I have a 3 blade deck with a v twin motor on it and its awesome ! Also I put swivel wheels on the front to help with tight turns . Pulled with a 200 es honda :)
@@omnirogue1 that's awesome! With the wagon hitch I used, it turns in the same radius as my 200e (ducky) but I'm going to keep my eyes peeled at the junkyard for swivel and bigger wheels.
Thanks for the light-hearted education!!
@@user-oe8gj7fz6v your welcome, thanks for watching!
Sorry for the camera issues towards the end. It decided to cease to exist 😂
Shorter belt stronger spring
It seemed like the belt shook the most at the engine, like maybe a slightly bent crankshaft 🇱🇷🤔
That was my thought too, or the guy who welded up the drive pulley didn't get it centered 😂 or I need the tensioner on that side of the belt.
Getcha some pulley guards, and the belt shouldn't pop as much. Had to do that to the second hand Troy Bilt I just bought.
Great idea, plus the belt won't fall off when it goes slack.
That's a lot of drag against that little engine trying to start it
I've seen that carburetor sell for 150/250 bucks
Wow I didn't realize how much they were, the funny thing is that wasn't the problem.
@@KixBryant obviously not, so this guy was just covering the cost of that carb, basically you got the rest for hauling it off. Yah those 2 barrel carbs are expensive....3X the cost of the singles
Wow I guess so!
Thought I saw a little poof of smoke....nice find tho. Run it
Yeah, it was running on 1 cylinder the other had no pushrod 😂 we fix it in the next video.
@@KixBryant that's a bit odd....they didn't fall down inside of the block?
I show it in the video when I remove the valve cover, it's just sitting there. But I couldn't find the broken piece and I even cut the oil filter and find no shavings?
@@KixBryant if they went inside...the cam should have been trashed...doesn't make sense for those to be missing....I'm scratching both ends now
Yeah I was perplexed too. But it was the intake pushrod which is aluminum, I think maybe the cleaned it out changed the oil and filter and gave up?
Looks like an MTD deck
I'm pretty sure it's an mtd deck, I bought a 70's Case IH deck and he threw in a John Deere L120 tractor and the mtd deck. By threw in I mean I had to take it all 😂
@@KixBryant THAT'S WHY WE GET AN OVERLOAD IF PARTS. I have a farmer, that I helped a few years back....he came in one day and dropped off 3"dead" mowers. sold 1 for parts, basically sold him the 17.5 hp Briggs IF he took what was left of the carcass with him
That how it happened to me, $150 but I had to take it all. I was going to scrap the John Deere but thought I'd do a video on getting it running where it sat for years and I got it to run and drive to the truck. I have a playlist on my channel on it.
@@KixBryant I'll have to look that up. Baught a 112...cause the guy said he couldn't make it run. Rebuilt the ignition system, fuel system....it a Long Life cast iron 10 hp Tecumseh.....needs a governor. No surprise there
I wish my L120 had a Tecumseh it has a Briggs 20 HP twin, they put a new carb on it and it fouled out plugs so they gave up and parked it.
I've built these....just to get rid of an excess of parts. 1 had an electric clutch, the others were lever&spring. SOMEONE ALWAYS offers me money for something I didn't build to sell
That's pretty much what I'm doing. Plus I have trails to mow that are hard on lawnmowers.
Terrible idea buddy. Starting it is too dangerous, blades rubbing, need a blade engage and a remote electric starter for starters.
😂
You need to put a engage and disengage on the tensioner and alao you need to brace the motor better to the deck. A little dangerous cause mower deck jumps there so caution there...
I agree, I didn't realize how much the motor flexed until I was editing the video. It looks like the entire front of the deck is flexing, so I'll try and brace it to the back. 😁
I’m enjoying this build. God bless you brother.
I'm glad. Thanks!
You need to make a engage and disengage to give the engine a chance ..I believe
It doesn't mow in reverse, it mows while in "front wheel drive" 😉😉
Yes! I love seeing the progress and how well this thing is turning out! I double checked your math and it turns out I can't math 😆
😂 plus it is Weezer math!
Chopping block, shoot at the hip 😂
Lol
We got one of these L120s for free this year with only 50 hours on it. Been chasing an intermittent miss on the briggs motor and had to completely rebuild the deck, but she mows! Be careful with hills, as the K46 transaxle is light duty and can overheat if you push it hard. I plan to build an oil cooler for the transaxle on mine.
Wow! Free and only 50hrs. You scored! 😁
@@KixBryant We lucked out on the hours, but it sat in a field for YEARS so it's pretty faded and sun baked, seat was trashed etc.
