A 1 hour of this is required urgently. Alsa the other versions on youtube have horrible quality, this one is much much better.
This is really sad music and reflects the atmosphere of the period well.
I mean it's a beautiful music but the medieval ages is just a time period like any other can be happy or sad
@@Leorics-mf2jz If we examine the period, I think that while Islamic geography was experiencing its golden age, Europe was under the influence of scholastic thought and pressure groups, and therefore it was a sad period for Europe.

I like how they tried to portray France (and Europe in general) as being a barren, grey and bleak backward place when 12th century France was the most powerful state in Western Europe at the time, art and culture was booming

Medieval Europe in 1184 was in no way a dark and grim place, art, culture and architecture was booming, it was only grim if you were a peasant/serf

Me too, I like it very much to listen on nomad steppes in winter. It reminds medieval Europe from Andalusia to Anatolia, from France to Cyprus. I think this song has medieval warrior spirit with some religious or holy folk elements, but it’s just my humble opinion. Kazakistannan selamlar!

@@Justin-hs2kf Allegedly he was originally supposed to do more or all of the soundtrack. Then for some reason he abandoned ship and worked on the Madagascar Score instead.... So this is all that is left from his involvement. Bizarre, but seems to be true.
@@saint8228 Harry Gregson-Williams was the author of this soundtrack. I'm trying to find this song in some album or soundtrack without success. Any help will be welcome.
@@davidcuenca3049 even though Williams did the soundtrack in the end, Hans Zimmer did indeed do this one song. He was supposed to do the whole soundtrack before they switched to Williams for a.reason I could not find out. Zimmer called it "France 1186", appropriately so. (Even though the opening credits say 1184, the song is 1186. Odd but true. The only way I was able to get it is by using a program and convert a RUclips video of the song to an MP3. It works quite well if you haven't tried it! Or if you want, shoot me a message and I can just send you the MP3 I made of it.
