    My jeeps coolant thermometer on the inside is fluctuation quite a bit after jiffy lube did a flush. I am going to flush again and change the thermostat since the heater has been cycling to cold and back to hot. Every once in a while the red lighting bold will come on and send my coolant thermometer all the way to the left and send cold air. Is there any sensors I could replace while doing this flush??

      Dang sorry to hear that, glad you are going to take this on and hope you get it fixed. You could replace your coolant temp sensor while you have the cooling system open if you would like. Great video. Thanks. I followed this while replacing the clutch on my 2012 JK 3.6L. Things I learned: 1) Remove the shift tower BEFORE pulling transmission. It will help you access the top two bell housing bolts through the shift hole in the floorboard. Also, the shift tower, if attached, will get hung up on the floorboard when moving the transmission in and out. 2) If you are wrenching on the starter battery terminal nut located on the back of the starter, watch out for the plastic connector on the side of the starter. The side of my wrench hit and broke the plastic connector. 3) Put blue tape on every connector you unplug and label it. I usually do this but was lazy and when I went to start up the jeep, I got 8 check engine codes because I forgot to reattach a ground wire. 4) Use a transmission jack from HF or something other than a floor jack. 5) When reattaching the transmission, make sure the four metal tabs for the wiring harnesses are ABOVE the transmission and NOT between the bellhouse and the engine. 6) If you don't have the tool to keep the flywheel from spinning when wrenching on the flywheel bolts, insert one of the pressure plate bolts into the flywheel and put a metal bar (I used a wrecking bar) between the bolt head and the floor. 7) The splines and angle of the transmission have to match up perfectly for the transmission to go back in.

    Question about your flushing method. You are flushing out all the old coolant by removing the hoses and then using the garden hose instead of draining the coolant (without disconnecting hoses) and then filling up with water, running the engine and draining the water (repeat 3 times), correct? The repeated filling with water method ends up leaving half the system full of water and then the unconcentrated coolant is added to make the 50/50 mix. Does your method of removing the hoses get all of the water out so that when you add your 50/50 mix, you arent diluting it more with the left over water in the system?

    • @JKJeep
      @JKJeep 7 дней назад

      Hello Brice and thanks for watching! To be honest I'm not totally sure which method is the best. This is the method I always use to flush a cooling system out. Reason being, when you remove the heater hoses you can back flush. Doing this you flush water through the heater core in reverse of the normal flow. I feel that when you flush in reverse it gets more sediment out that may stay trapped if you just flush the direction of normal flow. I don't have a certain answer though on if this gets out more water or is more efficient.

    The only think I want to mention is doing the flush on incline driveway is better because the radiator fill hole would be the highest level and air in the system will move up easier. Squeezing the lower and upper radiator hoses before start up will also help remove air pockets in the system

    Almost done with mine. I took the opportunity to upgrade to the McLeod hydraulic release bearing and a sport shifter from Lynx ($200 less than B&M) found on Quadratec. • @SILVERMAKOVETTE

    For anyone installing it and having a hard time. Remove the transfer case which is the 14mm bolts. It frees up a majority of the weight. Once I installed my new clutch and pressure plate, the little shorty bolts for the pressure plate would not reach the flywheel. I went out and bought 6 longer bolts then I saw a note in a Mazda forum from one of my millions of searches on this subject. There they mentioned to use 3 longer bolts too torque it down enough to compress the springs then i should be able to use the original bolts. I'll see if this works

    • @XxsteamerxX

    Great flush. I just worry about remnants of tap water corroding the system when flushing with garden hose.

      Thank you! I have had some worries with that as well. If one had access to an air compressor while doing this it may be beneficial to use that to try to get as much water out as possible. I have not noticed any issues thus far, but I can update you if I come across any. Thank you for watching!

      You can use a sump pump in a clean bucket of distilled water

      @JKJeep 2 месяца назад

      Thank you for watching! I had some difficulties removing the shifter myself. If you go to 4:15 of the video I go over how to remove the shifter if it is stuck. Hope this helps

      @@oxmate you have to lower the transmission down slightly before you can get to the fasteners to remove that, I show that part later in the video.

    This radio is a great find, but it remains on android, and I’ve got an apple. Any way to revert this radio to iOS?

      I don't believe there is any way to change to OS from android to iOS on this radio. I have still been very happy with the performance of this radio though. Thank you for watching!

    As a DIYer.. maybe I will do this on my 2016 JKU as my clutch pedal just started squeaking.. But how the hell do you stay organized with so many things coming apart?

    • @JKJeep
      @JKJeep 2 месяца назад

      It is hard sometimes to stay organized. I try to keep a clean work area and take pictures and videos as I work to make sure I know how it goes back together. Thank you for watching!

      @@JKJeep Thanks a lot! Hoping I'll just need a new clutch slave cylinder for the short term before tearing her apart!

    Did you notice any change?

    • @JKJeep
      @JKJeep 2 месяца назад

      The Jeep seemed to shift smoother after the fluid change. I think the fluid was probably slightly low prior to me changing it so I can't credit it all to the fluid change. But, I did notice a slight change. Thank you for watching!

    Great video, just replaced the clutch on my 2018 jk. I used a floor jack and ratchet straps instead of a transmission jack, it was not a great decision but i got it!

      No I put in a Chrysler compatible coolant, just didn't buy it from them and saved some more money. Thank you for watching!
