For me i just dont understand how people have the energy to have friendship at the same level as a romantic partner. Like i talk to my boyfriend every single day both on the phone and over text and we often hang out multiple times a week and like thats tiring enough energy wise :') If i had even one friend who i had a phone call with every single day and hung out with multiple times a week i would not have any time left in the day and i would just be utterly exhausted :')

It’s all about balance.. it’s not easy, but if your friends are important to you, you will figure out a way to make time for them just like you take time for your relationship with your bf. One of my closest friends is married & currently in school studying to be a doctor. She stills makes the time to build with her friends. I’m cool with us not talking/hanging out everyday cuz we are busy but making that time once a month/ every 2 weeks is important.

most of my friendships involve hanging out maybe once or twice a year. I pretend to be cool with that but in all honesty, I like friendships where we can talk to each other more and maybe even hang out every month or every other. When it's a give and take friendship and not just me always initiating the gathering. (half of the time the friends are unfortunately busy, which I understand and respect but there's never any contact afterwards so it just feels like all my friendships will fall if I don't constantly do something about it) So I guess I've learned to adjust to being a low maintenance friend tho seeing this video, I appreciate there's validity in wanting more and hoping I can make more friends who may feel the same way.

I don't need my friend to give me the same amount of attention they'd give their husband or person they're dating. Like, we're friends, we are not going to become as one flesh, like you do with a spouse, according to the Bible. Sorry I'm happy with low maintenance friends. All these high maintenance friendships feel like people are trying to fill a gap in their life with friendship, when it shoulda been filled with other things. and it causes this unhealthy high need for attention from other people

I think it depends. I'm definitely an inbetween and I think the balance is needed. I think when it comes to high maintenence, you have to give that to someone who deserves that because there is a bit of catering and self sacrifce involved. I think being dependable and reliable in friendships is a different conversation from high maintence and low maintenence. Being dependable and reliable are just attributes of being a good person which someone can be in both high and low maintenance friendships. Lastly, romantic relationships and friends while similar are not the same, especially when it comes to expectations. I need my mate to be a good friend, but I don't need my friend to be a good mate. So there are some differences with that. I think you can want similar intimacy in both instances, but the expectations are different. Overall excellet video. ❤

Great review. I wanted to respond to the question “Is all black art inherently political?” Unfortunately, I think yes. All art pulls from life’s experiences… and here in America, no matter what you’re writing about, the governmental systems influence a person’s viewpoint, regardless of what you’re writing about, even if your intent is not to reflect a political idea. This is what makes black art so unique… show the black experience, and lines can be drawn to political systems that created/influenced that experience. Same can be said about any race… which is why white art doesn’t have many oppressive undertones. They are free to move about however they see fit most times. It’s an interesting conversation tho.

I love how kind and gentle you are, without saying that anyone is downright "wrong" or give the impression others are bad people, your attitude is really a refreshing sight on such a mean and judgemental and harsh landscape! As your channel grows please never lose your kindness and gentle tone of conversation! I'd love to see more :) I'm subbing, keep it up!!
