Timber/Killick Hitches - Jostle Rope with Jolly Roger
Просмотров 1323 месяца назад
In this video, I demonstrate both the timber hitch, as well as the Killick hitch. I have seen many videos showing the timber hitch and it's variants, but not many people actually show it in use, and I wanted to share how I use it in an everyday application. The timber hitch is great because it doesn't bind or jam even under a large load. It is easy to tie, and has many uses and practical applic...
Double Pile Hitch - Jostle Rope with Jolly Roger
Просмотров 2253 месяца назад
In this video I demonstrate how to tie both the single pile hitch, as well as the double pile hitch. This is a great knot if you want to tie something in a rush and need it to hold a lot of weight securely, but don't want to have a lot of fuss when untying later. Used often when tying a vessel down for a short stay, its obvious benefits are speed when an exposed end of a post, pole, or piling i...
My Review of the Light Bio Glow-in-the-Dark Petunias after One Month

This video is a short review of the magical plant that glows in the dark! We've owned these for a little over a month and were on the pre-order list. These petunias are from Light Bio and from this short period of owning them, I would definitely get more plants from them! How I Replaced a Sillcock on my House
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.3 месяца назад
This video shows me stumbling through the simple process of how to replace a hose bib (also called an outdoor faucet, or Sillcock). I am not a professional, so do make sure you properly research what you'll need for your own install. I am simply documenting my own DIY experience. I will link the types of tools and parts I used below. • SharkBite 12 Inch Frost Free Sillcock a.co/d/6eceH0j • Shar...
Sailor's Hitch - Jostle Rope with Jolly Roger
Просмотров 6433 месяца назад
In this video I demonstrate a sailor's hitch knot. This is a non-jamming knot that is unlikely to bind when under hard load and has been used for countless years in marine industries and applications. This can be a good alternative to other hitches or knots if you need a one that you know will be put under a hard load or pull, and need to be able to undo later. Remember to keep practicing being...
Constrictor Knot - Jostle Ropes with Jolly Roger
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.3 месяца назад
In this video, watch and learn how to tie the constrictor knot. It is a type of binding hitch/knot that securely grips it's post tightly and doesn't allow for slippage that you might get using a simpler knot (example: clove hitch). Be weary, as this knot can become impossible to untie if it is heavily loaded, although that's a fine price to pay for a strong holding knot. Remember to keep practi...
Highwayman's Hitch - Jostle Rope with Jolly Roger
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.4 месяца назад
In this video I share a family favorite knot, the Highwayman's Hitch! This is a quick release knot that is unique because when you pull the tag end, all the rope is released on your side of the post, meaning you can make for a quick getaway. Other types of quick release often leave you with one last turn (or two!) that causes you to spend an extra second fiddling with the rope, which leaves jus...
Mooring Hitch - Jostle Rope with Jolly Roger
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.4 месяца назад
In this video, I demonstrate how to call a knot the wrong name multiple times, as well as how to tie it. Follow along, as the mooring hitch can be very simple to learn, and useful for tying up your kayak, Jon boat or other vessel, or even your dog's lead. Have any recommendations or knot requests? Let me know, I'll look into it if I can! Leave a comment and like and come back for the next video...
Butterfly Knot - Jostle Rope with Jolly Roger
Просмотров 9 тыс.4 месяца назад
In this video I demonstrate how to tie a midline variation of the Butterfly Knot. It is used in climbing, camping, and various other situations. It is a knot that can be heavily loaded but still be untied rather easily. You can also use it to isolate a damaged part of your rope to the loop side, so that you can still use the rope safely. Have fun and keep practicing! #rope #knot #alpinebutterfly

