A short 8km day was made much longer by a solo hike through remote hilly pathways to Caldas de Reis. Waterfalls galore! The gal was found as well as world whiskies in a bar. A certain fellow was picked up at the end of the day ….

Avoided the worst of a 29 deg day by arriving at midday and able to check in. Familiar folk reconnected with and a mixed bag with new folk. Simon arrives tomorrow - will St John proved wheels???

As the pilgrim count increases, the breadth of experiences with them does too, good and bad. Wonder how the local population feels? I want to apologise sometimes, but we two still make the locals smile with our interactions….

While the gal transports herself to Arcade, I walk 30km, finally leaving the wild Atlantic (very calm this morning).

Big day for the gal at 18km but she smoked it! In the rain to begin and a sunny late morning made for a pleasant entry into Viana do Castelo. 85km done!

A morning funk is washed away by walking - only 10km today. Wonderful hosts round out the day perfectly.
