I live 10 min walk from the flat where Joe Meek ran his studio. There's a bench on pavement outside with a small plaque & another plaque high above the shop. So high you wouldn't notice if you didn't know to look for it. Same with writer Joe Orton, who met tragic fate in his flat not too far from Holloway Rd. Plaque so high as to be almost wasted effort. Sad. They were both so influential.

The dude was doing a Houdini escape, he was tied by the feet to a rope , 8 feet off the ground and the rope was on fire. Amanda though that the fire was to burn him alive as danger factor, but the real danger is that the fire would cut the rope and he would have fallen to the ground dying in the process.
