Living in Tokyo: Rent Prices Shocked Me!
As an artist, I think that burnout and creativity are two sides of the same coin. We are naturally restless souls. Also it takes a lot of guts to move to a new place, I hope you find something to reinvigorate your spirit.
Hi, Ray! I am working as HR, and want to say to you that even if get Reject from some companies you should not be sad. Because when you loking for a job it's the normal part of it to have some % of reject. And you should not take it close to heart it's just usual part of cheking for a job. I can give you some advices: - check your CV - better if it will show you as a pearson who can get's any result, it will be better; - when you talking on interview, try talk with HR about benefits what you can bring to the company; - remember that HR it's not your enemy. He (or she) also what to fill a vacany. And always remember that even if you get rejected the reason is not you, believe me. I know what I am saying. Good luck, you will get it..
Hi! Thank you for your kind words and valuable advice. I really appreciate your perspective as an HR professional. Rejections can be tough, but I’ll keep in mind that they’re just a normal part of the job search process. I’ll also review my CV and focus on highlighting the value I can bring during interviews. Thanks again for your encouragement-I’ll stay positive and keep going!
Walk and talks are better IMO
Thanks! I'll do it
RAY YOUR BROKE?!?
Yeah, kinda... but I'm surviving!
You're describing all of us. No one is ever always or never.
Exactly. Everyone has their moments, and that's what makes us human. Thanks!
Just found your channel - really like the way you talk No one's being "average" really resonates with me, I feel the same. In the end, I feel as if no ones *really* is a person at all.
Thanks for checking out my channel! I'm glad my words resonated with you. I totally get what you mean-everyone is made up of so many different layers, it's hard to define what a 'person' really is.
that’s what makes us human. You’re a great guy, you are who you choose to be. You’re not stupid, you’re being yourself and that is what life is supposed to be.
I totally agree. I'm just being myself.
I love this ASMR content ;) Soothing voice
Thanks!
It’s nice listening to you talk. It’s very calming.
Thank you. I appreciate it.
終わるの時にそれは重要じゃないぼくとすべての人死ぬだろう。 In the end no winner or loser because everyone die, life is meaningless. From brazil Great video.
I agree with that. Life is meaningless. That's why each of us can add meaning to it in our own way.
You speak a lot of truth 🙂 People get lost in trying to know what defines a loser or a winner; when social media’s true purpose is to share thoughts and ideas with people. And probably know more about yourself in the process. Or like what you said, to know “what makes you happy” 😊 People are just trying their best. Thanks for sharing those thoughts!
Thank you for your kind words! I agree with you😊
nice message. we all need to be reminded of this mindset from time to time.
I'm glad you liked the message.
Great vid once again ray!
Thanks! I'll keep it up!
I've had a different but similar experience. I have a lot of issues in my native language (English), but those issues vanish when speaking in other languages I know (Japanese is slowly becoming one of them). I wonder if this is a consequence of being poly-lingual; does the brain have certain thoughts associated with certain languages, meaning you can't access them all at once easily?
That’s a fascinating experience. I wonder if language truly shapes how we think and process emotions. Maybe different languages activate different parts of our brain, leading to unique thought patterns or even clarity in certain situations.
When the ego is involved, there are winners and losers. You have skin in the game, you care. Maybe it's an existential threat to you. When the ego dissipates none of this really matters. What can cloud our judgement is the ego and its obsession with winners and losers.
You're absolutely right. Ego is truly a troublesome thing. Personally, I want to work on gradually diminishing my own ego.
Don't know why but your content is captivating. Keep it up!
I'll definitely keep it up!
Hello from England dear Ray ❤
Hello from Tokyo! Thank you for the warm message. How’s everything in England? 😊
There's a certain peace in solitude. But then again human connection is also nice with the right people.
Time spent with the people who matter most to you is truly a source of happiness, isn't it?
Supporting you from India brother...🤟
Thank you!
Great vid ray!
Thanks!
Congratulation, Ray! Love and cheers from America (US)!
Thank you so much!
The point where you said how you hear people speak fluent English and wish you were as fluent as them is the same way I feel about Japanese. I hear others speak so fluently and I put myself down wishing I was as fluent as them. Completely understandable.
