Love old houses. What stories they could tell. Stories of better and simpler times. Maybe hard economic times? None the less rich history. Such a shame to see an old house dilapidated and forgotten, enjoying the video however. Love the southern accent. Reminds me of some of my family that’s passed on. I miss them all so much! Watch out for snakes rats and other critters especially snakes I'm born in Alabama lots weeds and grass that's where they love to hide at and pop you really quick hornets wasps etc take care of yourself

Used to pass through there when i would go to Brooksville and Augusta to see my family (who still live there) Has always looked the same just alittle more run down as the years go by Its one of those places that as the old timers would say " dont blink or you'll miss it"

Interesting! I went on a hunting trip in Mt.Washington years ago. It was squirrel season. My first husband hadn't ever...so we went with another couple. We got in this woods,it was beautiful... the ground was covered with moss. He did get a squirrel. Together with our friends we took our kill back home and I fried it for them. They were from Louisville they didn't know how to cook anything but hot dogs. Good memories. I was going say, I've never heard of Oddville. I do think about all these abandon places. I wonder how people can waste so much. The bricks in that school building for instance. They tore down an old school here and the bricks were salvaged. Why? It just always amazes me...the abandonment. I guess it's because I don't like waste. I sometimes like old stuff before the new. I eat leftovers,I like recycle ideas. I like what you're doing. Thanks for the adventure. That school looking building was probably a kicking place at one time. The one structure that looked like a flea market, I wonder what it's original purpose was? Maybe a grocery store ? If so I didn't notice any loading docks, but those fridges had to have at least a set double doors.. Maybe all merchandise could have hand trucked in through the front door? Interesting. A General Motors refrigerator? Well I never... LOL

If you ever get back to house number 1 and manage to get in, the floors should be sound for you to walk on. Someone knew what they were doing to elevate the foundation of that one. If there is no roof damage that beauty should still be pristine even on the second floor. Good luck there! I loved the glimpses of the others too. Great effort on your part to gain entry.

Be careful of stepping on rusty nails

The extra room down stairs was the winter bedroom and the wide windows 🪟 upstairs was the summer bedroom to let the cool air in. Each season the opposite rooms would be closed up. The upstairs windows had long weights in each side, hung inside the walls. Don’t be scared of the owl, he was probably sitting and waiting for that RAT 🐀 to come out of that hole 🕳️. They can wait all day and nigh🫣

Good adventure anyway. I loved the looks of that creek, too,perfect for wading,I grew up doing that!!! 😊

Those cinder block supports looked really odd. The school looking building proves that granite block structures could last a very, very long time. If I had the money I wouldn't mind building a stone house. Sometimes you can only appreciate some places from the outside. Sure you didn't wasnt to stick your feet into that creek? LOL
