Yoko Ono's career consists of over half a century of art, music, and activism. Yet despite this, public knowledge of her is limited to her famous husband and unsubstantiated rumours about her breaking up his band. This video aims to fix that, looking at Yoko Ono outside of her relationship to any one man, examining her life, art, and the ways she expressed her identity as an Asian American woman through them. This video also examines the history of anti-Asian racism in misogyny in America behind why Yoko was and continues to be viewed differently than her white male peers and contemporaries.