Should I get the full game when it's released? Leave a comment so I know what you think! Also, let me know what video you would like to see next!
Timber hitch is great when cutting branches to lower down. Easy to untie and sturdy. Good work.
Great job, my man, and awesome tatt!
@@jimb8738 Thank you, hose is still working great everyday in the garden! And thanks about the ink, hopefully I'll be adding more to it!
@@JollyRogerHobbies I need to replace 2 on my house soon... or at least, I'm hoping just the stems. I'm not too fond of the idea of crawling in that crawlspace and having a spider drop down on my neck! Lol What, exactly, is the tatt? A Nordic design, or some other tribal one?
@@jimb8738 Yes something like that, it's actually Filipino traditional tattoo, done in Toronto by a Filipino-Canadian artist! Hopefully your house repair is easy to access for your hose replacements too.
@@JollyRogerHobbies My crawlspace is foamed, so I'd need to break the foam away from the outgoing pipes. After removing the stems I discovered a damaged oring and a plastic gasket in one near the handle. So I'm thinking I can just replace the stem in one (because that plastic piece I can't find in any kit by the company), and change out the orings in the other. So are you Filipino or partial?
Nice work!
@@chanceavery6879 Thank you for your kind words stranger!
Wow very good job l try to do it my car tomorrow thanks bro
you can hybridize with Fabiana imbricata (has like 1 flower for every branch) ang grow fast like trees and would glow like crazy if the descendants carry the gene, not for commercial purposes OFC, but they are from a big family that naturally hybridize with petunias
Wow that is really interesting! I will look into that because I know nothing about it, thank you
Where is the coolant removal? You should drain the coolant for us, brother
Loving your knotwork.
Thank you, I'll try to share more in the future!
@@JollyRogerHobbies I learn by repetition so it's a great visual aid into the skill of knotting.
Can I ask when you ordered them? I went on their website and it says pre-order for spring 2024 shipping but it’s already summer so not sure if I should order
I believe these were ordered in either March or April of 2024, but I cannot remember exactly.
For what it basicly used?
Great question! It's often seen in climbing applications both recreational or professional, for example it is used to clip a climbing harness into a carabiner, or can be used to isolate a worn section of rope within the loop so that the worn section does not receive tension. Some camera will use it on ridgelines as attachment points for tents or tools.
This is an excellent hitch, strong, simple to tie, yet so easy to release. Perfect! Thank you.
Hope you can use it! Thank you!
Yes, that's a good replacement of the clove hitch. Thank you.
Thanks! Hope you can make use of it!
wow so cool i need these!! 🤩
You will love these! The video does not do them justice, they are quite beautiful.
Also the Alpine butterfly loop. As you said many ways to tie.
💯 You are absolutely correct! Alpine butterfly loop is probably it's most well-known name!
@@JollyRogerHobbies also can be tied as a bend, joining two ropes, although I never mastered that one
So this highwayman is using a knot he can quickly release, then plodding off on a donkey?
Donkey is the first idea that comes to mind! Whatever works in a pinch! Definitely can use other mounts, such as camel or caribou.
Haha wise guy.
So you're saying I should not be using this knot to tie my shoe laces? :D
It might help keep your shoe from falling off! 😂👟
I think I do accidentally use it to tie my laces sometimes.
As far as I checked, under a bigger load this know is getting tight as hell. Do you know any which are easy to untie after heavy loading?
Maybe try the sailor's hitch! It should not bind or jam like other knots and hitches. Here's a link to my recent video of that knot! Thanks for watching, best of luck. ruclips.net/video/-IAYSU_W4Fc/видео.htmlsi=yd5ZjYYuj4XenEyD
Thanks for the tip.
No problem! Happy to help.
Thank you. Knowledge acquired and will put in practice in favour of a clove hitch which has always been my go to, despite being disappointed by its performance over time.
The boom hitch is definitely worth a try if you want an improvement from the clove hitch! Thanks for watching! I'll try to upload other options in the future too.
Super ❤❤
Thank you! Hope it is helpful and best of luck! 🍀
Thats not going annywhere! Great explanation!
Thank you!!! 😊
Use Canadian jam knot. Takes less time and uses less line.
triple overhand stopper knot
You're absolutely correct ✅
I learned this when working on a shrimp boat. They called it a bowline, like the bow of a boat.
Yes, I believe you are correct in it's origin and probably the original pronunciation of the bowline knot or bowline loop, definitely come from a Boat terminology (bow line knot, halyard knot).
Try it and let me know how it goes! ❤
Ohhh that looks delicious, I am going to attempt to recreate this!
Hell yeah! 🎉 catch them fish boy
I'll try my best ❤️
Hmmm. Pre-pickles you say? Might have to give ‘em a shot.
Please do and let me know what you think 😋🥒
Promo-SM 😢
A pickle is when you soak a cucumber in vinegar. So yes. Pre pickle, or cucumber
💯 Facts! 🥒
Just…no 😂
💯 YESSsss
Are those cucumbers?.
Yes! Some people call them that! 🎉 Pre-pickles is a funnier name 😂 💀
Some people call them "Cucumbers", but whatever you call them, give 'em a try next time as a healthy alternative! This is on an Impossible Burger (vegetarian)!
nice video! Do you recommend changing the waterpump before it breaks? At a certain milage maybe?
Thanks for watching! I believe the recommended mileage to change the water pump on a Prius is around 60-100k miles. But I've heard some go beyond 200k, and some at 40k. I would say if the car is not exhibiting any problems, keep going on it. But if you already have high mileage and you're already doing a service on something else (alternator/fan/plugs/AC/etc) then it's a great time to do it then. Knock out two birds with one stone mantra.
Your check engine light is still on.
Ok 238000 miles is that the factory water pump
This is not the factory water pump. I've done this change once before, but I don't remember the exact mileage. The factory Toyota pump was made by Aisin, which I also used.
Good job what’s the mileage

wowwww and instantly I was amazed by this video
😂 I know it's not the best video, but I'm hoping to get better eventually
