    Anyone who puts horror over Deadpool and Wolverine is asking not to be taken seriously. And of all the things you could comment on “Soulless”?! Really? That movie has more soul than any other movie that came out this summer by far. I’m not some Deadpool Stan but you gota put more respect on his name

    Hot take. Unless you have played at least one game, shut the fuck up about the movie, I at least have played mario games, so I understand the adaptation, while I did not like both the mario movie or borderlands one, I would still look at them as adaptations so If you say it's bad, make sure you have played the games and seen the movie

    • @floopsfooglie213
      @floopsfooglie213 22 дня назад

      No an adaption has to be able to stand but itself. Video games aren’t a thing everybody has access to, much less a series of games that came out two console generations ago that also has many games which aren’t all the same kind of game. It makes absolutely no sense from a financial standpoint to spend the millions it needs to make a movie for it to only be enjoyed by a specific group of people. That’s how studios go bankrupt. A bad movie is a bad movie, no video game or original source material can change that. Let alone the fact that a movie adaption, which is something that the vast majority of people can actually see, is something that needs to have things that brings new people into the IP. Look at the MCU, those movies literally shaped the comics they were based on bc of the amount of people that became new fans of them BECAUSE of the movies. What is this take?

    • @BOXMANISHEAR
      @BOXMANISHEAR 22 дня назад

      @@floopsfooglie213 I get what your saying, but we still have to seen it as a adaptation, as we see other adaptations, we have to look at it on all fronts, but to fully understand the movie as a adaptation and a stand alone film you have to have played the games

    • @BOXMANISHEAR
      @BOXMANISHEAR 22 дня назад

      And the origin point probably was to get more people to play the game, now I still think others should watch the movie, but if your a critic or some one who judges movies, get some who has played the games to help understand

    • @floopsfooglie213
      @floopsfooglie213 22 дня назад

      @@BOXMANISHEAR you’d think that’s the way to do it, but that’s a narrow point of view. “Seeing it on all fronts” means judging it as its own thing. It being an adaption means nothing at all. You don’t need to read the books to watch Twilight or play the game to watch The Last of Us. If a movie needs people to play the games to get it: it’s a bad movie. You’re confusing “adaption” with “continuation.”

    • @floopsfooglie213
      @floopsfooglie213 22 дня назад

      @@BOXMANISHEAR there is nothing to understand when adapting. Again. If the movie requires you to go back and see the source material to “understand” then it isn’t a good movie. It isn’t well written. Doing that is called being a cheap marketing hack. A movie is a movie, a game is a game and a book is a book.

Definitely gets very messy and has an undercooked conclusion, but watching Josh Harnett in this role was too addicting. Great review, dude!

    I had a lot of fun with this movie! Some story struggles and plot issues for sure but the chemistry between Ryan and Hugh soared and the characters of Deadpool and Wolverine as this odd couple through this multiversal adventure was what made this movie worked. I don’t think it saved the MCU, but it put a nice button on the end of the Fox Marvel franchise while being hilarious and 100% authentically Deadpool. Great review!

    I'm about your age and I've also wondered why horror movies 10-15 years ago affected me so much more than they do now. Is it that movies aren't as scary now? Or is that we develop a tolerance to being scared with each additional horror movie we watch? I think it's most likely the latter, as you can't argue that the 'The Witch' and 'Hereditary', among others, aren't up there with the best of the 90s and early 2000s.
