For the EMPERIUM!!!!!
"The Emperor protects" will be my last saying before exterminatus.
You make a great point woth the strengths of the Melta, being able to 1-shot Raveners and 2-shot Lictors after parry gunstrikes (and I assume 1-shot Majoris' as well) definitely a very strong argument against the GL and Incinerator, however I think that the drawback of having that much power IS the restrictions on ammo capacity. Without proper management of the 30sec ammo return threshold using with Tacticals Perk, it will for you too have to mix in and balance use of your Chainsword for less exerting encounters to preserve ammo. The benefits of the GL is that while the Grenades have less overall the effectiveness you get access to a "secondary weapon" (The actual Bolt Rifle itself) which very easily outperforms the Bolt Pistol in terms of last resort utility. Which is why I still think the GL is an overall more reliable weapon. The Melta Rifle just requires more balance of utilizing your Chainsword stomp to handle Minoris clears when only faced with only 1 or 2 Majoris enemies in a group to manage your ammo. Which is why I still opt for GL over Melta Rifle for its overall situational reliability. Once again, you just need to learn better ammo management and how to use your full kit in battle more efficiently to preserve that oppressively powerful but limited Melta Rifle shots for more meaningful occasions. The Tactical doesn't need another Sidearm, you just need to learn to manage your ammunition and resources better. Here's a tip to help you out, avoid reloading as much as possible so that you can maintain your reserve ammo for sticky situations. As well as delay doing an execution when they are ready to be executed to try and extend time between your 30sec cooldown (They remain in an executable state for 5 seconds on Lethal 10 on every other difficulties). As well as with your class perk setup 2 parry gunstrikes and 1 melee slash + kick should be more than enough to put most Majoris enemies into execution state without needing any primary shots required. (And if your fighting Terminids thats very easy to achieve) However I do agree that the Melta is extremely powerful, more so than the GL but the drawbacks are there to prevent it from being an end all be all weapon that negates every other weapon option. GL just has way more consistency in more overall scenarios (ESPECIALLY when facing off against Terminus enemies) and far easier ammo management that let's you lean heavily into exclusively using your Primary over your other tools rather than having to play more conservatively like you would with the Melta Rifle. I think I got my point across that you just need to learn to play your class better and it does not need another sidearm as the class (despite your lack of comprehension on how to play it) is already in a very strong position over most classes in terms of ammo economy and overall performance in missions.
You raise some fair points but the Grenade launcher and Melta are almost identical in terms of strength. Both have 11 shots, both need one shot to kill a Majoris and both have similar crowd control. The Melta loses against extremis, it usually takes three shots center mass while the GL only takes a single hit. It's not the ammo economy that brings the Melta down. It's the range. Right now the Zoanthropes make the grenade launcher the objectively better choice for tyranid operations. Chaos the Melta easily outclasses. You can out heal a chaos terminator that shoots rockets in your face. That is how fast you regenerate contested health. It's not even a debate in that regard. Either Saber nerfs the Zoanthropes for good or gives the Tactical the Neo Volkite Pistol as well. Because he absolutely needs it. Again this isn't even debatable. A single enemy shouldn't force me to swap to a grenade launcher for four out of seven operations. The grenade ammo economy mainly comes into play against terminus level enemies. By far the biggest weakness against solo players who use a GL. The second you dumped your 11 grenades into it it's over for you. I tried the 175% more damage combination and it does not kill a Carnifex or Neurotrophe. It only kills a Helbrute, the easiest terminus enemy in the game. Trust me I have 400 hours in this game. 200 or so with just the Tactical. Probably even more. I don't have to learn this class any further. I respect your opinion but my point still stands. Melta is the objectively better option for the Tactical outside of a single enemy. Which is still ridiculous if you ask me.
Also please stop giving me "tips". It's kinda insulting. We are not on the same playing field in terms of skill. That's like a guardsman trying to explain to an Astartes how power armor works. You can have a debate but know your place.
