THANK YOU! 3rd week white belt here and all the blue belts just sit in a meditation position for me. This is so helpful even a few years later.
3:09 That was cool
@@PauIdenino thanks man! Picked it up from Ryan Hall back in the day
Congratulations! This sub always reminds me of minotauro from back in Pride 🎉
yeah it really does! The OG anaconda king
Could you do a video on the combination/dilemma of the backside and rolling darce? I’ve been showing people what I’ve learned from your videos, but a reference video would be super helpful on the topic.
When you say backside, do you mean the one from side control where their near arm is up on your hip? If I'm still not getting it, reach out to me on Instagram and I'll try and talk through it until I understand exactly what you mean. Super happy to make a video on anything you like, though. Appreciate the support!
@@DrewDarce yes! I think that’s the one. The one where, from that position, you backup with your booty and fall into the Darce.
@@eb_bjj agh okay! Yerah I'll film something on it for you as soon as I can. If you don't see it posted in a week, ping me and I'll remember. I'm super slammed busy this month. :)
Incredible stuff!
don't mind if I do thanks!
Dude this is cool!
@@insidebjj not as cool as you, though 🔥👊🏼
4:08 this backside and rolling darce is such a great technique pair!
2:05 - 2:40 darce to crucifix to triangle, what a sequence!
I learnt alot of matches from Tameem Hamoui and Baret Yoshida, their highground to crucifix just awesome
Love these details will try them this week
@@flamigon hope they work well!
I've been hitting this a lot since I adopted Craig's Power Bottom style of game
I've been hitting this heaps since i started working Craig's Power Bottom style game
Thanks alot Drew❤❤❤❤❤
Sick! 😮
@@gilalcocer5553 thx brah! Posting one of our vids tomorrow 👊🏼🤙🏼
Sick! Dope name too 🤙🏼
Looks awesome. Love them crucifix entries 🔥
You're a great instructor Drew! You break things down so well...tons of details but delivered in such a digestible way. enjoyed your Darce instructional and I'm looking forward to this.
@@shanereilly4896 thanks a ton man!!

i find trying to pass false reap/this type of aggressive butterfly half threatening false reap, to be one of the hardest types of guard passing, despite watching jason raus instructional on how to defend it
The BJJ Holy Grail for People with long limbs
Go watch Jason rau to see where Jozef got this from.
I’ve been playing false reap in the last fortnight with some success. Taylor Pearman is a great guy to analyse The false reap seems to unify the shin to shin (to Ashi) and the k guard entry systems
@@FourPointsBJJ I gotta start watching more of Taylor’s stuff
Why do you think the outside heel hook has come back in fashion? Just because of the aoki/shotgun lock?
I think so, yeah, and a few others reasons: 1. People have gotten so good at defending the inside heel hook. 2. Outside leg positions are *generally* easier to get to than inside positions. 3. Like you said, the Aoki/ankle lock has a synergistic effect with the outside heel hook and they boost each other. 4. Finishing mechanics have gotten super good on the inside. Guys like Jason Rau, Rob Degle, Sean Applegate, and Kevin Beuhring have really helped sharpen mine. All their stuff is awesome.
@@DrewDarce I bought Sean Applegates outside heel hook instructional a couple years ago. It's been one of my favorites
2:42 - 3:08 is an insane sequence. Would love to see a video breakdown of it and whatever else you have on the crucifix.
@@eb_bjj I can do that!
Super excited to see your upcoming content!
@@eb_bjj appreciate you !! 👊🏼
Nice wrestling
@@bobbyjones3869 thank you!
That entry from butterfly is so nice
@@forwardgrappling thanks! There’s a lot of great choke setups off that overhook butterfly play
@@DrewDarce will try it tomorrow!!

2:50 🤯 that was slick
Thank you!!
You think arm length is a big factor for the anaconda?