Learning a different country's language is a long journey. Let's keep doing our best together!
i feel like i also have this problem of stopping mid sentence to find the right words for the next ones, especially when i talk in my native georgian, it seems rather strange, its liek i forget my words and then they all come back
I can totally relate to that! It happens to me too, even in my native language. Sometimes it feels like the words just disappear for a moment, but then they all come rushing back. It’s an interesting experience, isn’t it? 😊
@@Ray-in-Japan It is! i cant really understand it, its like the words come back for a moment and then if i try to remember what i was talking about with that same person, the words disappear in my head! very weird
Hey ray! Would love to edit your videos for completely free. If you have any social media i can contact you on for further information would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you! But I don’t think my videos need editing at the moment. I really appreciate your offer, though! 😊
Hey man, I really love your vibes and honesty. Would love to see your language learning journey and self-improvement keep going! ❤
Thank you so much! I'll definitely keep sharing my journey and working on self-improvement.
Great Video Ray thanks
Thanks!
you're a cutie-pie. what is your favourite movie? and who is your favourite actor? which country would u most like to visit?
Bro you are harassing this guy 😭
@@tmtmtg no i'm not! screw you! mind your own business.
I like Back to the Future. I don’t really have a favorite actor. Actually, I’ve never been to any other Asian countries besides Japan, so I’d like to visit some. Also, I’ve never been to Europe, so I’d love to go to Italy. I mean, I love pizza!
@@Ray-in-Japan oh okay i thought you were mad at me. that guy said i was harassing you. I LOVE back to the future! one of my favourite movies too! and i'd love to visit italy too! and france and switzerland and norway etc. only been to ireland and england in europe. i'd love to visit osaka and hong kong and thailand someday. thanks for answering my questions!.
Yessir, daily uploads ray! Keep it up❤
I'll do it!
congrats!!
Thanks!
Congratulations on 100 subscribers 🎉🎉
Thanks!
Another great video Ray! May I ask, what aspired you to make RUclips videos?
The reason I started making videos was that I thought it might be interesting to talk about things I usually don’t share with people around me-just sharing my own thoughts by myself. Plus, since I’m speaking in English, I figured my Japanese acquaintances wouldn’t notice that I’m doing RUclips.
I love your vibe in your videos
Thanks!
Hey the time to make good choices for you is now and seem you have fear so work in your fears and make your own decisions life is too short
Thank you for the advice and encouragement. You're absolutely right-life is short, and it's important to face fears and make choices that truly matter. I’ll keep that in mind!
Hey Ray, first of all I love the vids where you sit down and talk. Second of all, I’m learning Japanese currently and I’m almost confident with the first alphabet (hiragana) and was wondering what I should do next? I heard that I should learn how to write Katakana and that sounds about right since they use the same grammatical structure just different symbols. Let me know, love the vids dude!
Hey, thank you so much for watching my videos and for your kind words! 😊 It's awesome that you're learning Japanese and have almost mastered Hiragana-great job! 🎉 Yes, learning Katakana next is definitely a good idea. It's used for foreign words, names, and emphasis, so it's super important for understanding Japanese in real-life contexts. After that, I recommend starting with basic kanji and learning some simple grammar structures to build sentences. Keep it up, and don’t hesitate to ask if you have more questions about learning Japanese. Wishing you the best on your language journey! 🙌
@@Ray-in-Japan Thank you! Love from the States bro. Your English is really good by the way.
@ Thank you so much! Sending love back from Japan, bro. I really appreciate the compliment on my English.

@@Ray-in-Japan your welcome! yes his sons ryuhei and shota are also great actors and very goodlooking like their father!
@@liam-jq1uc Oh! You know them. I’m surprised that you have so much knowledge about Japanese actors!
@@Ray-in-Japan yes i do know a little about japanese actors, movies, martial arts, food and culture. and i know alot about yusaku matsuda because black rain is one of my all time favourite movie and matsuda is one of my all time favourite actors! and i think he is the most handsome man ever! so i know a bit about his sons and wife and daughter too. but i've only been to japan once. lol
@@liam-jq1uc That’s amazing! Yusaku Matsuda is such a legendary actor, and Black Rain is a classic. I agree, he had an incredible presence on screen, and it’s great to hear he’s one of your all-time favorites. 😊
do you upload your music on spotify or youtube I would like to hear it

Thank you😀
I think it’s possible to still be independent and in a happy relationship. You’d have to find someone like you, who is comfortable being alone and also supports you making music. Would that be difficult to find there? Also children are cute, but not everyone needs to have them. If you are happy then enjoy your life. Besides, if you wanted them, you’d have to find someone you like enough first 😅
I agree, it’s definitely possible to be independent and still have a happy relationship. Finding someone who understands the need for space and supports my music would be ideal. It might take time to find that person, but I’m hopeful.