@@requiemagent3014 You are right about the Melta vs Chaos enemies the vast increase in contested health regen makes it far better for those scenarios, I was thinking about that while I was working. But if a Carnifex is the only Terminus threat I have to worry about with GL because Carnifex are pretty easy to parry spam hunstrike with a fencing weapon. I would rather be able to dump all my grenades into a Neurothrope along with my Krak Grenades if I can manage to find some before encountering it as thats easily enough to either kill it outright or reduce it to less than a quarter of it HP left. Also I wouldn't have to offer tips if you didn't clearly need them, your arguments very clearly showcase your misunderstanding on class efficiencies. I do agree with a good 70-80% of your response made their very sound arguments and showcase the varying downsides and benifits between the two weapon choices but as least have the humility to accept that despite having the same amount of playtime as me (more Tactical playtime i'll admit though. I personally like to play each class equally to better understand the game and it's mechanics overall) that even you can learn something new to help improve your gameplay and help better your viewpoint on topics relating the class dynamics and balance.
@@FellixNoAmatsu Here is the thing I can accept your talking points even tho I disagree with some of them. I even have two flawless runs on my channel. One with a Melta on Ballistic engine and one with a Grenade launcher on inferno. Yes those are solo runs on lethal flawless. Means zero incapacitations. I know my stuff. You can communicate your arguments and I am willing to listen. But don't offer me advice. I am way beyond that point. We don't have to agree on everything to respect each others opinion. I encourage you to watch my runs if you can spare the time. They are mostly unedited so I am not able to cheat and have proof I actually accomplished what I claimed. Thank you guys for showing so much interest to our chapter! Here is some lore: Overview The Siege Breakers, a Loyalist Second Founding Space Marine Chapter, is deeply rooted in the legacy of the Imperial Fists. They share the same gene-seed and primarch, Rogal Dorn, and their origin can be traced back to the Battle of the Iron Cage, a significant event that unfolded shortly after the Horus Heresy. Battle of the Iron Cage After the end of the Heresy, the Imperial Fists took it upon themselves to chase down the Traitor Legions into the Eye of Terror. Their Primarch, Rogal Dorn, was determined to avenge his father as he witnessed the Emperor's final moment, personally entombing the injured Master or Mankind on the Golden Throne. This vengeful doctrine was primarily focused on the Iron Warriors, the Legion's archenemy. Lost in their Zeal, the Imperial Fists fell into a trap. Perturabo, the Primarch of the Iron Warriors, constructed what he deemed the most fortified structure in the galaxy, the Eternal Fortress. This structure was built on the world of Sebastus IV, shaped to resemble the eight-pointed Star of Chaos. This place would become a tomb for many marines. The 71st Chapter of the Fists was crucial in allowing the Legion to enter the Fortress, clearing the path and detonating charges to topple the walls. Little did they know that entering the Fortress was playing right into Perturabo's hands. The trap, was sprung. What followed, were three consecutive solar weeks of non-stop combat. First, the bolter rounds ran out. Then, the fuel of the chainswords gave way. Suffering unprecedented casualties, Captain Relidan ordered the marines of the 71st Chapter to switch to combat knives. Blood flowed through the corridors of the accursed Fortress. All hope, seemed lost. Though the intervention was protested by the Imperial Fists, the Ultramarines came to aid their cousins, and together, the legions routed Perturabo and his lapdogs. As the final insult, the Iron Warriors did their best to deny recovery of the gene-seed from the fallen battle brothers. 400 Battle-Brothers were lost forever. Over a hundred of them belonged to the 71st Chapter, the first to break through the walls and amongst the last to retreat, shielding the rest of the Legion. After the battle concluded, Rogal Dorn changed his position on the Codex Astartes. It was decided that the Legion would divide itself into smaller forces, following the example of The Ultramarines and the Blood Angels. The Second Founding saw the Legion divided, giving birth to The Crimson Fists, The Soul Drinkers, The Black Templars, and one more brotherhood of the Adeptus Astartes, born from the three-hundred survivors of the 71st Chapter. Tasked with leading the newly formed brotherhood, Captain Relidan is said to have kneeled before his Primarch and is remembered proclaiming an oath of singular purpose. He would train his warriors to be relentless masters of assault, shaping them to become… The Siege Breakers.