Sounds just like mine! 😁
I wouldn't name anything the same as a Pontiac. You saw what happened to them 😬..😆
😂
It's to late, I already wrote it in the dirt on the push mower.... That's pretty much permanent. 😂
Just made a heavy duty mounting plate for my new 12,000lbs winch, from my pile. It's not garbage nor scrap, it's perfectly good material!
Good material that's already paid for. That's a win win situation 😁
I HAD A JOHN DEERE THAT BASICALLY DID THE SAME THING. HOW I FINALLY FIXED MINE WAS I TOOK THE AIR FILTER OUT AND PUT A CUB CADET ZT1 50 UNDER IT AND I HAVEN'T HAD A SINGLE PROBLEM SINCE
😂 I'll have to keep my eyes out for a cub cadet 😂
don't expect much from a john deere
😂 I've definitely loaded the parts cannon for this one! 😂
Mmmmmmm It Don't got no gas init. Mmmmhmmmm.
Won’t mow bc it’s a John gay
😂
John deere mowers are just bad in general
Yeah, I picked this up for scrap price and have been fixing everything broken on it... It's been a lot 😂
Thanks for the tip on drilling a hole in the end of the crack! Brilliant!..... Oh and I love the bunny food song 😆
Your welcome and thanks for watching 😁👍
What would you need wheel weights for?
Case recommends wheel weights and tire chains for traction. I personally feel tire chains make a bigger difference in traction than wheel weights, but weights help. 👍😁
Best. Infomercial. Ever.
Gotta watch out for those John Deere with the 2 step 😆
😂
In my short labeled it all makes sense now I figure out how the hood got burnt 😁
That truck sounds good! And I lost it when you took a bite of the cupcake with chocolate sprinkles 😂
Mmmm sprinkles!😂
Nice truck.
Thanks, it's given me no problems since the video 👍
Where’s the video
It's the case IH snowcaster and free mower video. The latest one on my channel 😁
And then some
Can't wait to see what you do with it.
You found some hidden gems 👍. You also earned a new sub
Thanks!
If you look close on the side you can see the issue. Theres a JD logo on it
😂
Well it’s a JD and a cheaply made big box store JD so you get what you pay for.
I paid $150 for it and a bunch of other mower stuff, so I'm not to mad or surprised 😂
@@KixBryant sounds like a win to me! 👍🏻
❤😊 my 7 year old loves your videos
Fan never really kept your seat cool anyway. Useless lol

FAKE NEWS! Everyone knows you use duct tape…I knew it was BS when he pulled out the scotch tape. 🤨
😂
Now if only YT ads were a bit more like this...
Maybe I should contact them 😂
Watch out for the contract from Key-Mart, the may try to buy the arrights to your invention and market it as the Keyrect hammer kit. I am waiting for the adjustable wrench video!
Thanks for the key-mart advice. I'll have to try and break an adjustable wrench or sometimes called an everysize socket set to invent a fix. 😁
I subscribed immediately upon hearing and seeing the genius of your work. are you going to work with Horbart Frate for your line of tool fixes.
I'm currently trying to contact kay-mart to see if they would be interested, but I haven't heard back from them 😂
when is your lifetime repair kit for adjustable wrenches coming out. I have an idea for a dentist tool kit, but it should come from your office conveniently located on ROOT 66!!
😂
this product is great! now i can continue my hammering for days to come
Thanks for review! We put a lot of testing into the product 😂
I purchased Kix's Hammer Handle Kit and without any hyperbole it is the best and most important purchase I have ever made. You would be INSANE not to buy this product! Don't be insane! I was insane before I bought this kit, but now I am un-insane, and I credit Kix's Hammer Handle Kit. PS - Kix please answer my calls!
😂 sorry for not answering your calls, but with over 200 subscribers I don't have the time to answer every call I get 😂, I am glad the product un-insaned your insaneness!
LOL - 😂
This is exactly how those late night paid programming infomercials are. 😂
The problem with your valve is the valve guide has come up into the spring I see you knocked it back down you can take the spring off of it and the valve out and drill a hole in the side of the head beside the valve guide t drill and tap that area and put a set screw in it and it'll hold the guide so it don't do that again
You have a great eye! I will definitely look into that. Thanks 👍
I think that once all the repairs done it will be a decent mower. Don't forget other tire on the list of parts, along with paint unless you have case paint 😂 make it a case and it will probably run great.
😂
I do have some equipment orange laying around... Tempting 😁
My John Deere Saber 2354 is 22 or 23 years old now, my paint in about the same spot started coming off 18 years ago. Nice fix, change oil and give it a little love .
The next video we will be cleaning it and doing the maintenance to get it mowing ... If all goes well. Thanks for watching 😁
