Canik MC9 Polishing Feed Ramp and Feed Issue Fix

After a 150 round break in period, my Canik MC9 still would have a slow, halting feed of the first round from a full magazine. Shooting 12 Gauge 32 ACP Barrel Chamber Insert

Wanted to show how the little 32acp performs out of the 12 gauge barrel insert with its 18” barrel. These are reloads using a 30 cal. 90gr hollow point. Loaded to a low velocity, approximately 900fps. No hearing protection needed out of the 34” 12ga goose gun. Fun to shoot, but still packs a punch. Used successfully on possums and raccoons. Polish the chamber A LITTLE, and use lower pressure chamberings like 32 Long, use a reamer to change yours, using a 32 ACP is silly, then the round will fall out.

@@robdavidson4945 First , thank you for subscribing and the welcome to wonderful Idaho. So, I am not allowed to post contact information here on RUclips. But, Of you go to Google search engine and put in “MCA Sports Adapters Contact Information” it is there. Ace Dube is the owner and Donna Dube is who answers any inquires. Did you epoxy that rail on top or tape holes? H&R Topper 162 Buck has holes tapped for a Lyman peep sight from factory. 6-48 screws holes about .100" deep.
@@raylaux8295 I wanted the extra thickness of metal in order to use 8-40 screws for the scope mount and get enough depth for the screw. So I silver brazed on a 1/8” steel sheet I radius formed to fit over the chamber area. It worked great. I did not believe the original thickness of the outside of the chamber to be sufficient/marginal, at best, to secure a base with a decent size/magnification of scope. Thank you for your comment and question. It is much appreciated.
Nice job! 32 ACP makes it into a great little, small game rifle. I like the reload you made.
@@frankbrowning328 It does hit hard, even with a light load. Thank you for your comment, it is much appreciated.
I hope to see more of this one in the future. I've owned several and still own a few 32's. They're a lot of fun in a pistol and I've always wanted 1 in a rifle. This is a relatively easy way to accomplish that
@ Thanks. Don’t know if you remember, or are old enough to remember, there was an AR patterned rifle sold through the gun magazines of the 1980’s called the AP 74 and the AP 71. I believe it was the AP 74 that was chambered in .32 ACP. They were selling for under $100. I don’t know why I never ordered one. Been looking whenever I go to a gun store or show. I’ve found parts, but that’s it. It would be great if someone was to revive these. Thanks for commenting.
@@diggingoonschmitYes, I always wanted 1. I had an opportunity to buy an AP74 in 32 ACP in 1984 but I didn't have the money right then so someone else got it. About 5 years ago I saw 1 at a gun show in pretty poor condition for a ton of money and I passed on it. They were pretty good guns but not worth huge money.
@ If we only knew then what we know now.
Well, thank you OP! TIL the H&R Topper 158 was sort of the precursor to the later Handi-Rifles. I happen to have a Topper 158 so it'll be interesting to find what calibers that action/frame is capable of handling. I do know when it comes to using these adapters there is an issue with the action/frame and its firing pin. Most seem to be able to handle NON magnum pistol cartridges but not all can withstand Magnums or high power rifle cartridges. In those that can't, the firing pin usually punctures the primer, then the blast from the primer hole damages the firing pin and sometimes even ejects it backwards out of the frame, often hitting the shooter. There are videos on YT of ppl who've experienced that problem.
@@dkeith45 yes, you are correct. I would stay away from the magnums and stick to cartridges of lower pressures. The purpose of my set up was to have something similar to the old European Rook Rifle concept. Something that hits fairly hard, a larger bullet, but little to no recoil, and very quiet. Reloading gives you even more options. Next possible project might be a 30 Carbine insert in order to load heavier slugs of 150 or 180 grains. Thank you for your comment!
Up to 40k psi has been factory installed on early 158 Topper shotgun frames. So a 44 mag or Ruger level 45 Colt are good.
@@johnmills837 Looking back at some literature of the time, I see there is listed a 158 Topper (possibly the handi-rifle precursor) and a 158 Topper Shotgun. Can't say if both actions/frames were the same? But the caliber for the 158 rifle seems to have topped out at 30-30.
Looks good , I had to do the same to one of my weapons, easy fix, great video!

