599. That will buy a lot of ICON tools.
Yes it will! Honestly it's not any snapon box like I was used to but I love it zero complaints. Thanks for the comment 👍
My neighbor in Live Oak, Fl. had an AC dealership. I was a young Adult Organic Gardener at the time and would go to his place an drool over his equipment. He had a working farm and some of his land adjoined mine, I used to watch his man work the land with this exact machine. I have an AC 314 Garden Tractor that I have restored to use on my place. It has a 48 inch Deck that I mow with,,, AC made awesome equipment. It’s too bad they are no longer in business… I’ll take Orange over Green any day… MWP Cosby, Tn,
Thanks for the comment 👍 the 1st tractor I purchased in late 90s was a 7030 allis and I have always loved them. Stay tuned this winter I'm going to fully restore the allis 8550 beast that I bought last spring
How much money in new parts did you spend?
I haven't added it all up but since there wasn't any major mechanical issues I would say around $10k in parts and materials maybe a touch over that.
@@rgfarmsrepair503 Thanks, I just discovered your channel a couple days ago and am enjoying it a lot. I have watched numerous videos of yours already and am giving you many likes.
Where did you find your lady? Is there anymore where she came from? What a find.
She is definitely a keeper for sure.
So did it make it the last two carts?
Lol yeah just sounded like a steel drum band towards the end. All good I already got it fixed.
Amazing workmanship, really enjoyed the series.
Thank you very much
Glad for ye that the yields are good and that ye have a reliable grain cart operator. Well done both of ye. Good equipment that's well prepared has paid off big time also.
Great video 👍
Can you do a update tour of your truck and the tools that you keep on it
My truck is a straight up disaster poor thing has been to war this fall. How about I do a video on it before next spring when it's actually organized. Thanks for watching
@@rgfarmsrepair503 that sounds good no problem love your videos
I know you greased it but, did you spray for grease worms?😂 I have the same luck it seems with borrowing anything.🤷♂️ Glad you're about finished. It's been a harvest like no other here in NE Kansas as well. No rain delays and just hammer down the whole time. Most everyone around here should be done sometime next week.
Thanks for watching. Yeah I've never had a fall straight thru with no rain delays. Kinda feel like a zombie at this point Glad you are having a good harvest
Great video. Old farm boy myself. Had a dairy farm back in the 60's and 70's. Milked 150 every morning at 3:30 and every afternoon at 3:30. I do not miss those days. Hated it. Loved the farming but not milking. Loved the tractors and especially silage cutting. The rest sucked. Thanks for taking me along.
Thanks for the comment. Yeah the older I'm getting the less fun it is doing it with very limited help. I love farming just don't like the anxiety level of markets inputs and weather problems.
Great to see the good yields and very few breakdowns, can't get any better than that! Hopefully prices will come back. Oh yea about that auger!!!!!
Thanks for the comment 👍
Great job my friend keep up the good work 💯 and you need a extended pipe