Probably the smallest factor of all the head and arm chokes since you can pin them in place, and really use your legs to trap their arm and deepen the grip. Once you get good at trapping their arm with your legs, even if your arms are super short you can still get the grip plenty deep. Check out Lachlan Giles and Nicky Ryan anaconda stuff. They have shorter arms for their weight classes and have killer anaconda games. :)
@@DrewDarce Thanks, Its funny, Ive always liked the darce and barely used the anaconda.Ill do the rafa mendes roll and come up with the darce, but ive been forcing myself to try to anaconda and I realise you can really shove his elbow down, and it like you said, arm length becomes less a factor.
@@channel19549 I was 100% same as you until just a couple years ago. I used to always use the Rafa Mendes style anaconda entry just to switch darce because I couldn’t get the finish to work for me. But my homie Matt Skaff at 10p Decatur showed me a lot of anaconda gems and I was able to start finishing it way more. I used to get super frustrated by anacondas and now I like them a lot.
@@DrewDarce Thanks, im gonna work on it.Sometimes tho I feel like my arms arent long enough.I have a 72.5-73ish inch reach, but i have big shoulders/back so i wonder if that's making up most of my reach.Any thoughts?
Loved the Darce Instructional, you break things down so well. When is the anaconda one coming out?
Love that you enjoyed it! I want to have the new one out by July 21st. It's all done, edited, and on Kajabi ready to publish. I just want to get a trailer out there and market this one a little better the first couple weeks of July, and then it'll be out there. I really think I overcooked the dish on the darce instructional, and this one is a little more straightforward, and it meanders a bit less. I'm very curious to see which one people prefer, and I'll definitely have some kind of code where if you bought the darce one, this one will have a significant discount. Appreciate the support, and let me know if I can ever help with anything :)
Looking forward to this. Did you ever check out Rafa Mendes anaconda instructional? Interested to hear your opinion on it if you have watched it
@@tomlangham5358 I’ve watched it and it’s awesome. I think he’s the anaconda goat for sure. I watched his vids on it over the years and the course seems even improved and expanded. Seems like he’s never stopped learning it even better every year. It’s a fairly pricey course, though. Bit it’s excellent
@@DrewDarce awesome yeah he's defo the anaconda goat, just wondered how well he could teach it. Lachlan's got some good anaconda videos on his site. I'll make sure to check out your instructional when its out 👍
@@tomlangham5358 Yeah, Lachlan's stuff is fire too! Thanks for the support!
Nice content. Ps why you often do it in regular clothes and watch ;)?
Haha was just filming after class. Sometimes I’m about to leave and think of something last minute. The watch is a Woop strap. I stopped the subscription, but it’s really helpful for monitoring your heart rate, how many calories you’re burning when rolling, sleep habits, etc. :)
Hell yes
This is actually brilliant. Thanks man.
Doing an anaconda instructional?
I've been trying to find a video on this and its so hard to find, and this gem pops up on my feed 🎉
“Sometimes, ‘perfect’ can get in the way of ‘good enough.’” 🤯📝
Wish I could take credit for that. Don't remember where I heard it, but I think of that a lot
Great video! Thanks for the advice.
Thank you so much!
Nice, subbed.
Appreciate you!
I just love a channel that dedicates to one technique ❤
Very smooth rolling!
Thx so much!
Nice details!
thank you!!
I've heard it called "Philly Saddle" by a few ppl. I think the Miyaos call it that as well. I really like this position in the gi because you kinda force your opponent to almost DQ themselves under IBJJF rules while you can attack the ankle lock or toe hold.
Nice! I've never really thought to mess with it in the gi, but I'll give it a shot on Monday. Thank you!
Islam just hit a darce against a Poirier's 4 point.
Nice break down, subbed
Thank you so much!
Here after UFC 302 did Islam submitted Poirier with a power d’arce or a modified Japanese necktie ?
it was a darce that is commonly called a 'shallow darce' or a 'short arm darce'. Rener Gracie actually has some really good free vids about it on RUclips
Whatever happened to John calestine ?? dude was legit
Game changer! The analogy to body triangle is crystal clear. Gonna finally start having a real darce threat.
Hope it helps!!