And what about now? You are now the musician you wanted to become right? So how about having some children now?
Yes, I’m a musician now, but it’s still not a stable job, so I’m not entirely sure about having children just yet. I’m still figuring things out.
I don't feel for it to be in a marriage, but a company of some sort would be nice. Going for trips, seeing things together, having spontaneous chats, that part would be really nice. Like kids, but can't quite imagine myself with one. Taking responsibility for such a small human beeing, while still beeing one.
That’s so true! Marriage as an institution might not fully align with today’s world. The idea of maintaining a partnership without being tied to the system sounds really wonderful.
@@Ray-in-Japan But I thought this way mostly because I don't feel independant, and secure financially to raise a child, I would love to, but they also need to feel secure when they have their dad. And btw. Ray, perhaps you could smile a little, I looked on those thumbnails on your channel and on most of them you kinda smile, and it looks nice, then I go to play a video and there you look a bit sad, dnk if its that you need to concentrate on the english part, but still a smile now and there couldn't hurt, its just a smile.
@ You’re absolutely right. Thank you for the advice. I’ll keep that in mind!
Being in relationship means you have to adapt a new role and may lose your identity. I have found my own identity and so scared of losing it and no longer be myself... This is one of the reasons i don't actively look for a partner. Yes, I am also overwhelmed by taking care of myself. I cannot financially and mentally take care another living thing(including pet). The drawback is dealing with loneliness, it always here and i am still trying to make peace with it.
Oh, I’m in the same boat! I totally understand how you feel.
There's many archetypes that exist in this realm of ours. It is no shame to not be married, nor to not have kids. The God says there are some who will not have kids, and some who may not get married. Allah is the Omniscient, The Wise. Some aspects of it as well are conditions placed upon man by other men, for the purposes of greed, social engineering and control, that is a factor too. All in all you just have to do your best as an individual and only The God knows what bounty tomorrow holds for you.Where you will be in a future time and with whom. Peace, stay blessed 🙌 🙌 🙌
Thank you very much for your kind and thoughtful comment! Your words are truly uplifting and full of wisdom. I’ll do my best to stay positive and trust the journey ahead. Peace and blessings to you as well!
@Ray-in-Japan My pleasure, all the best my brother.
that's amazing man, how do you get more gigs freelancing as a musician in Tokyo?
Thanks, man! I think one of the best ways to get gigs is by going to bars or restaurants and talking directly to the managers. Also, attending other musicians' gigs is a great way to network and find opportunities.
It’s very easy to lose yourself in a marriage. Being alone can be lonely, but it’s also liberating.
I totally agree with you. Being alone can feel lonely at times, but it really does give you a sense of freedom.
Honestly, choosing to stay single in today age isn't even weird anymore. With the amount of toxic relationships you see around and the people valuing money over you it's a crazy thought to get with someone in the first place. Doing whatever feels right is the correct way in life. Not everyone needs to get married and have children. Great video Ray <3
I know, right? 'Doing whatever feels right is definitely the correct way to live.' That’s one of the best quotes I’ve ever heard. Thank you so much!
Incel?
I don’t feel like an incel, but I’d say I’m not really husband material.
@ but are you boyfriend material?
@ I’ve had girlfriends, so I’d say yes.
Bro c'mon
@@gasaidjohn3499 Hi 😀
Relationships are tough tbh
I know! The toughest thing is relationships.😂
Hi Ray, just found your channel! You seem to have a lot on your mind at the moment and I just wanna say I'm in the same boat as you. Don't feel pressured to get married and have kids so early! Live your life the way you want to (for a couple years at least haha) I know that's easier said then done of course but keep it in mind! Anyways, hope all goes well for you dude stay safe!
I totally know what you mean, and I really appreciate the encouragement. I’ll definitely keep it in mind! Wishing you all the best too-take care and stay safe!"

Why do japanese men think never getting married or never being into girls is something to be proud of?