Part 2 Chapter Recruitment Unlike some chapters that recruit from a single world to sustain cultural cohesion, the Siege Breakers are more interested in finding the best warriors, and that can only be done with a wide enough pool. This is why the first Chapter Master, Oathkeeper Relidan, made the decision to pick his own homeworld and the sub-sector it is in as their proving grounds. Each planet of the sub-sector has a recruitment regiment for the Space Marines of this chapter, and every single one is customised for that world to root out the best of warriors it could possibly provide. Challenges of the Siege Breakers Mortessa I - A Hive World, the smallest planet in the system. So tiny is this ball of sand that its resources can only sustain two Hive Cities, one on each opposite side of the world. Each Hive has a dependency on the other. Hive Uno extracts iron, creates petroleum and excavates all sorts of useful. The other, Hive Dos, produces all sorts of goods and commodities for the Imperium and the other hive, housing the largest cult of the Machine God in the sub-sector. Be it a promising hive ganger juvenile who wishes to prove themselves, perhaps a noble lordling who hopes to ascend, or even a promising tech adept yearning for a life in the ranks of the Angels, all must participate in the Great Maze. Once a year, the Siege Breakers conduct the games on the Hive World, alternating locations from Uno to Dos on the planet's seven-month solar rotation. The recruits face significant challenges that are kept secret from the wider populace to keep the games fair and challenging. Needless to say, the trial is filled with both physical and mental challenges. Some even say that the future recruits are to face an Astartes at the end of the maze. But none have ever confirmed these rumours. Mortessa II - +++CLASSIFIED+++ Mortessa III - Large, green landscapes litter this world in abundance, its imperial tithe fulfilled in grain, buckwheat, and other longevity-orientated rations. This Agricultural World is forever stuck in the ancient traditions of medieval variety. The Hussars and Bogatyrs of this world are akin to knights of old, who pledge their allegiance to the Order of the God Emperor to protect the innocent and destroy the wicked. In constant battle with a minor race of semi-sapient serpent men [Imperium has attempted to exterminate this threat, but the resources that would take spending at eradicating these creatures outweigh the tithes received from the Planet is thrice over its output], the warriors of the Emperor delve deep into the cavernous nature of the world to slay the ancient foe. Some say that the serpent-men are merely humans, genetically mutated into what is now a deranged set of aggressive reptilians, but nothing has been confirmed. Once a year, the Feast of the Rat is held. On this occasion, a set of young volunteers are taken into the abandoned valley of castles. Ancient structures, which have been taken over by serpent-men long ago. It is said that on that night that lasts 16 hours, the Serpent King appears, wielding a hammer that breaks bone with a shockwave that can shake the stars loose. If the boys survive the night, they are taken away after the Feast concludes the next day, becoming aspirants for the Siege Breakers. Mortessa IV - +++CLASSIFIED+++ Mortessa V - The Most distant planet in the system, this Death World is a cold wasteland where only the strongest survive. Filled with tribes of the Draught-men, ancient tales speak of the times when the world was filled with luscious islands and the ever-lasting ocean or bountiful prey. Nevertheless, some seven thousand years ago [Which the Imperial Records co-inside with a possible Warp Storm that occurred close to the outer edges of the sub-sector), the world's heart turned cold, and the endless ocean froze. The islands, gone beneath the ice, constantly grow thicker and taller as each year passes. The tribes are nomads, yet each has a sacred rite passed down from the shamans. Young men are taken to the planet's northern pole, and each has to prove themselves in a hunt of the Great Beast. It bares fangs that rotate in its mouth, shoots spikes that tear a body in two, and spits acid that boils the skin and organs alike. And if one defeats it, they are taken far away to serve the Master of Mankind as Space Marines. Mortessa VI - +++CLASSIFIED+++

I completed this mission on lethal with Boltgun GL. the part with defending the gens the GL came in handy, I think that brings up a good point of some weapons doing better than others based on mission. Meta is good but I find meta boring I don't want to buy a game to be forced into a playstyle and I guess I like the extra bragging rights for not using meta but being just as useful as my other teammates. I think at the end of the day teamwork carries everything teamwork is the META but most people play how they play without consideration for the team and their surroundings. Good Vid.
@@nidgey9926 But the grenade launcher attachment literally is a meta weapon. So I don't really get your point. The Melta is definitely better, especially if you have to carry, but the grenade launcher is absolutely up there. It's just the Bolter rifle that is absolutely unusable. Yes teamwork makes the dream work. That is true. But most people right now cannot even finish lethal in a full team with meta classes and loadouts. Imagine the same baffoons playing with stuff like the Assault class or bolt weapons. They don't even make it to the first checkpoint. What is the lineage of this homebrew chapter? Ultramarine successor? Imperial Fist successor? Which founding was it created?
Glad you asked. Our chaplain would jump for joy. The Siege Breakers are a successor chapter of the Imperial Fists. We were founded in the 31st millennium and have the same primarch Rogal Dorn. Our warcry is "Strike the walls, break the cage" Siege Breakers are a specialized in breaking planetary sieges as the name implies.
