The Western Landowners Alliance was founded by landowners in 2012 to ensure the well-being of working lands in the American West and the living communities that depend on them, including both people and wildlife. Our mission is to advance policies and practices that sustain working lands, connected landscapes and native species. We envision a future in which western lands remain whole and healthy, providing for quality livelihoods on family farms and ranches, strong communities, thriving wildlife populations, and vital natural resources.
We provide a voice for land stewards in the West, including through our award-winning Stewardship with Vision video series which forms the cornerstone of our RUclips Channel.

Refreshing and heartening to see and hear of someone who’s guiding principles are not based solely on financial gain. Thank you Betty Shahan and neighbors for your stewardship that benefits all.
I wouldn’t take care of any parcel I owned. Sadly Texas is being overrun with developments and people and anywhere you can put a house up. Topography is being altered all in the name of progress. Now there’s droughts, tornadoes, heavy flooding.
Thank you Betty, Jerry, Monique and all the other conscientious folks working diligently to preserve this treasured area.
