Small Christmas Star DIY - easy build
Просмотров 4902 года назад
Hi Friends! Some of you have asked how to make the small star shown in an earlier video. Here's how to do it. Sorry for the crappy audio in the first scene. I shoot with what I have and what I have has a crappy microphone. This video is short and fast-paced as I’ve gotten to dislike videos that waste time. I’m grateful to the viewers of my humble videos. Hand-feeding friendly Pine Siskins

We have an irruption of Pine Sikins at the feeders. Normally every winter we have a few, but this time we have a few hundred. Here is one eating out of my hand. They do not seem to be afraid. There is something magical when one alights, looks you in the eye, and then starts eating. I wish everyone could experience it. In this video the rain has just ended. You can hear the water dripping in the...

If you don't care about rotating anf just want hanging targets, you could just start with an empty milk crate or even a cardboard box laying on it's side, open face towards you. Then take any size target out of wood or snipped tin, drill 2 holes on top side by side and hang that target on the top of the open hole by 2 strings... Voila, your targets will face forward always because of the 2 strings. You could do the same with a tin can.

Great idea. We are trying to come up with a solution so the crows can eat and the cats can’t sneak up on them. Can’t wait to build a feeder like this one! But we don’t use kill traps for mice or rats, we use non-lethal traps that are cheap and work every time. We just take them to the edge of the woods and let them go. Of course mouse-proofing is a better idea since they’re food-driven. They make metal cans with lids to hold bags of bird food, and mice can’t access them.

Hello from Eastern Washington State! I'm planning to build the 10-foot star for Christmas this year. Anyone have an idea on what the exact length of rope light would be? I found a place that sells custom cut rope light. I'm estimating about 32-feet, but I'm terrible at math. If I don't get a response from anyone, Plan-B is to build it, measure it and then order the proper length. Thanks in advance!

To compute hole locations for any length of conduit: - first, mark locations for the 2 end holes - measure distance ("X") between these two locations - for distance from each end mark to its respective inner mark: multiply "X" by 0.382 (round to nearest 1/16" I'm guessing) (0.382 = sin(18deg)/sin(54deg) for you engineer types :) That's it! so for the 10' star example: distance between endpoints: 115.25" - 0.75" = 114.5" distance between each endpoint and its respective inner point: 114.5" x 0.382 = 43.739" (round to 43.75") so, measuring from left to right: mark 1 = 0.75" mark 2 = 0.75 + 43.75 = 44.5" mark 3 = 115.25 - 43.75 = 71.5" mark 4 = 115.25"