Do you have a link or source for MCA?
I believe they are on Facebook under MCA SPORTS CHAMBER ADAPTORS. I am not on Facebook, but googling the name should give you contacts. If Your In The U.S You Can Get A Huge Selection Of Adapters From A Company Called- Chazel
@ They do not have the number of caliber options that MCA Sports offers. Since I like to modify these for an extractor/ejector, for me, I would not want the bevel on the chamber face they put in for prying out your cartridge after firing. But, they are trying to expand their lineup and their products look good. Thank you for your comment!

It's useless to shoot small cal in a shotgun. Buckshot will do 10X more damage at the same distace. You need a Serious cartridge. Back in the 1970's a buddy gave me a old 30-30 bolt action, with the bolt missing. Had my Gunsmith unscrew the barrel and lathe it down to fit the chamber of my 12 Ga Browning Superposed. One of the last Deer(Nice 10 pointer) was shot with that 30-30 at about 125 yds. Pipsqueak cartridges are a novelty for fun. To get full advantage you need a 2 barrel gun.
@@WillyK51 The purpose for this system is to have the option of a fairly heavy bullet at a subsonic speed, very quiet, for shooting in noise sensitive areas for short range pest control or plunking fun. 30-30 would be out of the question in such a scenario. This is mostly for fun, but also has a niche. Thank you for your comment!

I do ownd a Walter PPK in 32 ACP as well as a S&W M36 and else. If I'd buy an insert it would be 357 Mag. If sighted in well. good to 100yds and beyond for big game. Again, to get the best of both a O/U in 12 or 20 Ga, Shot for up to 40 yds, and a bullet for 100 yds. That's what I pack when stalking thight brush. If something snorts at 15 Yds or over my Shoulder, Buckshot, If I sneak up to something in a clearing or out of shotgun range the 30-30 takes over

@@knife_knut The lazer sounds like it will add a lot fun! Thanks for commenting!
It's hard to explain how to do it but inside those guns is pretty complex the cocking mechanism is like a long rack gear you can take them apart and turn the gear that meshes with the rack with the rack out of it and put it back in there where it's partly turned before you cock it then you get more spring tension I wouldn't do it unless you can afford to break it because like I said they're pretty complex and you might not be able to get it back together right
Wait, did you say FREE state of Idaho? What do you mean by that? We are all free states. Some obviously more free than others. I certainly wouldn’t consider Idaho a free state compared to many other states where all citizens enjoy equal rights. Idaho just passed one of the most draconian laws relating to women’s rights. A federal judge had to back them off a little! You do know about that ? Sometimes, the term free state is used as an oxymoron to what that place really is, a repressive state. I hope that’s not what you are inferring? Maybe it just slipped?

Great trigger safety and great eye relief, but homie, you gotta teach her the proper stance. For the top half: Less like riding a skateboard and more like opening a door. For the bottom half: stand as if you're trying to keep a door shut!
It’s pure ignorance to give a person a shotgun, especially your wife, without giving them explanation or instruction on how to hold it properly and brace for the recoil. Then have the nerve to laugh at her and post the video for the world to see.
Obviously you did not read any of the other comments and replies below. My wife is well versed in shooting pistols and rifles from 22lr up to 308Win. I demonstrated hold and stance. She wanted to try it the way she felt comfortable when shooting a high powered rifle. Do not judge. I would never do anything to hurt my wife. So with that, I thank you for your comment! @@diggingoonschmit make excuses all you want. This isn’t ‘judging’ it’s an accurate assessment of the situation. You gave your wife a shotgun, let her shoot it improperly, laughed at her and then posted it for the world to see.
I have a new "salt weapon" that has a push button safety. When you take the safety off it stays off. I like the extended choke tube and need to see if I have some tubing that will fit over the 1/2" I have to work with after I put a Bug Beam on it. I want to leave the laser on it, but now I'm thinking, if I can find a piece of tubing that fits snugly over that, and another piece that fits tightly inside that piece of tubing I might be able to tighten up the pattern a little bit better.
Same thing happened to me my first time. Not funny. Bruised my shoulder. This ass here thought it was funny. Total jerk.🤬
